So I just made two inqurys regarding my two package shipped in international express........... I got the feeling its not gonna help much since I under claimed the value, and even if they refund my anthing its not gonna be as much as what it used to be..... But even on the slimiest chance i gotta ask do you guys think this will somehow speed up their shipping process...............?It been a full month now and I really need them to arrive safely
43 days now...Been stuck at the Yiwu exchange station, Jinhua city for a whole month as of today I dunno if that's still normal corona delay. Anyone else have packages move through there specifically?
Nothing specific to Jinhua City but my cello has been waiting for a ride at the Shanghai Airport (4 hours away) since 7/26.
Update here; the package stalled on 7/30 in China, then when I checked this evening just to see if it had moved, it came up as having cleared ISC New York. So at some point, it did make it out (without scanning), then arrived (at the "wrong" ISC and without scanning), but is predicted to arrive here on Tuesday... I wouldn't be surprised, based on my past experiences with having something end up through NY, if it's been sitting there the whole time. That ISC is always slow even when there's no other issues going on.
I also have another update. I recived my doll yesterday, and her shipping still says she only left Detroit. That said, I do still have a wig that has been saying accepted in China since the 12th. So who knows when I'll get that. But my doll arrived safe and sound, so thats the important part.
a bit of good news on my part, my acbjd order finally made it to the states (at least that the tracking shows ) on 8/23! that was a package that was stuck in Xiamen City (?) for almost 3 months, if i recall. it made it to NYC, so it shouldn’t be much longer for me since i live in new york state. I’m not sure if that helps anyone, but if you had a package stuck in Xiamen waiting for transport since ~june/july to go to the US, hopefully you should see some movement too!
My doll actually moved very fast after leaving the ISC and arrived today, a day early! I hope everyone else has similarly good luck with their packages.
Aaaaaand, after almost a month, the tracking of my japanese package has updated. It arrived to my country!!!! Let's hope that internal mail service won't be that slow.
@~A*K~ Congratulations! Japan post release parcels very fast now as I noticed, but if they are move by air there are only Asian destinations are uploaded fast. Other countries deliver by surface, and its so long I hope Russian post will start update their tracking information too
@Eva Brown Thank you!!! My previous japanese package came faster and I was worried, but now I'm relieved. I recently received a Russian package and it didn't take that long. Are you waiting a package from Russia?
Does anyone have an estimate of what DHL charges from Russia to USA. Or any other country to the US? This would be for a lightweight small doll. Also I heard some say they had to pay customs fees here in US when using DHL? Thanks!
DHL's rates are primarily based on the size of the package. Take two packages that weigh the same; one is the size of a shoebox, and the other is the size of a KitchenAid mixer box. The one that is the size of the KitchenAid mixer may cost 2-3x more to ship due to the size of the box. So the smaller the box, the cheaper shipping will be. Actual weight appears to be nominal compared to the actual size. Books ship well with DHL, but bulky light objects do not since the cost to ship those, even though the box weighs less, can cost more. Long story short: shipping will vary depending on the size of the box. I would have the seller provide a quote. And lastly, as a general rule of thumb, you will be okay if the import value is less than $800. That is the personal exemption amount for the US. DHL (perhaps under the eye of US Customs and Border Protection) is pretty ardent about tacking on the import fees/duty compared to parcels at a higher value coming in through USPS. Provided that you are under $800, you should be okay. Personal anecdotes: Someone on BJD Addicts had a parcel a bit under 1k, and he paid about $15 in duty/fees. I had a friend who had a doll that was priced around $3k through DHL, and she paid $500. Customs for both outbound and inbound mail is so slow. For some reason, I did not think outbound international mail would see the delay it has through Customs. Back in April, I shipped a package to Canada, and parcels (compared to a bubble envie) took literally 1 month to clear ISC Chicago. It stressed me out since my bubble envie went through pretty quickly despite shipping it two weeks later. Once the parcel entered the mail stream, it got there pretty quickly! I have had some delays with ISC Chicago and ISC Jamaica/Queens -- but the max delay for those were about 1 month and a couple of weeks. ISC LA, however, is by far my worst experience. I have had a package there since June 28. Others have informed me that they are notoriously slow compared to the other sorting facilities, so I am just taking a breath until it hopefully clears.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't think people in Russia can use DHL unless they work for a company... I will probably have to use EMS and have it insured ... Just a somewhat recent example of shipping -- I shipped a large SD doll from Maryland USA to Paris France, May 13th, via USPS Priority Express, for $81.00. It took 40 days. It didnt track forever and I made a formal inquiry and 15 days later they called to say they couldn't find it, and I would have to file a claim. The very next morning as I was getting all my receipts together I got a tracking update the package was in Paris. That was Friday, the doll was delivered the following Monday! It seems to help when you call after 30 days and make a report.
Sure thing! I am not sure about sending, but with receiving, they need a commercial address. As for shipping from Russia, it seems to be somewhat back to normal (but on the slower side). I had an item ship registered mail and it took about 1 month to arrive including US Customs clearance. Some sellers are also using third parties to help out with mailing since they refuse to trust Russia Post anymore. I had a seller there send me something through PostNL, so I would inquire. Hope you can get the doll you want!
Oh thats a good Idea -- ship to a friend in Europe... she did say she shipped another doll and it was fine... she may know someone who can use DHL, so it wont hurt to ask. Thank you!!
@willobea - the seller is actually Russian, but she is able to use PostNL to ship her parcels. I'm not sure how it works, but it appears that that is an option for some. International mail is stressful at this time, but best wishes in bringing home a new doll!
Yes Idk how I can take the wait but I have to!!! Trying to get her shipped next Monday so she maybe here before all those ballots really clog up the post! Thanks for all the info & I will prob post updates here!! Does anyone know if EMS is the highest form of regular post shipping from Russia to US? I looked at PostNL and I don't think she can ship using that, I will ask her. They do have an express version to USA. I was wondering if they had something like what we have in US Global Express Priority -- which is the highest form of shipping above regular Priority International Express....? I am also interested if anyone has purchased insurance on their EMS package from Russia? I just tried to find the cost and it looked like for express was 42%?? I don't know if that's accurate or not! If that's percentage of what the value ... would be like 300 for insurance? If anyone has experience with insuring packages EMS from Russia I would be interested to hear more! Thanks
@~A*K~ Yeah, I wait currently one package sent by EMS from Russia in may, but according tracking information it’s still on their custom. Thanks god is moving! Hope everything will reach home safe
My three packages from Russia are now in Australia after around two and a half months, I still haven't got them though.
Don't know if anyone is following my case but I just got some good news today! After being "in transit" for almost 2 months, today i finally got a update from USPS saying my package is at chicago's international distribution center! Turns out it even didn't make its way to the custom to fly out.... it's probaly spending 2 months in some kind of sorting storage center
It’s was actually two packages I sent out from here in US! It suppose go to my two Chinese friends back in China....... I still can’t believe it took them 2 months to move within the states, and I was even using express shipping.
Wow! I thought the two months were for international movements. Let's hope they don't take another 2 months to get to their final destination.
There are EMS, DHL, and FedEx. EMS doesn't have insurance but they cover the price of the parcel in case of loss or damage. So you don't need to pay more for the parcel. The cost of the delivery depends on the weight. For example, the parcel with SD doll is about 6 kg. The cost is about 100 USD. I've sent two parcels from Moscow. It took about 3-4 weeks this spring. Very slowly. The parcels moved quickly in Russia but stopped at the customs in the US.
Still no movement on my Chinese cello but the good news is that both my small Russian orders are in the US today!!!
Yiwu exchange station, Jinhua city...It's all well and good for that specific package to be delayed...but I expect that my Xun will also be sent that month. I'm almost considering writing ResinSoul about a shipping upgrade,
So, yeah, I'm pretty sure my package from Withdoll is stuck in customs because there's been no movement or updates since it landed in Canada friday night. The Korean EMS page and 17track both say it arrived and departed the airport so I guess Vancouver customs is backed up? Canada Post's tracking still says they are waiting on it/don't have it in their system. I've got two other packages that just shipped from Mandarake so it will be interesting to see if they stop dead in their tracks once they reach Canada, too. I don't think I've ever had more than a day or so wait for customs to scan it, so I'm a little antsy lol. Edit: took three weeks for my ems package from Korea to arrive. Two of those weeks were spent in Canada. With a full week being stuck in limbo between arriving and beinh scanned by customs, and the other week just chilling at the processing center in Richmond, BC. My mandarake packages came within exactly a week from being shipped.
My package from AC has arrived in Germany after 57 days, halleluja It's still in customs, but that's fine, processing and shipping times within the country have been normal recently. There really is hope, good luck to everyone!
Yaaay!! Congrats!!! I received my Japanese EMS package yesterday after almost 2 months. But now I'm waiting for a Spanish package, let the countdown begin...
I have 8 packages shipped and no movement. Three are stuck in the US. Does anyone in the US know what the heck is going on in Chicago? Many packages now land there. Those I understand. But items that already cleared customs in San Francisco also get stuck in Chicago for weeks!! I'm on the east coast and actually cheer when packages come to NYC which seems way more predictable.
Oh yay. Chicago released the package that landed in SF! Thank goodness for the usps text messages. The websites (usps and 17track) are both behind.
I have a doll coming from Korea to the US, mailed ems on Aug 28th. It finally got on a plane today! Phew, half the battle done. I used tracktrace and noticed a flight number so I had to look it up, and my doll will be arriving in SFO. Which I’m very relieved at, because they have been consistently fast with customs. Having the flight number is fantastic (which it probably has always been available, but I never noticed ).
Hi everyone! My package from Alice’s Collections FINALLY arrived after 179 days (5 months!). I still can’t believe it! I almost gave up on her. I’m so happy. My doll came intact and everything is perfect, I love her!
@ThainaFG you get the prize for the longest wait! (Not counting those of us waiting for Dollshes.) I would say your prize is your treasured doll intact! Congrats!
I bought a wig from Russia Jan. 6th. I got a tracking number and confirmation on July 7th and it's not arrived yet. I'm excited for it and I did hear Russia is really backed up right now.
I got both of my Russian orders this week. One shipped 7/14 and arrived in US 9/1. Came today 9/5. The other shipped 8/4 and arrived in US 8/21.
My Russian package tracking still doesn't work. I ordered a doll sofa from Ukraine which hit Ukrainian customs in like a week not yet sure how long the gap between getting out of customs and into the USA is. I hope mail is less insane by the time Dollmore finishes making my Dell. $1000 doll in mail limbo might kill me with stress.
@zekarmisama my Russian tracking numbers didn't update for ages because they were on a ship, they also took a while to be put into the system.
Oh my god it turned out I was given the wrong tracking number and the package has been sitting in Chicago customs since August 28th I probably could have saved myself some stress if I asked the seller about it earlier
@Kaname Kimura I have an order from South Korea that I've been tracking on a container ship. It landed in NYC on 8/29. I'm just curious if you have any idea how long it takes to unpack a container and get it into the mail system. Totally new for me. I'm sure it's different in different countries but what is your experience?
@Mahgiep It took around 3-4 weeks depending on the post office. I had two parcels arrive on the same ship I have one of them and I am still waiting for the other one. It's really weird!
My AC order has arrived at long last. As predicted shipping within went fine. Am happy. Now all that's left for now is my ResinSoul doll.
My Russian wig came today! . So July- September for shipping. I am happy with the product. I hope everyone else's comes soon.
Hi I'm not in the US but I had a package from Indianapolis go through Chicago and it was there for almost a week (international priority mail), before moving onto the next airport. Hopefully your packages arrive soon, Im still waiting as mine is stuck in Tokyo, for a week and who knows how long I'm in NZ so fingers crossed for everyone Really stressful I don't know if it wasn't scanned, cos it said departed and nothing since then.
