Shipping Delays from the United States to Australia

    1. I thought this was the best place to put this, Australia post has informed me that there are massive delays from the US to Australia (not sure if its the rest of the world too) but there's not enough room on flights going out for the 30,000tonnes or so of mail from the US to Australia.

      So if any package is taking longer than usual, this is the reason behind it.
      Its annoying cause I want my package! :| but at least now some people will now know its not lost
      Its just going to take longer ^^;

    2. I shipped a head to Australia less than a month ago via first class mail and it probably got there in a week to ten days.

    3. I had a problem with shipping to Australia recently. I sent a doll (and some other items) EMS on July 20 or 21st and instead of arriving on July 27 they didn't arrive until August 5. I'm actually now in the process of filing forms with the USPS so that I (and once I am the buyer) can be reimbursed for shipping.

    4. Supposedly it's only the US. Auspost said on their Twitter that they're currently 10 days behind.

    5. Yup it's only in the US. I bought a doll to be shipped by USPS and I was mortified that the status tracking wasn't updating at all for around 10 days. It said she had left the US but was just sitting on the tarmac waiting to be shipped. I called up Auspost and they were helpful enough to let me know that yes, unfortunately that's just the case with the US at the moment T__T

      Also, they can't do much either because the tracking technically shows that the parcel has left the US (waiting to be shipped/despatched) yet hasn't arrived in Australia so Auspost can't do anything either. All you can do is unfortunately, wait.

      Slowest delivery ever from USPS, which is a bit disappointing considering I had dolls that literally arrived within 4-7 days a year ago. I eventually received my doll in around 13 days. Don't stress about it, once your parcel touches down in Australia, it should only take a day or two to clear customs and arrive!!

      i don't doubt there's a delay, but i dont't think there'd be quite that much coming from the US to aus by mail.....

    7. I was only repeating what the Australia Post lady said to me on the phone when I was wondering where my package was XD its been in transit for 20 days now. I don't know if there's that much but thats what she said.
      I've gotta call about my package tomorrow, it was posted on the 2nd but still hasn't reached australia ^^;

    8. This is a general delay for all US mail leaving the country. Due to the recession, the USPS has a hiring ban on right now. They're under-staffed and can't hire anyone else so everything's gotten dead slow.

      Things are even worse going to the EU if that's any sort of comfort for you guys? ^^;

    9. I'm still waiting for my doll from US. The seller shipped him via priority mail with track number. But the status of my item have not update since 6 Aug.....Apperently still stuck in sort facility.
      My other parcel which shipped via first class mail have arrived this morning and it was posted 4 days behind the priority one. Now i'm really worry.....
