Unusual Habits/Secrets: Duncan tends to touch his mouth when he's thinking about things and has a tendency to rub his lower lip with his index finger when thinking about Eden. He also chews on the corner of his lip when he's nervous. He prefers to wear skirts or loose fitting clothing to wearing pants or constricting clothing (uniforms). Duncan also has a secret obsession with all the beds in the house having the same type sheets.

Background: (Major Story Spoilers) Duncan always knew he was different. At the tender age of five he was ‘abandoned’ at Clarity Academy by his father, to learn the fine arts of magic. He was instructed to learn all there was about the arcane world. All through his schooling he knew that he was different, he excelled in the arts and advanced further than most in his class. During this time he ‘befriended’ another otherworldly being by the name of Skuld, he discovered her real name and she discovered who he really was (the crowned prince of the Nightshade family), even though she kept it a secret from him. At the age of sixteen after graduating from the academy he returned home venturing deep within the labyrinth under his home in England to receive his life fortune. His fortune was bad, it left him cursed and bleed dry of all his magic.

His world spun into utter chaos as he was left for dead in the labyrinth of the world only to be saved by a ranger that mistook him for a woman. This ranger was Jing, whom he later discovered was the twilight knight one of the five unique knights he needed to break his curse. Jing shared with Duncan things about him that he himself didn’t know, the fact that he was in fact a prince and that he was a full blooded High Elf. He also learned that his sight wasn’t the curse, what they did to him was. It burned his magic at an alarming rate, he need a steady source of magic to combat this problem (absorbing magic from physical contact with another magical being).

At the age of eighteen he and Jing became an official couple and Jing devoted himself to Duncan as his personal knight. Jing was his first in many things concerning love and lose. Jing took him away from the village with no name to show him the world. But by the time Duncan reached twenty Jing made the decision that Duncan needed to find his knights alone, leaving him Jing sealed his eye to stop the magic consumption from going into over drive. He harmed Duncan that night by doing so, Duncan lost total sight in his right eye along with his special ability. He also broke Duncan’s heart causing him to shut himself in believing that real love couldn’t be real. Duncan went to Second Seal and was accepted as a Royal Magus, which was rare for his age.

At the age of twenty-two he discovered a flyer for a party in the local areas, he decided to go. Upon arriving he met a boy by the name of Eden. His heart was a flutter, it wasn’t a feeling he had had in years. Their relationship steadily grew and Duncan discovered quickly that he had fallen in love with Eden. He felt conflicted and confused; he wanted Eden but was terrified that he would be hurt again. Eden one night expressed he did in fact have the same feelings Duncan had for him on that same night they shared their first kiss, one that made Duncan feel more alive than ever. Duncan and Eden officially became a couple when Eden suddenly came home with Duncan one Saturday in early September. Duncan became Eden’s first for many things in love and decided that he would never show Eden lose. He discovered after their first real interactions that whatever magical powers Eden had was slowly breaking the seal that Jing had placed on him all those years ago. He loved Eden with all his heart and soul and he had only one wish: To stay with Eden forever.

Surprising to Kael is that Aeryth seeks him out and offers to heal his wound with her magic, each day she comes to him and works on his wound. Kael is intrigued by this woman, why would she help him when he tried to kill her companion? When she uses her magic Kael feels that there is something he in the back of his mind that he is forgetting....but what?

When Ekko comes to him one morning to tell him that Lord Mathayus is on his way from the Underworld, all Kael can think of is that he must protect Aeryth...

Personality: Duncan is extremely blunt and ends up saying exactly what's on his mind. Most times this ends up with people thinking he's an ass. In truth he is kind although a bit hard headed. Always misjudged he's kind of become a loner, but longs for company all the same.

Background: In the summer that he turned 22, Duncan met and caught the eye of the cruel vampire Melafiel. Breaking several vampire laws Melafiel turned Duncan against his will. For the next 200 years Duncan was a tool for his sire and did many things he regrets. In a way that had never been done before Duncan figured out how to forcefully break his bond with his sire and broke free taking along with him his "brother" Radlum. Unfortunately due to the unnatural sever of the sire/servant bond Duncan's vampire tendencies are extremely unpredictable. He created a seal in the form of the blue rose tattooed on his right hand to hold them in check, although on occasion he looses control and the monster within takes over turning his eyes blood red.

A little over 150 years ago he and Rad fled the Northern Continent by route of the shadow roads that Duncan is able to walk. They ended up on the shores of the Southern Islands off the coast of the Southern Continent, home of the wind nations. There they were taken in by vampires who along with their leader, Damien, co-exist peacefully with the humans by feeding on animals instead. Thanks to the peaceful atmosphere nearly free of animosity from humans Duncan has learned to gradually come to somewhat of an acceptance with being a vampire. These days he can be found passing as an ambassador for the Southern Islands and working with those from Four Winds School of Magic to hunt down demons that have broken loose.

Considered a magical genius of his time due to his ability to control shadows and not one, but all four of the elements, this reputation continued on with him into his present life. Although he doesn't have nearly as much control over wind and earth as he leads people to think. Duncan also has a ridiculous sweet tooth. Some vampires gain little quirks when they're turned and this is his. He could eat nothing, but sweets (and often does) and still never be quite satisfied. Craving sweets almost as much as blood Duncan has been known to hold major food grudges.
