Hi everyone! Expecting these two cuties in the mail and I've really struggled to find any size references for them. If you have ever made clothes for a bean/classic, or own one of the two, could you please share some info? I will be eternally grateful! TIA
I’m following, because I just received a Picasso Bean today, and I have a Picasso classic on the way. Not crazy about the outfits they came from, and I’d love to make them something custom.
I’m looking around for patterns for my dearmine bean. I think I may need to make some from scratch, I’ll be sure to share if I find any or make some!
I feel like maybe making a dressform for them and then making your own might be your best bet! In other news I am now in love with Picasso send help
That’s a really good idea!! I hadn’t thought of making a dress form. It’s not something I’ve done before (there was never a need) but I’m excited to give it a go! Aha, I know the feeling. Picasso is a cutie!
I'll be making one too, probably sometime next month when the one I put on layaway makes his way here. I'll do my best to share whatever I come up with on this thread!
I haven’t had much time or energy to make a pattern from scratch yet (I’ve tried but had little success). However, I did find that Barbie Chelsea dresses fit the beans very well! I had some from when I was a kid. I don’t know if pants and shirts will fit as well. Calico Critters clothes do fit a bit loosely, but are useful for getting an idea of size and how to put something that small together.
Not sure if you are still on the lookout, but I'm waiting on a DearMine CHOPIN Beans that I intend to make clothes for. I'll make sure to post any patterns I make here
There are Japanese sewing books for making clothes for Calico Critters (or Sylvanian Families as they're known in Japan and here in the UK). I have family in Japan and they got me the first two for Christmas a while back. I've also seen Japanese pattern books for knitting or crocheting clothes for Sylvanians and for sewing clothes for them from felt. None of these books are available elsewhere and they are written in Japanese, but the diagrams are pretty easy to follow. Since they're patterns, it should be possible to adjust them to fit beans. Here are the links to get them from Amazon.jp: Spoiler: Open for links https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/4834749061/ref=pd_lpo_1?pd_rd_i=4834749061&psc=1 https://www.amazon.co.jp/シルバニアファミリーの着せかえBOOK-レディブティックシリーズno-4714/dp/483474714X https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/48...737f9&pd_rd_wg=KqI6D&pd_rd_i=4834782026&psc=1 And they're also available from Japan-based Etsy sellers, like this one: Spoiler: Open for links Sylvanian Families and Calico Critters Miniature Dresses and | Etsy UK Sylvanian Families and Calico Critters Miniature Dresses and | Etsy Sylvanian Families and Calico Critters Fun Dresses and | Etsy UK
