Shipping Delaying of shipping because of the coronavirus

Mar 18, 2020

    1. That's odd. My last domestic USPS package arrived really fast and with no issues at all. I know that the delays depend on the zone, but I'd keep trying to know the status.

My Russian package it's almost here!!! I'm hoping that it will be delivered on Monday, let's see. :)

      EDIT:
My UK package is now in the US!!! It's in Miami and I'm hoping it won't be long for it to be here.

    2. My April Story doll (from Korea) arrived Friday!
Took around a month to be delivered.

Unfortunately, Canada post didn't decide to keep my package despite nobody being home and it being “signature required”. Thankfully, I was able to get a relative to swing by my house and pick it up. Won’t be able to pick it up from them for another week though! :sweat

    3. I had the opposite experience this week with DHL. I was home in an air conditioned toom when they came and didn't know they needed a signature since the last 4 dHL packages did not. I got a text message that said no one was home and flew out the door to no avail. I spent an hour doing research and found out they would attempt another delivery the next day. Also found a place to waive my signature on the website. Apparently the sender sets whether a signature is needed or not, but you can still waive it. Worked perfectly and got my parcel the next day!

    4. It seemed like things may have been improving for a time, and now everything has slowed down to a halt again.

I mailed a doll via USPS from MI to CA a week ago, and the tracking has not updated once. The estimated delivery date was last Thursday, and the tracking still only shows that it was accepted at my local post office, and then "In Transit, Arriving Late". I understand that everything is very stressful and the workers are slammed, but one scan would have been nice. Now the buyer is getting concerned, and I don't blame them! I don't even have proof that it left my local post office. I'm hoping it just materializes today...

As far as receiving packages go, I stupidly ordered something from Russia. So I'm just going to buckle in for the long ride. The tracking stopped in Moscow and I have a feeling it will languish there for a few months... I'm very nervous for this package, as it contains the body to one of my grail dolls. I have never ordered from Russia before and I have heard that the post is more slow and rough than usual (although the same seems to be applying all over the world!).

    5. I just ordered from Russia too. So we can commiserate.
My Z.Agram order from South Korea was sent by BOAT last week. It has an estimate of arriving in the US in mid September!

    6. I ordered from Russia too and it was sent by EMS; it has been almost a month, but it's almost here; I was worried that it could take months due to the comments in this thread. Be patient! Hopefuly the wait won't be as long as you think.

    7. My EMS packages from Russia are being sent by sea mail due to the fact that there are no planes going to Australia. I've already waited a month already so I hope I only need to wait for one more...

    8. @~A*K~ that is what I'm hoping for as well, it's been only about 20 days so far so I am trying to be patient!

This is my concern regarding the planes; I'm in the US and if I were any other country, I wouldn't be flying any planes here...
Hopefully, your sea mail is quick! A friend recently got a package via sea mail and it was way faster than they anticipated!

    9. I literally just now got an email from my local post office saying that they were unable to locate my package through email or tracking (the one shipped domestically). Basically the email just went "Welp, sorry".

      ...I'm, uh, not pleased.

    10. That's terrible! But local post offices only have the website tracking like us. Hopefully you can find a better resource at a higher level.

    11. I bit my bullet and just emailed alice collections to let them know my tracking info hasn’t moved for almost 50 days. it was crazy to count that! i doubt they’ll be able to get much more info, but... i haven’t received my goods so .... refund is probably in order :( i have a gut feeling I won’t be getting my order. But we’ll see!

    12. @I<3MySD I hope so too! I know Australia is still sending plans to the US even though no one is actually allowed to leave the country... it's weird.

    13. A few years back, I had a doll go missing in the mail and contacted USPS about it. I got that same email that said basically that ‘we are looking’ but nothing helpful. She arrived three weeks later but I got that same email for six months until I finally got the ‘we tried oh well too bad.’ Which means they obviously did not try because tracking showed she’d been home for 5 months at that point. I rely on usps a lot but they are really kind of useless with communication or fixing issues. I really hope your package is out there setting to the side somewhere and will get noticed and put back into motion soon. It’s so stressful.

    14. I just wanted to find out if there is anyone out there like me that has a doll or parts stuck in limbo somewhere from shipping.
I live in the US and had purchased doll parts from a seller in Russia back in may.
my shipping was EMS. EMS was not supposed to be held up from the covid virus but the tracking shows it supposedly left Russia on may 26th thats were the US info ends and if you check the Russian site it is in Warsaw Poland but contacting the EMS Poland site with my tracking number they say it does not exist .
its been 2 months . the seller said she contacted her end shipping and they said its being held because of covid but I have had something else sent from Russia just after may and also sent to Russia. there was not more then a few days extra in the wait on shipping and receiving the items.
my package was not even supposed to be sent through Poland.
UUHHH its so frustrating. is it actually lost ? 2 months is a very long time and nobody wants to actually look for it.
is there anyone else waiting for their packages out in DOA land?
I wish there was actual people you could contact to get answers

    15. Polish post suspended EMS to the USA in march and hasn't brought it back yet. So if it really is in Warsaw, I'm afraid you need to wait until it is resumed.
If you want, you can drop me your tracking number on priv and I'll see if I can find any info for you.

    16. I've got an order from Alice's Collections in the way. It was sent the 9th of July. It's awaiting a plane now, it seems. I have no idea how many planes go from China to Germany right now, but I'm optimistic. Another, smaller thing from ebay already made it into the country even though I only bought it at the end of last week :aeyepop:. I also recieved some off-topic stuff from Japan during the crisis. So I guess things are fine from my end.
The other day, though, I was trying to sell an off-topic doll on another forum and learned that Germany has suspended small packages from here to the US. My buyer was American so that wasn't great, I could still send it via insured priority mail (UPS is what I chose), but that meant a significantly higher shipping price (like 50$ instead of 20$). The buyer hasn't contacted me to complain so everythings going fine, I suppose. But that was my first real encounter with international corona trouble.

    17. Have you tried checking on 17Track? It seems to pull information from all carriers that have the tracking number in their system.

This thread is all the discussion related to packages delayed because of Covid-19. Sounds like many packages from Russia are very delayed.

    18. Not a doll but I bought a pair of doll sunglasses and today it started to show that the tracking number is no longer available... so I'm worried that it has been lost by mail services too...
Considering that your items sent from Russia- if it's Russian post then they are not trustworthy in general and they don't do well with helping customers track packages, whatever 17Track shows you will be more trustworthy than anything the Russian post says.

    19. In addition to the covid in these summer months that there are fewer people working in the post offices, very strange things are happening, the shipments take much longer than normal, it seems as if they made many unnecessary turns ... or quarantine them... As I have seen for myself.
Sometimes it seems that it has been lost and when you have given up waiting for the package, it appears. These are weird times for everything...
don't be discouraged, I'm sure it will appear !!!

    20. AC responded to my question about awaiting a plane/handed off to the air carrier, pretty much confirming that they really are just waiting for flights ... so i’m guessing certain companies or carriers that they choose to use might have a longer wait time or shorter, it’s just kind of a roll of the dice right now haha.

“I'm sorry for the waiting, please kindly note that due to the pandemic the shipping has become much longer and unstable, the post office said there's not much we can do now but wait for it to move..., the parcel is either waiting for flight to the USA or on its way to the USA, your patience would still be needed for the parcel to arrive to you, thank you dear :).”

I’m not sure if in theory there’s more or less air traffic to Germany from China and there is from China to the USA, but i hope their note gives you a little reassurance too that it really is just waiting and not ... well, lost, like I was afraid of ahaha

    21. I agree with using 17Track for this package. I had packages from Russia sent in April and I just received the last one yesterday. The tracking number was showing as expired on 17Track, but it still updated with results even when the USPS site did not (after the packages entered the US). All of my packages that have been in limbo have arrived safely, so I would remain hopeful. It just took a very long time. Hang in there!

      • x 2
    22. @Karra Yeah, I figured it was something like that. It's nonetheless nice to get reassured. I personally find international shipping a little bit scary at the best of times*_* . Not just wait times, but the gamble of wether or not I have to pick up my shipment from customs.

      • x 1
    23. Mine from China to U.K. is stuck on “in transit” and has been for 9 days. That’s far longer than usual & it’s worrying. Both EMS & parcelforce show it as en route to the U.K., but nothing more. I’m hoping it’s just in a backlog. Will be relieved when it pops up in U.K. customs.

    24. I have the same issue, ordered accessories for my doll back in May from Russia, there's no record of my package when I try to track through Canada Post, however according to the Russian post office my package arrived in Canada and it's being processed through the mailing system.

    25. That is scary, I do hope it arrives to you soon

thank you for the info AmariGem.
      I will try that 17Track.
      thank you, thank you

      hi,everyone,
thank you for the info on tracking and your own personal fears with delayed packages.
although it is still scary to wait and wonder , it is comforting to know that there may be places internationally that are still behind or not running at all for packages. as informed through some of your messages.
thank you so much- captured by your dolls - DOA -family
      love you lots:dance:abow:

    26. Has anyone had problems of their country being blocked from receiving EMS packages from Korea? If so, any workarounds on that? Apparently Finnish post blocks EMS packages, or Korea has suspended EMS shipping to Finland, though from what I hear our local finnish post has no idea of such blockage...
Just frustrating that I know my order is ready but this situation and uncertainty means I have no idea when I’ll be able to receive it.

    27. Might want to check to see if your country is not accepting EMS packages from Korea or vice versa? Though they seem to be resumed for a lot of places...but doesn't hurt to check. I've gotten EMS packages from Korea, but takes about three - four weeks to arrive.

    28. @Lefrin Australia also can't get anything sent with EMS from Korea either. I had to pay for a shipping upgrade to EMS Premium just to get my doll sent; it has been 2 weeks now and it has only made its way to China so far.

    29. @Kaname Kimura This is basically the situation I had with sending to the US. I wonder why. Is it so the system doesn't get overwhelmed?

I got the doll underwear I impulse bought on ebay today. At least now if the doll arrives before her AC stuff comes she won't be completely naked XD. That was fast!

      • x 1
    30. @EagleVision1999 Maybe, it is strange though. I do hope they are able to get the backlog sorted.

    31. Well it must be a birthday miracle, because my package from Russia has just cleared Chicago customs. It was only mailed on July 5th so I am VERY surprised it is already in my country!

    32. Yeah, the international mailing system is pretty scattered right now. I have had a couple packages arrive in the usual time, but a majority have floated somewhere in limbo before eventually making their way to me. I have a pair of Impldoll shoes that were supposedly going to be ready for delivery last Wednesday, but are currently stuck somewhere in transit. And it's not being directly sent to me at this current moment—but I am waiting on a shipping update for an Impldoll Star girl I ordered in October that's been stuck in shipping limbo between Impl and Bjdivas since April 7th. I'm hoping they'll get her sometime soon, but don't want to put pressure on Bjdivas due to them being severely understaffed at the moment.

I see international shipping being sporadic for a while until this COVID situation is finally resolved (which I don't see being any time soon, with how the number of cases is spiking drastically in several US states and select other countries right now). Until then, I've learned to be inevitably more patient waiting on orders that end up stuck in shipping limbo.

And yeah—17track has been one of my go-tos for keeping track of orders during this situation, although I've used several others I googled as well to get a wider net perspective. I with you the best of luck in having your order escape mailing limbo (and anyone else that is, or will be stuck in this situation as well).:kitty2

    33. Update. My package from ac is finally arriving today after 3 months! The wait is finally over.:XD:

    35. @Majorshay congratulations :)

My russian package (EMS) arrived after 21 days, yaay; still waiting for the other 3 packages (2 japanese and 1 from the UK).

      • x 2
    36. @Majorshay Congrats!! This gives me hope that mine might show up eventually!

...and also a little nervous about the order I have coming from Volks in August, and an off-topic order shipping from the UK any day now...

    37. My second japanese package finally got an update and it's been prepared to leave Japan. :)

    38. Update: I reached Australia Post through their FB page and they tell me the boat arrived at destination. So the parcel is probably stuck in a container in a port. There was strikes lately in ports in Canada, soooooo... my poor baby is kept hostage because of strikes!!! :`(

    39. @Catherine_Dessine :( Well...at least you know were it is now...

I've been waiting for 21 days for my AC order and it still hasn't left China as far as the tracking's concerned. At this rate the doll will get here before her stuff.

    40. Just got this on my package that's been sitting on "picked up" with no other scans since the 15th:

      July 30, 2020 at 10:36 pm
Arrived at USPS Regional Destination Facility
      SOUTHERN CT DISTRIBUTION CENTER

      :celebrate

There's still hope for our dolls, everyone!!!

    41. My first japanese package is here!!! I hope the other one starts moving soon :)

    42. I'm waiting on that same shipment. :sweat I've been checking in once a month, just to see if there's any changes, and it's still in limbo somewhere.

    43. The US post office is a horrible mess right now. Even domestic mail is taking more than 15 days. I order a Volks item from their California branch and the post office still have it as received since the 14th. That was 17 days ago and I have another package from Washington that stuck in Illinois for a week now.... both paid priority....

      • x 1
    44. 23 days and counting:(

On the other hand I got some eyes I bought on Etsy from Verona, Italy today that were sent two days ago. Two days! To Germany! On top of that I paid very little for shipping (4,95€). I can't even leave feedback yet, I'll have to wait until the14th.

    45. Anxiously waiting for my Yur to leave South Korea, but from the tracking she hasn't even gone through customs yet so it'll be a while. I know my last package from Iplehouse with some wigs and an outfit took 11 days and 8 of that was before it left the country so I'm trying to be patient but my girl is ready and I'm excited. XD;

    46. Today my package from France was shipped. It’s coming to the US, and I’m hoping it will not take as long as some of yours has. I wasn’t expecting it until the end of this month (and hoping the international mail had started to fix the backlog). I’m not so worried about it getting to the US, but once it gets here, as our mail system seems to be on the verge of a breakdown. Packages are taking weeks (even priority mail), and/or are getting misplaced. I’ve had one say delivered, but where? Not to me! Thankfully it wasn’t an expensive item and easily replaced, but still. :|

    47. Two weeks ago lots of packages arrived but this week nothing (10 items) is moving again. A South Korean company sent a package by ship due in a month. That was a surprise but maybe it will arrive earlier than a flight would leave.

    48. Sorry if this is on the wrong place but I'm wondering if all the stuff going on with USPS should have us worried about potentially not getting our dolls.

Usually whenever I order a doll its dropped off at the post office and then brought to my house. I live in a city so I'm not sure how affected I'll be. I'm honestly just not sure if I should be concerned since I'm waiting on 3 dolls. I understand that times may take longer, but I'm worried about just never getting my dolls when they do eventually ship out.

Any thoughts? I'm hoping to get some peace of mind from voicing my concerns or any advice *_*

    49. Dude, as someone who passed through the lockdown months ago and still received her packages, I can say that you will get your dolls. Just slower than normal.

      • x 3
    50. The threat to our national postal system is real, there are a lot of people who want it gone for various selfish reasons. The best we can do is support the USPS.

But as for your dolls, say something happens and the postal system is dismantled, you would still get them. It would just be through a different carrier, as we would still need mail services, and deliveries would still need to be made.

      Try not to despair c:

    51. Oh dear, I have a head on it's way to a buyer in the US and that's definitely by way of USPS. What's happening on the ground over there?:atremblin

    52. I sold a doll to someone just last week and the postal experience I had was totally bananas lol. I told them to post it priority and with $200 insurance and instead they posted it retail ground with no insurance? Which was extremely strange and annoying, but the weirdest part was that despite the fact that they said it would be there a week after I posted it on the tracking, it actually arrived 2 days later.

      So.

      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    53. Thanks everyone! I definitely have some more peace of mind now now the wait continues.

I ordered a bjd wig and some fabric both from China and it is taking a long time. It's a little dicey right now. So far things from the US aren't taking too long but stuff overseas even with EMS is definitely taking some time.

      • x 2
    54. Is EMS from Korea to USA available? Or does anyone know where I can check what are the current restrictions?

    55. Yes, EMS seems to be available. I’m waiting for a few items this way.

    56. Thank you! I was about to place an order and I wanted to make sure there was no issue. :)

    57. Finally both of my packages have arrived :)
Still have yet to open them.
Package from Korea took 24 days.
Package from China took 10 days.

    58. Ordered a package on July 17.

Seller shipped on 18th from Seoul.

      Expected delivery date 23rd.

Finally leaves Korea on the 28th.

Package hangs out at LAX until August 1.

Expected delivery date August 3! Yay!

Tracking updates to "late but in transit" with no specific info about its location.

It is what it is, but it sure is frustrating.

      • x 1
    59. My package from the UK marked "Out for Delivery" yesterday and now it says "Awaiting delivery scan". It's the first time I see this status from USPS, is it normal? Should I be worried?

    60. I would like to know which Korean companies have had their shipments leave by boat through EMS (to the USA, specifically) recently.

Three of my packages shipped by EMS; two were loaded on a plane and are now on the way to me (SWITCH, a forum member), one has not left the post office since June 23rd (FreedomTeller).

My package from FreedomTeller is a joint order with my friend, so I’m a little worried about its potential whereabouts.
