Hiya there~ A few days ago my boyfriend convinced me that we absolutely needed a 3d printer because he found the 3d models of some less know anime (for which official figures don't even exist in the first place) and he wanted to print them. He also added that I could work with it since I've started sculpting a doll some months ago and I was getting interesting in exploring new medium. (I'll probably make another thread for my hand sculpted "so far head"). Since then I've started study how to sculpt in blender and I first made a little daruma doll, since I love them and I thought it was a good point to start practicing. I've also printed it, but I only have some bad cell pics ^^;. Daruma doll 1 <3 by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr Then the last couple of days I started working on her. Girl wip by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr I didn't make a sketch beforehand neither I've used any references, so if you spot any major anatomy related problem it's probably because of it. Even though it started as a simple exercise, I like her face and overall how she's turning out, so now I'd like to finish it and possibly print her. Obviously I'm a huge newbie when it comes to 3d sculpting and I don't know a lot of things, so if you've any tips about using blender they're very welcome. In particular I've no idea about how to make joints or joints' sockets that actually fit... so, yeah... .
Updates! I've been keeping working on this girl and I've learned a way to make the joints (I think, we'll see xD). So far I've made her neck joint, which is probably the easier to make, of course I'll not know if it actually works until I'll have her all printed ^^;. I'll upload a screen of it later on. Anyway, I've reworked a bit her face and I've started adding more muscles and structure to her body, I've also adjusted her proportions. I'd like to join her arms to the bust piece because it would be easier to build up a correct anatomy, but the cutting method on Blender still confuse me, so I'll keep them separate for now since I don't know if I would be able to split them again. This is me after realizing that I shouldn't have sculpted in orthographic mode, so I've to redo a lot of things, but yeah... .-.''. Bu by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr
This is all I've worked so far. Ok, there should also be legs, but I forgot to make a screen of them ^^;. Senza titolo-2 by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr ... Hiya everyone , I'm still working on the body (currently modeling some hands) and I'm sculpting a new head, this time with an actual idea in mind of how I'd like for it to be, so I hope I'm going to be more satisfied with the result). This is where I'm right now ^^. I'm also making an oe of this one, still unsure about the eyes shape though. Senza titolo-12345 by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr ... Senza titolo-123456 by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr I guess you can see that I've change the shoulder area, I'm trying to make the joints working, but of course I wouldn't know about it until I've the parts printed ^^;. body wip by e c h o u n d i n e, su Flickr Also I kind of want to remove the hip joint because it would be prettier without it, but it's a joint that I find really helpful to put a doll in a stable sitting position, so I don't know... what do you think ?
