Dearmine Nocturn (1/4 Ram Anthro) & Dearmine Lupy (smaller than 1/6 Axolotl Anthro)

Aug 4, 2015

    1. I'm really enjoying the variety of anthro bjds... a ram/sheep/goat critter and... an axolotl! Just wow! I usually like boys, and larger sizes... but mini-sized dolls are very convenient, so Dearmine Nocturn was tempting. Plus, it was around my birthday and I'm an Aries... so I sort of had to have him!

I tried to resist a Dearmine Lupy for months and months. The little cute tinies are hard to resist, but they're a bit too much like candy to me-- something I really should have, but really want. I had put Nocturn on layaway and just when I was going to pay him off, my resistance to a Lupy crumbled and I asked Dearmine if I could add one to my Nocturn order. They were cool and allowed me to do that (saved a bit on shipping at least!).

Dearmine uses a nice sturdy doubled-corrugated shipper box, but EMS still managed to put dents in it. Luckily the doll boxes inside were fine.

Under bubble wrap, the goodies! To the right is Nocturn's fullset outfit and white wig. To the left are some Dearmine Bean-sized outfits I'd ordered (smaller than 1/6, actually... pink kimono, pink ballerina intended for Lupy, and outfit intended for my Picasso Bean).

      and gift plastic folder--
      [IMG]

Under that are the two doll boxes--
      [IMG]

      Pretty golden-yellow color--
      [IMG]

      Inside, little outfit and CoA--
      [IMG]

Also, elastic, eye putty, and glib animatic acrylic eyes -- in reddish brown color --
      [IMG]

Adorable print on the zippered padded pouch, with pocket --
      [IMG]

Inside-- ties around the neck, holding body in place. Wrapped tail and head frills--
      [IMG]

Head pieces attached... but the magnet came loose in one. I'll have to go super-glue it back in--
      [IMG]

      TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

    2. Here's the bigger box for Nocturn--
      [IMG]

      Inside, leaflet and CoA--
      [IMG]

Under that, the bubble-wrapped mummy and bits--
      [IMG]

      Eyes and elastic and putty--
      [IMG]

Unwrapped bits: ears and horns and tails, with magnets glued in already, and mummy--
      [IMG]

Underneath bubble-wrapping, face-plate and foam-paper over the head; everything well-protected--
      [IMG]

Unwrapped. Poor boy looks a bit skinny and plain. I'm going to have to blush his hooves and fingernails a bit before I get him dressed--
      [IMG]

Dearmine are not bad posers. Not kicky. They stay put well. Pretty good range of motion. I usually try and stand them up at this point, but I'm too worried about getting him blushed and don't have a good flat surface anyway. --
      [IMG]

But he sits OK for having digitigrade legs--
      [IMG]

Outfit for Nocturn: cool fuzzy pants, coat and net skirt --
      [IMG]

      TO BE CONTINUED!!!!

    3. Some quick blushing of black and some dark brown on the hooves and the hair above the hooves, and on the tail, and the fingernails, with pastels--
      [IMG]

Oh, and some lines on the horns, but I'll need to work on that a bit more--
      [IMG]

      Cool semi-styled wig--
      [IMG]

      ...and dressed!

I just love the fuzzy pants! Nice ombre-like shades of color and great texture--
      [IMG]

I'm super-happy with him. He's got great attitude!

      Love the monochrome b/w look!

    4. And here's Lupy in the pink ballerina outfit. It came with something to put around the neck (lace) and a head-piece with a magnet attached which is sort of sticking to her head-frills--
      [IMG]

She's with my Pipos Tomo. He looks HUGE next to her!

I blushed her little tail thing a bit--
      [IMG]

And put a very little bit of blush on her fingers and toes, and on the back side of her head-frills--
      [IMG]

Soooo hard to resist a face like that!

I think she will be called Citlalli, which is a Nahuatl female name meaning "star," and Nocturn will be called Ash.

      Thanks for looking!!!

    5. They are both so awesome!!! I LOVE Nocturne's outfit, those pants are the greatest thing ever and that jacket is so cool. He really tempted me aswell as the Lupy, but I think I am more in love with his outfit than the doll itself. :sweat But he looks great! And that axolotl......the Cute is slowly killing me. :XD:

    6. I have to admit that an outfit will be very influential in whether I buy a doll, sometimes! I definitely liked how they styled Nocturn.

And the Cute totally killed me! I already had Nocturn on layaway and was trying not to buy more dolls, but Lupy kept calling to me. And I am totally weak when it comes to dolls calling! (although I don't even think an axolotl would be making sounds... so I think I'm just a crazy doll-hoarder at this point!) *_*

    7. Hooray for another Nocturn! I love the blushing you did and how you added detail to his horns. I still need to blush the tail on mine. Your Lupy is just the sweetest thing ever and I am so incredibly tempted to buy one! :D

    8. I adore DearMine's sculpts and your Nocturn is amazing! What a gorgeous outfit, and I love how masculine he looks. And little Lupy is cute as can be...she's truly irresistible.:D

    9. Even when buying a fullset, bjds are never 100% the same, which is just so cool. Mine's already different from every other because I'm mucking about with the tail and hoof blushing, since I cheaped on the company body blushing! (hoof blushing is easy! faceups--I'll pay for those!!!).

Those Lupys are just ridiculous! I really shouldn't be buying things because they are so cute, since there is cute EVERYWHERE... (so--ouch! to the bank account!)... But the whole idea of a chibi axolotl bjd got to me, and Dearmine did such a good job with the sculpt and faceup... agh!!!! Good luck with being tempted!

Dearmine has too many alluring sculpts, to my mind! My poor bank account is getting killed! (but, of course, I'm so glad they are out there making these great dolls!)

I think they did a great job with Nocturn's design. I love the goth theme. I sometimes think it's just old and done, and then people come up with these great designs and I just fall all over again!

And it's interesting how things look more or less masculine on dolls, particularly rather big-eyed cute dolls, like these... with long-haired wigs! I mean, underneath all the clothing, it's not obvious what the physical gender is... But the outfit does give him a masculine look. Probably the more tailored lines of the coat? Hmm... Hard to say, but they pull it off pretty well, I agree!

    10. Omg so amazing beauties! Really great that dearmine let you order Lupy at the end. And the fullsett looks so great

    11. I was super tempted by Lupy too, but she's just too small for me! I'm so glad you got one though!

    12. Heh, yeah, I was happy they let me order my Lupy. It was near to the end of her order period, too! On the other hand, I'm sure they weren't crying because I wanted to get another of their dolls! :D

Hey there! Well, I keep trying not to get the tinies, because they ARE too small, but I'm SO WEAK!!!!! Now I have a bunch of little micro-tinies that I barely do anything with and it's kind of crazy. ...but they are so frickin' CUTE!!!! *_*

    13. Wow these two look amazing!!!!!! I'm obsessed with Lupy's rn haha I love the blushing you did on her as well :)

    14. Not to sound like a Hipster or anything, but I've always LOVED the anthro BJD animal feature combo dolls! That being said... haha.. I'm glad to see that they are becoming more popular in the bjd community.

Wow, love these photos! My only current anthro bjd is a Luts zuzu Delf Toya, a little bunny girl.

    15. I only did her tail and a bit on her hands and feet and the back of her gills... Just some orangey blush. The whole idea of an axolotl anthro just got me!

Heh, is it Hipster to love anthros? That's cool! I don't know why, but I'm into them. I love fantasy dolls... like Sooms, with animal parts, so the animal-headed/shaped dolls are not so different. Plus... animals... Just awesome anyway! :)
