Shipping Delayed Shipments from China?

If it was sent via registered airmail, then this is normal. The tracking sometimes won't even update until the item is out for delivery. Something that has to be kept in mind is that all parcels go through China customs on the way out of the country (to be processed and checked as far as I know), so it adds on extra time for the parcel before it is enroute to your country. EMS shipments from China also take quite a bit longer than EMS shipments from Korea and Japan as a result; however, if you haven't received any updates in ten days and it was sent via EMS this is unusual. Although, holiday shipping is already beginning to ramp up, so that might also factor into the lag for mailing times.

So, what am I supposed to believe, here? That my package has been on a plane for nearly six days? -___-

 

First off -- The 'international dispatch' in your tracking just means it has left the original post office it was taken to, not that it has made it on a plane yet, unfortunately...hope your tracking updates quicker than mine did. ><
I just had a package shipped EMS on December 8th...as of the 9th, it was leaving a sorting center, according to the tracking (that was the date of the 'foreign international dispatch' on the USPS site...but it mentioned a sorting center on the Chinese EMS site)...and it seems that it never got anywhere else for almost a full month--until this morning, when it arrived in my city! There is not even a note about customs in there...but the stamp on the box says it went through customs on the 3rd of Jan, yesterday! The tracking just...stopped, and my package went poof, for nearly a month. e__e Then it started up again once it was actually here.
As far as I can tell, Chinese EMS is being really hit or miss right now...some people's packages are flying through...but some are crawling.

 

Thanks for the tidbit of info about the international dispatch. I've been in the doll hobby for a long time and have dealt with a slew of different shipping issues, but to hear about an EMS wait as long as you've had... that's just unacceptable. Why are we even paying for EMS when the shipping is taking longer than registered airmail? Is there any way the shipper can get a refund? EMS is guaranteed 3-5 days. I know I've gotten shipping refunds when shipping overnight or express mail domestically.

I'm glad that you finally got your package, though. Looks like I should hunker down with a good book and wait out the storm. :\

 

Ok good so it's not just me. I've tracked many of my packages and with 2, all activity has stopped on Dec 10. Nothing has updated since.

In the end, Registered China Airmail took a Month. EMS, I had a problem with Chinese/Hong Kong EMS and that also took 3 weeks.

Yeah I know, I paid for EMS and it wasn't cheap, it was like 26$ from HK. It got stuck and the tracking did not update for a while.

Registered Airmail, it didn't even move! The Seller couldn't really do anything about it -__-"

 

Well, finally my package is in NY, after sitting somewhere for nearly a week. Once things hit NY, then generally arrive to me very quickly, within 24 hours. So hopefully the wait is over. I hope things get straightened out in China because these wait times are ridiculous. I feel lucky that mine wasn't a month like some!

The WORSE I've had with China Post was with an ETSY seller, it wasn't dolls but art supplies.

It took 2 MONTHS before I got my package. The tracking didn't work, they just scanned it once, then a second time when it hit Customs in China and that was it. After a month, it got scanned in Canadian customs, but for 1 MONTH my package sat there with no indication of ever moving. One day I got it when I came back home, not even signed for -_-

 

I suggest you talk to your seller, thats what I did, She told me that this might happen and to told me to be patient ( Yeah I know )
Like I said in my old thread, we constantly got in touch to see if it ever got updated and we worked out an solution that if it didn't move by X days she would refund me the Entire package because it was insured.

Was your packaged insured? ( I guess so since it has a tracking )

 

Just piping up to say that I'm having the same problem... an EMS package that has shown "foreign international dispatch" since December 28th, and a Registered Mail that hasn't gone beyond "origin post is preparing shipment" on the 29th.

I've ordered two things in January that were also EMS, but from Korea, and they got here just as quickly as ever.

I'll admit I feel a tiny bit better seeing that I'm not the only one, gives me hope that my stuff is not lost. >.< I'll mention the refund option to the seller that uses EMS.


Edit on 01/13: Well, I got my Registered Mail package today, but not my EMS package which was mailed sooner. o.O It is a mystery.

Edit on 01/18: According to tracking, my EMS package arrived in the US TODAY. Three weeks to the day after the "foreign international dispatch" status. Insane. -_- Well let's hope it hurries home now.

I didn't have a problem with my China EMS shipping but registered airmail is really a problem. I have 3 RR packages from china. One was shipped out earlier and it is now still stuck in Guangzhou whereas the others that were shipped out much later have already reached me! The seller asked me to wait another 2 weeks to see if things move. My friend has a non-dollie-related parcel which is also stuck in Guangzhou so I'm guess Guangzhou side might be one of the problem?

 

I have two packages shipped via Registered Airmail from China. Both of them shipped over a month ago and while one of them had arrived already, the other is still stuck in Singapore when I tracked it last time. The one I had received when I tracked it last was also stuck in Singapore for over 2 weeks before arriving to me. I find it baffling that it's taking so long to arrive to me since I'm located in Asia as well >.> One of my EMS packages was shipped from China back in December, it took five days to arrive.

 

Even though I did receive my EMS package about 2 1/2 weeks after it shipped, Guangzhou is where mine sat for the entire time. :\

 

I was given a tracking number for my package, which is shipping from China, the beginning of Dec. & the status has never changed since then. I've tried contacting the seller & e-bay said to give it more time as it is a foreign shipment. But with the 45 day rule with paypal, I have begun an inquiry. I have always been surprised how quickly things travel around the world, Rosy took only a couple days to travel from Korea to eastern NY/USA. So this wig order has been very disappointing.

This isnt a doll related package, but recently i ordered something from HongKong that would take no longer than 14 days to arrive. So after 1 1/2 months had passed i was going to contact the seller then it finally showed up.

The tracking on it said that it left China on the 20th, but the USPS tracking hadnt updated until it arrived to me! USPS really lacks in updating any of their tracking, it goes from "origin post is preparing shipment" to "delivered" so there is no in between steps for them, and when you ask why they tell me "they dont have the same systems as us". Which i understand, but am starting to not believe, expensive things come by mail USPS should update you better on where your stuff is at.

Basically what i mean is, my parcel LEFT china rather quickly, but it took weeks for usps to get it to me. So...

 

Ok well this is pretty weird... because I had a parcal delivered from China (Registered Mail) just like a week ago, it only took just over 2 weeks from posting to getting here and this was with the UK in chaos because of the snow and the christmas stuff too.

I'm currently awaiting another package from China and it only took 2 days to get from China to the UK (EMS package.) I haven't received it yet, so can't say how long this will actually take to arrive, but my point is, both my packages from China have gotten into this country super quickly and the one that was delivered was done so quickly too. I'll update when I finally get my other package which according to the website it's scheduled for delivery in a day or two, but I'm basically not having any issues getting packages from China right now...

 

I too have a package that was shipped on the 28th coming EMS from singapore. USPS has not updated...and my friend also had package and she oredered it before the christmas rush in decemeber and it shipped and then didn't show until like 2wks ago. In fact she had contacted the doll company to make sure and they wer elooking into it when it finally arrived so...I don't know...USPS can be a bit wonky I think.

 

I dont think its just China Im tracking a package sent EMS from Spain that has no updates since foreign dispatch on Dec 23rd. on either Spains trac n trace or USPS.. I thought EMS would be much quicker then this.. It hasnt even hit customs yet.. Sigh

 

@ArcaneDesires not all parcel from China has this problem, all my other China registered airmail (RR) articles reached me within 2-3 weeks but one parcel which was shipped out way earlier than the others is still stuck in China. I suspect is only those going through Guangzhou and maybe a few other area will have this delayed problem.

 

Yeah that's what I was trying to say. It doesn't seem to be everything, because my latest package from China is now at my local depot. It does seem to be perhaps things coming from a certain area, because mine came from both Hong Kong and Shenzhen and are both here totally fine.

I hope everyone's packages turn up soon! This is really sucky for you all.

 

I have a dress I bought off eBay that shipped around Dec. 28th and it still hasn't gotten here. Here's what tracking says:

So its been in Shanghai in Foreign International Dispatch for almost 2 weeks now. >< Not sure why. Perhaps it has arrived in US customs and they are getting picky again? The seller said that it is probably because of the New Year holidays that are going on in China, but dosn't the New Year Holidays start in February? Ugghhh! I just hope it gets here soon!

 

I ordered a doll dress that was shipped to me using EMS. That was my first experience using EMS, so I was quite worried when the tracking number never had info on it. I ordered it on January 3rd or 4th, and it arrived on the 10th, I believe. No tracking whatsoever, but it arrived safely. Compared to everyone else here, my wait time was rather short. The item was shipped from Korea, so that may make all the difference.

Smaller packages seem to be fairing much better at getting into States quicker for some reason the bulky or heavier packages are not.. Sigh!

Been reading alot of reports off ebay and Etsy and such where sellers items just arent getting thru on time whatever is going on Holiday. Terrorist activity, Weather its all affected the mail something awful. Can you imagine all that was held up w the holidays and weather and then on top of that all the newer stuff that came in the ports must be overloaded with items that are just sitting there. and you know the postal workers are not working any harder to make it go faster.

 

Im having the EXACT same issue. I ordered a doll wig (SD size) on the same day I ordered my doll. my doll has arrived and Ive even gottne a replacement head since the first was damaged and....no wig. Ive waited almost three months now. I contacted the seller and they said to contact usps. I emailed usps and I dont have a reponse yet. all I know is this is ridiculous and I hope I never have to wait this long again. it still says origin of post is preparing shipment >__<

 

I should report that my package finally arrived yesterday. I was so glad...but it is odd how customs and tracking and stuff with the US postal service is. I am worried because I have another package that the girl said she was shipping this weekend...I hope it arrives soon and without issue.

 

Just want to add to this thread that I am having a problem with China EMS too...
and I'm getting really angry about it!
I bought stuffs through an agent back in November and after all the mess the seller made, the agent pursuaded me to use China EMS... saying it's faster and about the same price as the Hong Kong Airmail I requested... =_=

Yea right...... my parcel has been stuck in China since 1st December and no updates since then!!!!
It's been over 6 weeks!! Even surface mail could get into UK by now!!
I paid more for being delayed. Thanks China EMS for that
the agent contacted them and they only said they're sill working on posting the parcels out... some parcels which were also stuck in China from the agent had just arrived UK last week... and mine? Still nothing............

I SWEAR I'LL NEVER USE CHINA EMS EVER AGAIN!!

edit: it's just China EMS, Speedpost (Hong Kong EMS) never caused me any problem!

 

How strange, I had a package sent to me using China EMS sometime in mid December and it arrived to me 1 week later. Though tracking was very bad. I always thought using EMS was the best option :/

This last week, I finally contacted the seller thru a Paypal complaint about my long awaited package. Since it was nearly the 45 day timelimit for refunds I asked for more information or a refund & was amazed to receive a refund the following day. I feel badly for the seller if their products are truly stuck in the postal center, but am relieved to not be waiting any longer. If the package ever does arrive, I plan to contact the seller to repay them.
I don't think this was an EMS issue , this was coming USPS so I suspect as someone suggested it is a matter of regional postal center having a problem. In fact just today another friend was saying EMS is the best way to go...
On the other hand, I received a doll which shipped from Korea on Wed. & arrived in upstate NY, USA by Sat. when the postal system is working it is really amazing!!

 

I still think it's a problem only China EMS have...
I agree EMS in any other countries really are the best option, but NOT China's EMS...
the agent I used to buy stuff from China sent out a load of packages which 7 of us got stuck in GUANGZHOU, and this 7 packages goes to a number of different countries...
so I really don't think it's the problem of individual countries' postal system... I am quite convinced that it's China EMS (or Chinese customs) : /

 

I got my package from China EMS today and would have gotten it saturday if I had time to go pick my babies up. I've honestly had no trouble getting packages from China at all...

This is really weird. I guess it's just luck as to where the package is actually shipped from and whether your package gets through properly or not... That sucks.

I asked a seller about my package being delayed and he said it was due to the Chinese New Year. Some people were taking vacations. Something to factor in.

 

I'd like to add my two cents here. I also have a package stuck by china EMS.

It's a doll dress and a pair of shoes. Needless to say, I'm not impressed.

By contrast, my other package (coming via JAPAN'S EMS) was shipped on the 16th and is currently being processed by US customs.

Im still waiting on mine- the USPS people said they have no record of the package so....I contacted the seller again and he appologised. he said there was heavy snowing in his region so packages were delayed. Im not sure if thats true but whatever.

My order for RubyRed Galleria just shipped, for some reason I thought it was based in Europe, but its actually in Hong Kong. It has been saying "acceptance at Hong Kong" since January 21. So its just sitting at the post office. Great.

I'm going on a month on the dress I got off eBay. Hopefully, it'll get here by the end of January, but I doubt it. Uggghhh!!!

 

My mail is still stuck in Guangzhou and so is my friend's. At this rate, I think they will only ship out my parcel after the lunar new year in Feb. God knows if I'll eventually get it in Feb or March. zzzz

I'm having the same problem. My order is being shipped via Hong Kong post. It was ordered on the 5th, shipped on the 6th, and hasn't changed:

Destination - United States of America
The item (RB033184514HK) left Hong Kong for its destination on 12-Jan-2011

I'd at least like some kind of update. =\

 

I'm in the EXACT same boat. I mean, quite literally, the dates are the same and everything. I paid on the 5th, the doll was shipped on the 6th, it left Hong Kong on the 12th, and I haven't heard anything since. Apparently there is some sort of delay having to do with packages over 1 pound entering the US. You know, national security and all that good stuff.

The good news is, people ARE getting their packages. One person on the thread had a package sent on the 9th of December and the tracking just updated on January 22nd, saying it was in customs. I think at this point in time it's all a waiting game.

 

Yes there are delays. alot of packages mailed in Dec still have not arrived. I myself have an ems package mailed mid dec with no updates other then it left Spain Dec 23rd, We are all left wondering will we get them eventually or not. It is an ongoing problem and is affecting alot of countries that have mailed packages here.all we can do is have senders start claims and wait for something to change on tracking. you will not find any updates from Customs and USPS is no help at all giving out misinformation at best since they are not part of customs they know nothing of what is going on. your best best is if you feel your package is delayed more then 29 days have your seller open a claim. thats about the best that can be done at this time.

 

My package was nowhere near a pound though, that's what was throwing me off. But, it did arrive today. The box was a little crushed but nothing inside was hurt at least. I hope you get yours soon!

Ive given up on my wig. I think the seller screwed me over and ebay said its past the deadline to report anything so whatever- I lost $15 and now I will have to buy another wig. preferably from an american seller.

 

I finally got my package Friday, so, it took a month. I'm just glad its finally here. I have one more on the way, hopefully this doesn't take a month like the last one. ><

 

My package left customs today! I haven't had any updates on tracking since the 12th. Yay! Things are getting through!

Although now, we're in the midst of snowmigod over here, so it could be awhile before my doll shows up on my doorstep. But she's stateside now, so that's something!

 

That makes me nervous about my package. I've had no updates since the 6th.

My boyfriend ordered some cables in early Jan. that just arrived yesterday. Hopefully, that means I'll hear soon.

Dec. 27th was my first payment date and there was some delay in when the package was sent out. Therefore, my order was sent Jan. 4th.

I have until Tues. the 8th (9th is the 45th day) to open a paypal claim. I feel bad because my seller seems very nice and I'd really like my items, but I've got $67 in this and it's been over a month. I think Monday or Tuesday is when I'll open the claim on both my items (paid separately) if nothing changes.

Two questions:

1. How do you deal with it if you've gotten your money back but the items still arrive? Can you send the seller an e-mail and offer to pay them for the items you finally got or is that rude?

2. Is paypal's 45 days business days or 45 actual days?

 

If it makes you feel any better, I've seen people whose packages were sent after the sixth and already arrived before mine. It doesn't seem like they're going in any sort of order, but they are going through stuff.

I got my order from RubyRed Galleria yesterday. It came faster than I thought it would! Not too sure if I will be buying anything from Hong Kong for a while tho. . . One month for a doll dress is a bit much. . .
