Shipping Delaying of shipping because of the coronavirus

Mar 18, 2020

    1. Z. Agram sent me an order by boat on 7/23. Estimate is arrival to US on 9/5. My Freedom Teller order has not shipped yet. Good luck with your order. I have not lost any of my orders but they are usually very delayed.

    2. I've had a package from Rrabbit sent Hong Kong registered letter in transit for 27 days now. I'm hoping it will just show up unannounced any day now. A pair of stockings I bought from Hong Kong made it in 25 day 4px so I'm hopefull for my Rrabbit order.

    3. Well those reports on Korean EMS time aren't encouraging but at least it gives me some timeframe to expect. Stuck at International Post Office in Seoul since the 28th so still several days likely before she leaves South Korea. Somehow the wait was fine when she was being made but now she's on her way I'm all antsy. XD;

    4. @Ian-KunX I am the same. Fine till shipping and then I have zero patience!

    5. Lol same Ian-KunX.

The last 10% of the wait is always the worst part.

A current package in the mail was "airline is shipping" on the 1st and then today the 5th. Just waiting for it to make landfall in the USA. And hoping USA side doesn't mess things up.

I ordered some custom glass eyes from Captured in Glass and USPS managed to have it disappear off the grid for a few days when it was a mere 2 hours away from my house.

    6. USPS used to be a relief but now it's awful. I just had an estimated delivery for a few items from CA (I'm in MA) not arrive, told it would be late, and for two days have had no scans at all with no location info. Even the text tracking is gone. And this is domestic mail. Sigh... it gets worse and worse.

    7. I'm in a very similar situation. My package was last scanned in LA on the 1st and now tracking says "In Transit, Arriving Late
Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility." with no actual information about where it is or when its expected delivery date is :...(

    8. Hi everyone! Looks like there are a lot of delays, but does anyone have like an average amount of time that people are waiting? I have four dolls I am expecting in September and October and am not sure when I should start worrying about the shipping wait.

    9. I got my package today!

So to summarize, I had a small package sent by K-packet on July 18. It left Korea on approximately July 28 by plane. It was scanned in to the US at LAX on August 1 and arrived today, August 6.

    10. My package from China is still in transit and has been for 29 days. It's waiting for air transportation since July 22.:(
Everything else that I've bought in that time has arrived pretty quickly... I think I'll wait until next week and then ask AC to inquire what's happening to it.

    11. My packaged from China took about four months to arrive (shipped 3/28, arrived 7/20). Definitely check-in, but things really are just super slow right now!

    12. I had a spurt of Chinese packages about two, three weeks ago, now nothing since then. Our packages are getting to know each other at the airports! Even Hongkong is dead. That used to be the fastest...

    13. I had a package start on its way out of China last Wednesday, that's been stalled since last Thursday... it's a smaller package (pet doll) so I'm hoping it doesn't wait too terribly long to get on the plane. Meanwhile, the dealer order I've been waiting on that was shipped to the dealer from China in early April arrived with them this week!

    14. I emailed Alice collections yesterday and they basically said shipping times are really delayed. Many items are just sitting around waiting for a flight out of china.

    15. 100% what @-T2P- said, I emailed them a week or so ago about the same thing. I have a package that's been waiting for air transport from them for about 2ish? maybe more, I've lost track lol! months now :( Just checked today on a whim again and it's still waiting. I've forgotten what I even ordered at this point it seems :|

I'm wondering if I should try buying some shoes elsewhere.. I think this AC order has shoes for my feeple, but I'm expecting a mnf in a few months i want certain shoes for and if wait times are this long... i might as well just order things now so it's 'on time' later LOL

    16. Answering my own question about EMS from Korea in case it helps anyone! EMS took 9 days to leave Korea and arrive in my closest Customs USPS location. Usually, EMS from Korea arrives to me in 3 to 4 days, it took 10 days to land on my doorstep.

    17. I had a recent conversation with Fantasy Doll in Hong Kong and they said the only guaranteed way of shipping to overseas destinations out of HK now would be DHL express, which of course is expensive. They did not even want to try EMS and in fact do not offer it anymore. There's no way to know when/ if things will change again, they said. In the end my DHL express package got to me (Europe) in under one week.

My EMS package from mainland China has been sitting in a sorting center waiting for a flight for two weeks now, on the other hand. China EMS lists shipping to my country as without restrictions, i. e. back to normal, but there you are.

    18. Customs is what's really backed up for me. I've had two packages sitting in US Customs for two weeks with no updates. This is in the Chicago location. One of them is from Russia, and another is from Korea, both EMS. I'm starting to get concerned; I don't think I've ever had a package take this long in customs. Has anyone else experienced this?

Internal packages are definitely very delayed as well. Lots of "In Transit, Arriving Late" scans daily with no check-ins. I feel so bad for these poor postal employees with all of these changes. It seems like a lot of stress and extra work for them with no support. I'm trying my best to be patient, but not having visibility into packages makes buying and selling very stressful.

I paid $90 for a Fedex package domestically, and it did arrive promptly and safely. I really don't want to switch to a private company, because I know that is by design, but I cannot afford to have dolls I sell float around for weeks, making a buyer so anxious. Not everyone is so patient

    19. I finally received my package from Australia... after 99 DAYS!!! It was first switched from air mail to sea carrier, so of course it was a little longer to arrive, but then it stayed stuck in BC for weeks because of strikes in the port! Then around july 22 I got a scan from Canada post, and it took a few days to arrive after that! So there is no guideline, sometimes it goes very well and sometimes there is a combination of bad luck that just seem to pile up!

    20. Unfortunately it's getting worse. My Yur is at day 13 since her last scan. She still hasn't left South Korea, and may not have even gone into outbound customs yet. This is so stressful. T_T

    21. My package from France only took one week to arrive, and I live in the US (went through San Francisco). It was a small package, and I think that’s why. The bigger packages take up more room, so they get put aside for all the smaller ones, or squished in. I’ve seen some big doll boxes that have been squished lately.

    22. My EMS Korea package materialized today with no further updates to the tracking.
Hoping my Russia, China, and Singapore packages follow suit soon...

    23. I'm on day 34 and the package is still stitting at the airport:( If that's how EMS in China is going to be now I wonder how my ResinSoul doll will fare next month. Maybe I shouöd arrange another shipping method. Actually, I'm not quite sure what kinda shipping they use in the first place (Germany Freight could mean all sorts of things), I do know that I paid 35$ for shipping.

    24. My Japanese package has been showing "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" for 2 weeks now. :(
My previous package got that status for just a few days... I'm getting impatient.

    25. Well, i have a wig that has been sitting in chicago for over a week now, and a doll that just shipped. Hooefully there wont be any issues with them.

    26. It's not just delays due to coronavirus. The USPS is being afflicted by political agenda right now. The new Trump-appointed Postmaster General has been issuing orders that forbid any overtime efforts from regional sorting centers down to the postal worker doing deliveries. If they have mail undone at the end of their shift, they're supposed to let it lay until the next day or with deliveries, bring it back to the station. There are other slow-down edicts being issued. He also fired about 23 upper level managers last week. One can't but help notice how this would impact the growing interest and need for mail-in voting in October/November.

Oh yes, Trump also wants the USPS to charge a LOT more for shipping Amazon packages - whether that will end up only for Amazon packages or for everybody is anyone's guess.

On mail-order sites with feedbacks, you're already seeing multiple complaints of missed delivery dates, dead plants, and more.

    27. Yesssss! I noticed a big change a month ago when he fired all the postmasters. What's new is at least in Iowa the sorting machines are being removed secretly. You can imagine how much slower manual sorting must be. This is blatant voter suppression in action. Don't get me started...

    28. Not fuming politically, because apparently that's not allowed on DoA...just giving a hearty nod of agreement.

However. One of my dolls shipping from China by EMS (i.e., USPS on this end) has been lost in limbo since July 29th. Another that shipped by FedEx, also from China, took only four days to arrive...so it would seem that it's all about the carrier, not Covid. Even though they're a top contractor for the US government, FedEx is not the USPS. Thankfully, Trump's reach is not able to extend everywhere (for now), it seems.

    29. I know Russian post is slow but like my tracking number hasn't even been counted as in the system for a week :vein

    30. I have a package coming from Russia via EMS that hasn't updated in 2 1/2 weeks too. When the seller checked in on it they just told her it had been exported, so I have no idea where it is. It's super frustrating and making me a little anxious to be honest.

    31. I have a package coming from Korea to Oregon and it's been in Seoul for 11 days now, and that's the most recent update on the EMS tracking. I've only ever received packages from China before and those customs times didn't take nearly as long, even with COVID setbacks. Does anyone know if this is normal for packages from Korea lately? I know 11 days isn't a super long time, but it's a longer customs processing time than I've experienced in the past and it just makes me a bit nervous :/

    32. My Russian tracking numbers have stopped working on the Australia Post website but thankfully 17track works fine, I think because they have been in transit for so long they timed out.

    33. @grodnertal I think 11 days is not that long. Last month SartoriaJ gave me a 2 week estimate to the US but things seem slower right now. I have a package stuck in Seoul for 8 days and I'm not paying attention.a

My Russian order moved nicely through Russia then hasn't moved since the beginning of the month.

i just bought some props from the Philippines and the seller found out she won't be able to ship to the US on Tuesday, so she's sending the package tomorrow! So it isn't getting better!

    34. I have been buying internationally from NZ and I find that delays have not been too bad. Paying more for tracked and insured postage is worth it.
Packages from AU have been 5 days, from China 2 weeks, from US the longest I have waited was 3 months.
Postage may be delayed but things do arrive eventually:)

    35. Migidoll seems to be at a standstill in shipping their dolls out of Korea. I've contacted them for a status and they've said they're looking for a time window to ship their orders out. They're strictly using EMS. :shudder

    36. Yeah, I'm prepared to wait it out, I just wasn't too sure about the timing since I've never ordered anything from Korea before. It is comforting to hear that other people have had similar experiences though. Thank you!

    37. Just in case it helps anyone, I just received a wig I ordered and the tracking says its still in chicago.

    38. I have a fantasy that this will happen to me, hahaha. I'm waiting for a doll and it has been more than 2 weeks without updates.

    39. Ouch...i have 2 more packages im expecting one of which is a doll and its killing me waiting and watching the tracking stay the same for days on end. Hopefully all our packages will arive safe and sound and sooner than we expect.

    40. It took 14 days for my Yur I just got to get a flight to leave South Korea. Technically 15, she was handed over to the air carrier on a Tuesday but the flight to SF they used doesn't run on Tuesdays.

After that it sat in customs for a couple days on the US side and then moved relatively quickly and got to me on the 18th day after mailing.

    41. I know shipment with usps gets delay recently bc the COVID, but this is the first time I ship with international express that takes already more than a month, i wonder if anyone also had the same problem either domestic or international........ or is there anyway i could spead up the process

I sent two package in July 9th and July 10th seprately, and they all got stucked in Chicago international distribution center since July 19th...... the status been saying "in transit" ever since. This is rather dreadful for me since the stuff I'm sending was one DD 9s full doll also an illusion garden bane head, both of them worth much more than its original price now.. I'm not even dare to think about if it get lost:...(:...(:...(:...(

    42. USPS is suffering not only from COVID19 delays, but also from the new Post Master's regulations slowing it down. Post workers are no longer allowed to work over time or take more than one trip to deliver/pick up mail. Some sorting centers have had their sorting machines removed. Blue drop boxes have been removed as well. Rural and international mail are especially slow right now.

You can always contact USPS on their website to see if they have the packages.

    43. I'm not gonna go too into it because of forum rules. But there has been a lot of political turmoil that's unfortunately affected the USPS. One major issue is mail sorting machines being shut down across the country. I highly encourage anyone who may be affected by this to research it and warn others. I hope this is ok to write and apologies if otherwise.

    44. @Meggiekarp I tried call also sendig email couple days ago when I start to worry a bit, they only says "we will not have any further information on the package except the one already showned in the tracking". I figured this is probably bc lots of people already ask the same question too often:pout:

@Hosh Wow i didnt know they even shut down the sorting machine..... i guess this is really not a good time using USPS send stuff out:doh

    45. Yep, we're all facing the same struggles. I have a couple dolls I've been waiting on that were supposed to be delivered today (expected date) but I knew they wouldn't. Everything ordered, even domestic, has been late for arrival over the last month or so. USPS used to be great about delivering on an expected date or earlier, but as of right now delays are the norm unfortunately, due to the reasons stated above.

    46. Sadly yes. I have a doll from Australia that has arrived at ISC LA since June 29. No other movement since then... This is the longest I've had a package not do anything in Customs since the pandemic. :ablink:

    47. @honeyedbiscuit That is bonkers! I've sent many things to the US (I'm from Australia) and it has never taken that long (including during covid-19!) how was it the sent?

I'm really worried about sending my blank heads to the face up artist I like (in the US) hopefully your government can sort itself out and fix the problem.

I am still waiting for 3 packages from Russia (sent in May and June) I'll start worrying about them in September...

    48. I have no idea how it was sent unfortunately. :/ There is tracking, but it doesn't indicate the class of service. I wonder if that affects processing time at Customs? I guess by some degree, it would. It was sent mid-May, and it actually got to the US relatively quickly except Customs is just SITTING on it. I have no beef with USPS but much frustration with CBP. Until it leaves the sorting facility, USPS won't be able to do anything about it, sigh.

Not sure if this data point is useful to you, but I've been getting my mail from Russia relatively quickly more recently. I had a parcel sent mid-July, and it got to me in about two weeks, so things are moving. If it gives you any hope, I got my parcel that was posted March 28th last week as well. Hopefully your packages will arrive soon! :chibi

    49. @honeyedbiscuit
From what I've gathered, a lot of the wait time depends on where in the US it lands for customs. If it lands in NY, it's going to be stuck for a while. Every recent order I've had from overseas that landed in NY sat there for weeks before moving. But something I ordered from overseas that landed in San Francisco started moving within 2 days.

    50. If it can provide a ray of hope for anyone, my doll was shipped from Russia and went from July 29 - August 17 with no updates. And now the 19th she is already out of customs in NYC and to my local post office about 3 1/2 hours away upstate. The package seems to be making up for lost time.

    51. @honeyedbiscuit I find customs frustrating as well, I've have a package that has been in the country for 3 weeks and it hasn't moved (it came from the US)
Even though my items were sent via EMS from Russia, I have been told that they are on a ship and I have no idea how long that will take.

    52. @Cap'n Unfortunately, my experience is the opposite! Nearly all of my parcels end up in Chicago or NY, and only during the pandemic were the delays understandably longer than usual. :frownyblush:

@Kaname Kimura Good luck to you as well! It's hard to get any info out of Customs, which is frustrating. It's hard to find anyone who will pick up the phone, nonetheless, give any answers. I am hoping that maybe my package was shipped the slowest method b/c that was the only method available, which is why it's on the backburner compared to parcels with a higher priority. Trying to be optimistic here as we encroach upon 2 months lol...

    53. Oh wow I didn’t even realized the similar thread is already exist.... now I have some friends share the same pain

Normally if my package took this long time I’d be thinking it’s lost, but since two of my packages are all stuck in the same place I guess it’s just their very slow business......

Also funny fact: I sent out a package for my little brother’s birthday gift on August 8th to China, it’s already out of custom. It starts to makes me wonder if the time cost on shipping is based on which lucky container your shipment is in...

    54. @Kaname Kimura I have a package coming by boat from South Korea. My 17track app told me the name of the ship and a satellite let me know it is heading towards the Panama Canal, I assume to NYC and also an estimated docking date. In any case, if you have the name, you can find out quite a bit.

    55. I have a package stuck in Moscow for 2 weeks and another in St. Petersburg for almost a month with no progress. Another in Shanghai for 3 weeks. My other order from South Korea has a flight number now after 11 days at the airport.

As far as USPS, a big slowdown started 3 weeks ago and mostly spotty scans. I'm used to 5-6 days in customs in NYC but now it can be weeks. San Francisco is relatively fast. Chicago and LA are very delayed compared to the past. Domestic mail is slower but there's no customs delay. As I get used to the famous "new normal" I feel very spoiled in the past. Also we now have notices all the time from USPS saying "please wait patiently" as if my lack of patience is the problem, as if there has been no sabotage, which personally infuriates me.

My local USPS told me this past year that all they know is what I know on the website. It's hard to get any decent customer service in good times, let alone now.

    56. @honeyedbiscuit My package arrived in the state that has a hard border closure with the rest of the country, I don't think it will be moving anytime soon.

@Mahgiep I have been using 17track to look up my packages, the tracking hasn't updated since the 22nd of June and I don't think they have listed a name of a ship.

    57. @Kaname Kimura I guess I was lucky to have that information then. I assumed this was true for everyone.

    58. @Mahgiep The force was definitely with you!! It probably also depends on where it is shipped from.

    59. So, it's been 3 weeks now without update.
I made some research and that status in theory means that the package has been sent to my country, but, as I mentioned before, my last package arrived (and changed status) in a couple of days. With that status, is it possible to contact someone to get information?
