Shipping Delaying of shipping because of the coronavirus

Mar 18, 2020

    1. @darkPrincess23 I did get the packages stuck in Chicago this week. They were there for 5 days this time. An improvement. Good luck with your Japanese order!

    2. Thanks I used a different postage tracker this morning- parcelsapp.com
instead of usps or 17 track and this site shows estimated delivery dates according to data of the last 60 parcles sent so maybe they do have more accurate estimates of delivery times if anyone wants to give it a go.

    3. As far as tracking sites go, I also like packages24.com because it's very detailed and tells you what company currently has your package.

    4. Thanks for the tip! I didn't know this site.

    5. Guys, happy to know that parcels from Russia finally arriving.
My only one left Russian parcel today hit 4 months of wait, no tracking since middle of August :doh
Still trying to not loose my hope.

By the way, anybody got some packages from Japan were sent by surface way to US lately??
If yes, how many months did you waited?

    6. My last parcel from Russia arrived today!! It was the first one sent but the last one to arrive.

    7. Congratulations to everyone that received their packages!!!!
I'm still waiting for my Spanish package...

    8. I'm still waiting for my big cello...

OMG the cello is an hour away. Which may take three days but I haven't heard anything except crickets since 7/23! Now I will hear cello music! Haha. Miracles do happen. I pray there are no injuries!

    9. The secret it to complain, so the universe proves you wrong, hahaha.

    10. Well, I think I complained a lot. Especially to the poor distributor! But maybe, just maybe, the multiple times finally added up! Or maybe the universe wasn't listening till today. Haha.

    11. Update on my doll shipping from Russia to USA:
Shipped on August 31, 2020 at 1:30 pm from near Moscow.
Arrived in Poland on September 9, 2020 at Noon, and on the 10th its in Poland Carrier received at 2:00 PM.
Tracking was updated almost daily until September 5 and then it just updated on September 16th showing the Poland location.
So that was 6 days prior to the update? ... Not sure where she is now. Not sure why it took days after it was received in Poland to show the newest location. With any luck she was able to get on a plane to USA... (me wishful thinking of course!)
Just thought it would be interesting to watch and document how fast (slow) she travels to me here in Maryland.

UPDATE @ 6:52 PM Thursday Sept. 17. -- She has arrived at USJFK in NYC at 6:00 PM !! Now lets see how long our customs takes to get her out and on her way to me!! YAY!
So here is the UPDATE from 9-17-2020 - Somehow tracking changed to her being in Chicago ISC. She was there from the 17th and left there the next day on Sept. 18th she departed Chicago to her destination. I was sure I had a long wait still.
On Saturday September 19, I had a tracking update at Noon, saying she was at MY POST OFFICE and she was OUT FOR DELIVERY! She arrived at 2:30 PM!!!!
After reading so many reports of how bad Chicago was, and how long packages from Russia are, I am happy to say her total travel days was 19! I am in shock and so happy!!

    12. I had a package ship out in the beginning of the month that contains the CharmDoll I bought. She’s literally the first doll I purchased so I feel so antsy waiting for her, haha. It’s airmail so I know it will take some time but the only thing is I am concerned since it has said ‘Origin Post is Preparing Shipment’ for what seems like forever now :sorry

    13. I had a package with a doll ship out from China on the 1st Sept by EMS. Well, it has yet to leave China and a couple of days ago changed tracking numbers (?!) so I have no idea what is going on. Hopefully they'll manage to get it on a flight soon :eusa_pray

    14. Haha. Still no cello. It is an hour away for 3 days. I was hoping when I said that last time, it was pessimistic.

@fate_xo your package will stay in the original country and wait at the airport till some day when there is room on a flight out. It can be a month or more... or less. Never know.

    15. I have a simple doll wig that was shipped without tracking. Could arrive in a month, could arrive early next year.
And yet the Impldoll body I ordered a month ago must have cleared shipping AND customs within 4 days. I didn't get any tracking info either until after it had already been delivered.

    16. USPS tracking will say that until it clears customs; it's pretty typical. Try a site like 17Track that can show you the origin post information, too; it's typically a lot more detailed.

    17. There hasn’t been an update on 17track unfortunately since the tenth, but I’m assuming it will just take time. I think next time I will just pay for ems or dhl because I hate to wait, though ems seems to be back up too atm but everything I’ve gotten through dhl has been super fast. Anything that has to go through the USPS is pretty slow in general, even domestic packages ;;

    18. Not doll-related, but I received a surface package from Japan to USA and it took almost 3 months (left Japan June 15 and arrived August 12). Considering it took JP Post over 3 months to send an EMS package that just missed the EMS cutoff in April (and Chicago customs broke one of the items inside the package), the 3 months wait for surface wasn’t so bad. Definitely cheaper at least!

I hope your packages from Russia arrived safely!

    19. Yeah, unfortunately, there aren't as many flights so things do get backed up just getting out of the origin country. I had a couple of boxes just stall out entirely once they reached the point of "waiting for a flight."

    20. Thank you for your respond! I have hope. I sent pack in July but it’s still doesn’t tracking outside of Japan.
That’ shame that custom Broke item , that’s make me nervous for doll , but I still hope that everything gonna be ok :(

      Thank you for support <3

    21. The mail seems to have gotten better on my end. A package from DDE took less than two weeks through regular post. :)

    22. So my cello has been stuck at a small distribution center an hour and a half away from my home for 5 days, so last night I used a feature on the USPS website for an inquiry. (Usually when this postal center gets a package, I receive it the same day or the next day at the longest.) My local post office sent a response this morning saying they would be looking into my inquiry and I just got a tracking notification (SMS) that it has left the postal distribution center this morning. Too late for today's delivery but probably tomorrow. Moral is, if you have an ignored package, be a squeaky wheel.

    23. I'm really starting to stress a little about a doll in transit. He was shipped from the US and post was quite fast with the exception of spending 7 days in Chicago.
He has been in Tokyo / departed since the 3rd of September- no updates.
Don't know if it is too soon but lodged an enquiry with USPS last night, surely USPS Priority International mail shouldn't take this long?
But I got clothes from China in 2 weeks.
Props from Australia in 3 days.
      :(

    24. @darkPrincess23 if the package you are worried about has been accepted in a different country, and it sitting there, you'd need to talk to the local postal services about it rather than the USPS. They don''t know how to find anything if a different country has it.
But if I understand how a lot of places are now, sometimes they quarantine mail coming in to the country for at least two weeks. If mail is coming from the USA, they might be quarantining it even longer, since there are a lot of confirmed cases here at the moment.

And USPS International Priority Mail guaranteed shipping times have basically been suspended. Even if you bought the most expensive overnight or one-day options, they have suspended those guarantees for a lot of countries as well.
In June, I shipped something from the US to China via Priority Mail - it took over an entire month to arrive at the destination.

    25. Hi :)
Thank you so much for the advice.
I have tried to contact my local postal service and they are not willing to look into it, from their point of view I need to contact USPS.
I'm really hoping this particular package is not lost or too damaged due to the extensive handling- he is my grail doll.
I know I should expect many delays but then I keep thinking Tokyo is not that far from NZ so half way home. He moved so quickly through the US and now stuck with tracking saying departed Haneda,Tokyo.
Lol everything I have been buying internationally seems to be delivered before this package and these purchases were made after buying him. The other packages were with standard post.
Not having any updates just makes me worry but I'm hoping everything will work out.

    26. Just wanted to add a few things since I've sent or received a variety of things to/from a lot of places:
      • EMS from Beijing, China to Northern California, USA, has been relatively steady in taking about a week to a week and a half over several orders throughout the past few months. This is normal, if not actually faster than EMS usually takes to get to me from China.
      • EMS from Korea to NorCal has also been speedier than expected, I think that also took about 1.5 weeks (as of maybe 3 months ago? This may have changed, hopefully for the better).
      • Royal Post from the UK to NorCal also took about a week.
      • USPS Priority International to Poland took within the allotted 10ish business days to be delivered. I think it was 11 or 12 days total, two of which were Sundays.
That said, has anyone heard about mail going into Malaysia via China? I was told that EMS from China to Malaysia was doing ok, but my head has been waiting to get on a plane to its customizer for 16 days and I'm starting to get a little worried, especially considering that it was shipped at the same time as a package coming to me here in in the USA that's been delivered already. I can't actually tell if it's been through customs or not, either, the tracking is a little unclear.

And another thing: has Chinese customs been refusing a lot of packages lately? I had one of mine refused once, another friend had theirs refused twice (I believe), and a second friend has had theirs turned back 3 times. All contain your average doll items: wigs, clothes, eyes, etc, nothing that would trigger any sort of customs flags. I'd never had it happen prior to this year and was curious if anyone else has experienced it.

    29. Hey guys so I hope I can post this here.

I had two dolls ship out last month. One got to me probably the fastest I've ever recieved a doll, she took about a week which was incredible.

Now the second doll I ordered I havent been so lucky... she's been in EMS about a month now and I'm wondering if I should be worried. I know shipping times are weird right now but I dont know what to do. She was handed over to the airlines in Jinan and I'm just wondering if that's normal or if anyone else has had these issues lately? Or if anyone has anything stuck at that particular area?

I thought shipping times were returning to normal, but I'm wondering if theres still hiccups in the system.

      • x 1
    30. @Justjordy0 Don’t worry, Obviously no updates in the system only, but package still move. Was your fast came doll shipped by EMS too?
I noticed a weird thing that surface going faster now then EMS from many countries.

I still waiting EMS was sent more then 4 months ago, and no any information almost 2 months for now.

    31. After 44 days in transit (USA to NZ)
my boy is finally in my country :)
Not home yet but I'm incredibly relieved,
he was passed around a few airports in Japan just doing circles lol.

    32. Shipping times I think have improved and are allmost 'back to normal'. I ordered a wig from an international seller on Etsy and while it took a while for them to make it for me, once it was shipped it was in LA super fast, I will have it and a dress in about ten days. All you really gotta wait for now is the time it may take for what ever you ordered to be made.

    33. @CellsFairy I wish to believe that it’s improved

UPD: Have my grail shipped from Russia October, 1
Today track was update already in Japan :aeyepop:
That’s was really Unexpectedly fast, Seems really improved :chibi

    35. Is anyone else’s package just...circling around? My package goes through one place, is sent back to where it came from, and then it is sent to the same place again. It looks like it keeps getting processed in the same facility in China but not making it on the plane or something so it’s sent back. It’s been on ‘origin post is preparing shipment’ for two months now. I’m getting worried since it’s a doll...:pout: I did contact the place I ordered from a while ago, they thought it would be returned to them but it wasn’t. I kind of wish it was sent back at this point because I’d rather it get shipped out again via DHL or something, as all the packages I’ve gotten from them for other things have been super fast and safely delivered.

    36. Home safe :)
Haven't been this happy about getting a doll for as long as I can remember.
He is definitely something I'll be drawing positively from for the next five very stressful weeks coming up.

    37. Russia → Japan
      12 days door-to-door.
      Tracking updated.

I hope that we finally get back from this post lockdown.

    38. Ordered a head secondhand from Spain. Tracking says it left the country on September 30th and nothing since. Not sure if this is a COVID thing or just a Spain thing, since I’ve read some pretty scathing reviews of Correos España online, but it’s definitely frustrating.

I ordered a doll body from France in April and it was here within two weeks. Not sure how COVID delays could have gotten worse as lockdowns ease, but...

    39. My understanding is that for deliveries to the USA and Canada, Correos does not provide any tracking info once the package leaves Spain. Last month, I had a head shipped to me via Correos registered airmail and it arrived on my doorstep within a week of departing Spain, with no tracking updates in between. Fingers crossed that you receive your package soon!

    40. @Gamine That’s really encouraging; thanks!

    41. I'm on the same boat as you. I have two packages, one from Belarus and the other from Sweden. The first package hasn't updated in a month and the other it's been a few weeks. I've even checked the post office website but nothing ._. Both have the status of "Processed through facility." All we can do is hope they arrive soon (and in one piece). TmT

    42. Idk if this is the right spot, but a doll I ordered from China (through acbjd) updated with “Handed over to the airlines” on the 10th, and hasn’t updated since. Is a week and a half of sitting at an airport long enough to be concerned? I don’t want to contact Alice’s and sound impatient if this isn’t cause for concern...

    43. I wouldn't be concerned up to a month before I contact the seller. But everyone has their own limit. I find that China EMS is slower than Korea EMS at the airport. My cello was at Shanghai Airport for two months! But most packages are faster.

    44. Okay that makes me feel better, I can probably handle waiting a couple more weeks, though I don’t think I could wait two whole months just for a single step in the shipping process :nowords:

    45. Has anyone had anything shipped from Russia in the last month or so? And if so, do you have an estimate on how long your package took to move? The secondhand body I purchased has been sitting at In Transit in Moscow since 9/30, and I'm trying to give it a full month before I start worrying, but I'm getting pretty antsy...

    46. I had a pair of doll eyes from Russia mailed 9/15 that arrived 10/13.

    47. Russian order shipped 8/6 arrived 9/3. I would inquire after a month.

    48. @zekarmisama, @Mahgiep, thanks for the input! That's about what I expected. I'll definitely be inquiring if nothing has updated by Friday.

    49. So I have a few packages coming in from China...I unexpectedly got a pair of eyes from Hongkong today. Took 15 days via airmail, so basically it took a completely normal amount of time. Didn't get proper tracking updates, though, which is why their arrival was surprising. We'll see how my stuff from China does.

    50. Has your tracking updated? I’m at about 2 weeks with my tracking saying “handed to airlines” and I’m curious how much longer I’ll be waiting.

    51. Unfortunately, no. In fact, the shipping is now taking longer than the production of the doll did... :sigh

    52. After a few parcels of relatively predictable shipping (longer than usual but in the U.K. in around a week), my Cecile from Volks has been “departure from outward office of exchange” since 25 October. He’s evidently taking the scenic route to get here.

So it seems shipping is fluctuating again.

    53. Since 25 October isn't too bad yet though. Considering that at the height of the trouble it could take months...I hope yours will move swiftly soon.
The last of my expected orders has left the Chinese airport after six days. So a slight delay still, but not too bad.

    54. For those who are waiting shippings from Spain, sometimes this website provides more updated info than the official tracking site (that sucks and it's not even working most of the time):

Seguimiento de Correos de España: AfterShip

    55. @Ariadhne thank you. I have an order coming from Spain.

    57. Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone in the USA has recently shipped anything to Australia during the pandemic.

I need to send a doll head to a friend of mine, but I wanted to know what the current shipping times are or if there are any ongoing issues.

What courier did you use? I was thinking of using USPS, but currently that's been a little unreliable as of late.....

    58. @pleiades I’m from Australia and I have received a few things from the USA, shipping has taken around a month to get here (this was your version of standard airmail).
It also depends on where in Australia you are posting to.
One of our states was in a very strict lockdown and restrictions have only started to be lifted, so a lot of the mail was redirected to be processed in other states.
I waited over a month for a parcel to be processed in Perth earlier this year.

    59. I ended up having to contact USPS about my package from Russia, which had been sitting at Processed Through Facility since 9/30. My local office called and told me there was nothing they could do but wait, so I ended up claiming the parcel as missing instead. Suddenly the tracking has updated to indicate that the package has been handed over to customs - funny how that works!

    60. I am waiting for my first doll bought second hand from Spain. I'm in the UK and the tracking from Correos has not updated since Friday morning, when it said it has been despatched to the UK.

I know it's only Tuesday, but I am slightly anxious as I have the worst luck with delivery and my things often get lost.

Anyone here received anything from Spain recently?
