Shipping Delaying of shipping because of the coronavirus

I’ve had stuff “disappear” in Chicago for two weeks several times.
This week NYC is very slow.
But LÁ is the worst. The only place I’ve lost anything (luckily cheap silicone head caps).
I hate when USPS tell you to be patient after 2 months of waiting! Hahaha. My patience is gone now. Too late!

 

What's the longest time you had been waiting before those packages reappeared in Chicago?
My two recipients had asked me a couple of times why the packages are not moving and stuck in Chicago for so long, I feel really bad to tell them there's nothing we can do except for waiting...

 

Two weeks is what I remember. Someone sent me (around Christmas) interior photos of a USPS facility. It looked like utter chaos. I feel for the letter carriers in Chicago. I notice when things are especially backed up with USPS mail, the scanning stops first. I used to think 17track was best then decided getting text messages to track but if there is no tracking, all bets are off. The mail comes as a surprise. There really is nothing to do but wait. Good news is, it is not lost because tracking stopped.

 

Three weeks with no update I'm sitting tight until the end of the month but I really hope it's possible to get a refund if my doll is lost.

 

Is your package an international package? I have one that has stuck in Chicago for 3 weeks too and has not even departed the US...

 

Yes, it's a doll from Clover Singing (China). Tracking says the airline dispatched it but then the movement died and USPS says they still haven't received it.

 

I have a Loongsoul body stuck in China right now from Clover Singing. It arrived at the airport 1/22. The tracking says “airlines start shipping” on 1/23, 2/1, and 2/2.

 

Ah, this gives me a little more insight into what's probably going on with these packages from China. Although the Lunar New Year doesn't start until next week, looks like airlines might have slowed down in the middle of January. I've had smaller stuff from earlier make it out but our dolls probably got caught up in it. Hopefully, it'll start moving towards the end of the month or March.

 

My parcel finally arrived 2 days ago. It was shipped from USA to UK on the 12th of December via USPS on priority. It had several places where it stopped for 2+ weeks.

Hang in there!! Your parcels should arrive eventually. I almost thought my dolls were lost.

 

@KittyOrochimaru that is definitely reassuring for me right now T.T my doll is currently stuck in Chicago IL :c it just has a little further to go to make it to Raleigh NC. it has me super stressed not gonna lie.

 

I'm thinking I may have been hit by covid and Russian post delays? Had a doll leave Russia via EMS on February 11th and it was last updated as leaving the country on the 17th of February. No movement or any updates since then either via Canada Post or 17track.

I'm starting to get antsy because, wow, longest ems shipping time ever for me, I think. I just want it in Canada at this point and I don't really care if it stays in customs for a few more weeks. I'd love some kind of update.

Wondering if I should reach out to the company I ordered from or even the post office? I've never had a wait like this before.

 

@baxterbrat I've had a couple packages come in from Russia. One took 4 months to get to me in the states. My tracking didnt update for 3 months... I had reached out to the seller but there was nothing they could do. Updates were not being sent to them either. My package DID arrive safely and the box was in very good condition. Which makes me think it was just sitting in the warehouse forever. I say dont be afraid to reach out and see if you can get any kind of update from the company, but also, try not to worry too much. Post is just very slow... c:

 

I have a package probably will arrive tomorrow from Saint Petersburg which shipped on 1/27/21. There were many weeks with no updates. My Russian orders all take the longest with Chinapost as a runner up.

 

All my Russia orders are very slow (on the order of months as well) and do not update once they leave post in Russia. I've stopped checking tracking for them, and just wait for the day they magically appear -- not one has been lost yet.

 

Ditto from my experience receiving packages from Russia. I ordered two (off-topic) dolls from an artist, and they shipped within days of each other...and I got the one that had shipped last weeks before I received the one that had shipped first.

- Awesome, and thank you all so much! I knew in my head that russian post could be a long haul but experiencing it is a bit different, lol. Seeing similar but succesful stories definitely makes me feel better/eases the anxiety. I was too optimistic about international shipping being better by the time my doll was finally casted but oh well! Looks like I just gotta strap in and wait! But I guess when you consider how covid messed up the casting wait of course it would mess up the shipping wait too!

Yep, almost certainly! The longest I've ever waited for a package was from Russia - I think it was close to three months. It fell completely off of the radar within a couple of days, which then dragged into weeks. I was worried, the seller was worried...and then all of a sudden it hit the States, and was delivered a few days later. I have no idea why the Russian post is so sluggish, but they do seem to come through in the end.

 

International packages from Europe don't seem too bad lately (granted, I haven't ordered anything from Russia), but ugh. I have a package from China that has been in limbo for over 3 weeks now.

 

I checked my tracking today on a whim and the radio silence is finally over! Tracking has been updated and now it's in Canada Post's hands instead of that terrible no update limbo!

I have a package in limbo coming from Alice's Collections, the latest on China's tracking is "Aircraft arrives in Port" so I hope that means it's on the way to the US. USPS site just says something about it being prepared. I stress too much over this stuff I know... I am generally pretty lucky (I hope I didn't curse myself saying that) but dolls are expensive (!!!) and the waiting with no updates makes my eyes twitch.

 

@SylveonPaws I have a package in limbo since early Feb (shipped in January) from Clover Singing. I am hoping it’s not lost because Christina cannot recoup her loses and I would have to wait another 4 months for the body to be produced. Not good for either of us. Have you asked Alice to look into it?

 

@SylveonPaws hey!!! its okay to worry, cause i'm the same when my packages are in the shipping process c: but please do not worry too much! i think USPS is just letting you know they are waiting for your package to arrive at their facility c: it could also be there but has yet to be scanned in c: i'm sure everything will be fine!

 

@mahlenneth @So.Spice Yeah trying to not panic yet. I'll give it some more time and reach out to her if I need to. I want to place another Alice's order but I wanted to wait until I got this one, so it's making me extra antsy! It's just clothes though so maybe I should go ahead and do it. Decisions!

 

So I'm a little confused, I had 2 big orders recieved in the UK on the same day, however only one order was delivered. The other orders tracking information has not been updated since the 1st of Apr. Now I know we had the easter Bank Holidays, however the tracking has not been updated at all.

 

I'm currently now in the "tracking hasnt updated" group c: its been a full week with no updates and I'm a little frustrated. I just wish there was some kind of movement but hopefully things will update soon.

@jp_bestie I'd find it more concerning if they were shipped by the same person together. Its possible your orders arrived with a bunch of other packages and they just havent gotten to your second order yet. I'm sure its still at their facility and safe, its just taking them awhile to get to it. Hopefully an update comes to you soon :c if I were you I'd defs be frustrated.

 

Honestly the tracking has stopped at exported and received at Heathrow Airport. Iplehouse has said its still in transit and could take up to 14 days but I don't believe that to be honest. Parcelforce have said it hasn't reached them yet

 

Oh god, the saga of my alien continues.

After spending 6 days just chilling at the post office in Mississauga I received a tracking email saying my item couldn't be delivered and is in fact being held in a secure facility in Scarborough, Ontario!

Had to contact Canada Post and they have no clue why it's being held and considered undeliverable so now I've a support ticket open.

Guess I'm gonna have to email Tamikan Space and let them know there was a snafu and we have an inquiry going on. I'll do that tomorrow though.

Anyone else having issues getting packages through Guangzhou, China? Ordered a few pairs of eyes through Dolly Planet late last month and it left China on the 30th then returned on the 8th of April with a “security return.” Then it left again and I’m just waiting to see if it makes it this time or does the same thing again.

 

Yes. I have had delays from Guangzhou.

 

My tracking is stuck at "Exported" since 10/04. From Korea coming into the UK so I expected a delay but I've today seen on IG someone else in the UK had a parcel ship from Korea on 14/04 and her tracking has surpassed the exported stage and she's awaiting the customs fee.
Kinda frustrating not knowing if it's lost in transit or just delayed in a pile waiting charges. I wish it would just update to let me know it was in the UK at least.

 

I've got a Yo-SD dress from Etsy coming into the US from Thailand and it's been stuck on "origin post is preparing shipping" since April 3rd. I've also got a Nine9Style order stuck in Cincinnati right now according to DHL. I don't believe either package is lost, just caught in limbo while the postal system figures out if and when they're going to start moving again. I've been facing similar issues with domestic shipping, too. I ship my dolls via priority 3 day and some are arriving to their new owners in 2 while others are taking over a week! And they're all traveling a similar distance from me!

Honestly, I don't mind delays and waiting and unpredictability, but it's incredibly frustrating to check the tracking every few days or so and realize it still hasn't moved.

 

@Thespian I'm totally right there with you.. at first I was checking the tracking every day for the first week or so but then I stopped. Now I just check every few days only to see it hasnt updated at all... and its been a month. So I'm pretty frustrated atm. Not at anyone in particular, just frustrated that its been in the hands of the post for a month now and tracking hasnt changed... -.-

And I think something that really adds to the frustration is that, I had 2 packages ship the same day, from the same area, and I've since gotten the one. But for some reason my other one just hasnt moved at all...

 

So just as a marker/meter note for everyone, I finally just had multiple shipments arrive all at the same time - and all about 3 months total transit time on the dot. Most (all?) of them were from Russia to the US. Tracking stuck at "origin post preparing shipment" and never changed.

There is hope!

But now I'm being much more careful about what I'm ordering and how I'm choosing shipping for things I have to order because I'm moving in about 3 months. Feels a little crazy to have to plan out that far in advance!

 

Ahh thanks for the ray of hope. I think things out of Russia must be slow rn, I'm at 2 and 1 month waits for some stuff I ordered...

 

I don't want to say that I am glad I found this thread, but I am panicking less now... I ordered gem of doll gaia and her tracking has not updated in 7 days. She is stuck on the phase of "Arrival at the Destination" for one tracking website and the other site states "the plan has entered the port." All while USPS is giving me the "origin post is preparing shipment." ALL provided by EMS shipping express.

I am glad that I am not alone in suffering with the quirks in the mail system lol. It has been quite sometime before I have ordered any BJD and I just don't really remember the shipping being so weirdly updated like this. Anyways, cheers and I hope everyone receives their dolls, heads, outfits, wigs, and etc. soon! Best of luck everyone!

 

I have 3 parcels stuck in transit at the moment. I didn't realize until now just how bad the international delays still are>.>. I'm in the Netherlands, I have an incoming order of multiple Dream Valley dolls from Alice's Collections in China that was shipped out on May 27th, left Shanghai airport on July 1st, and then the tracking stopped updating for weeks. In the last week of June there was finally an update that the parcel had landed SOMEWHERE on June 2nd, so it had still been MIA for over 3 weeks at that point. No updates since, so I finally decided to file a complaint/request for information with PostNL, who told me today that the parcel has been sitting somewhere in France for the past month. EDIT: And as I was writing this I suddenly received a text from PostNL that my parcel arrived in the Netherlands and I need to pay fees O.O. So there is hope!

Then I have a doll body I bought from someone on DoA which has been in transit since June 1st, didn't update for the longest time and was finally said to have been processed by Chicago international hub on July 1st. It's been stuck at "in transit to the next facility" ever since, it might be stuck at customs here or it might not even be in this country yet.

Last parcel is two pair of eyes I ordered from Oobie Doll that have n=been in transit from the US since June 28, I'm sure they'll take a while to get through Chicago as well.

Chicago is really bad.
I had a package of 2 pants and a wig shipped to me from California to Massachusetts usps. I figured a week to ten days. Tracking stopped then suddenly I got word it was in Brussels, Belgium. The seller made an inquiry and a few days later it arrived back in the US where it languished. It finally arrived on Tuesday. It took almost a month. I hope my package had a nice vacation in Europe! I didn’t!

 

My most recent EMS package was in this exact state for around 5-6 days before it popped through customs; this was like, literally last week that it was delivered, so I wouldn’t worry too much. I do hate when it’s in limbo like that though, I was definitely refreshing the tracking every morning in impatience.

 

I paid for EMS to get my doll heads back from the face up artist in the USA (I’m in Australia) and they haven’t even left the states yet and it has been over a month. They have been in Miami for a long time.

 

Did any of your tracking #'s update when your items got delivered? Or did they just all appear magically lol?

 

By the time USPS updated she was already through customs and then showed up the next day, well before the ETA. I usually get pretty fast deliveries from the LA customs point, but it was still a nice surprise after being in limbo.

 

Ive come to complain! Chicago customs is ridiculous! I live in NY, most of my packages go through there and don't take long at all. I now have a package from sweden that has been there almost a month. I think i've been spoiled with NY customs only taking a day or 2.

 

The delays are so so long.

 

Just to give everyone an update on my doll, it took 15 days for the tracking to update After the package status of "Arrival at the Destination" or "The plane entered the port" Just hang in there everyone!

 

my anxiety is steadily mounting as my secondhand doll shipped from singapore has not updated since july 5th and is still stuck at "Departed from Singapore Hub". doesn't help that somehow singapore post downgraded the shipping from priority to economy without the seller's permission, and the seller also hasn't responded to my messages for several days now about getting a refund for the extra shipping I paid for priority. Really nervous this doll I payed so much for on layaway may not even get to me

 

I'm in the same limbo rn, I really hope my packages are going to get here eventually. Several of my packages haven't updated their tracking now for close to twenty days. I'm wondering if they're actually moving and not updating on the track and trace, or if they've just been sat still for about three weeks. I'm usually very patient, I'm just scared that they'll somehow 'dissappear' in the chaos of international shipping. I wish the tracking would update if only just to say 'yep, ur package still exists' lol

 

just had my doll get through chicago customs, its supposedly going to be here on the 7th so we'll see.

 

My packages came! Suddenly the track and trace updated retroactively for several days, which was a little strange but I my packages didn't get eaten by the void! I'm so happy lol

 

My Legenddoll package is in shipping limbo since the first of September. The latest update tells me there are delays due to corona shutdowns, so I figured my shipping woes belong here even though it hasn't been that long yet. I was hoping to get her before the 10th of October (because I'll have some free time then), but I'm not convinced that'll pan out...

Yeah… there have been a bunch of shutdowns, packages are backed up like crazy and the cost of freight is 5 times what it was a year ago. On the other hand, there just seems to be a lot of luck involved; I’ve seen transit times everywhere from a week to two months coming out of China EMS since the shutdowns started up towards the end of July or so. I think the inconsistency honestly bothers me more than just overall long transit times lol.

Fingers crossed yours starts moving soon though! I’m waiting on a very unlucky package right now, but I’d like to hope that makes me the outlier in threads like these and everyone else gets theirs in a better time.

 

I agree with that, if nothing else it would keep me from compulsively checking the tracking Really, I like things somewhat predictable.

I hope your unlucky package moves soon, shipping limbo is the worst part of waiting (unless you're a Dollshe customer...)

 

My package from the US to Europe arrived after exactly 100 days. It spent 2 months flying around Chicago, and after that a month in customs.

 

My package from Spain has entered the no tracking update void. It’s only been 12 days, but it’s unnerving not knowing where my doll is. Like others have said, I need just an update to say, yep, my doll is still in the system.

 

Lol, I shouldn't have complained because my doll has now arrived in my country. Although now I have customs shenanigans to worry about

 

Me too! My doll arrived today! Only reason I was a bit concerned was that the tracking number only worked for Spain, and not compatible with the United States postal service. So once the package left Spain, there was no way to track it. I’m so relieved and happy.

 

Complaining is like magic, I swear. I just got an update tonight my package arrived in the country too. Tracking claims it’ll be delivered Wednesday… hoping it’s accurate since it’s already been close to 2 months.

 

Welp, after chilling in the terminal for a week it got to the inward office of exchange and, if the tracking is to be believed, basically passed through customs in minutes.

It has now been brought to my local distribution center.

I can only conclude that customs wanted to get those packages out of the door as fast as possible because my package really shouldn't have passed the smell test regarding declared value. This is a box with an 1/4 scale doll in it that's labelled 18$!
I expected it to go to the local customs office (and for me to get a message to provide a Paypal receipt and go pick her up), but maybe I really get lucky here. If everything goes smoothly I should get a delivery on Monday. We'll see.
