DearMine Doll Dear Shine Line

Quick bit of an update here regarding tail issues. I had a response back from Dearmine regarding Catherine's tail. Just to add, if anyone has a similar problem as I did then Dearmine are more that willing to offer to sell replacement tails, which I didn't doubt Their customer service is usually wonderful, and just like most good makers or companies they are willing to help out with replacement parts when needed. =^-^=

At the moment, I'm still waiting to see how my fix attempt goes before I decide what to do next. It was also mentioned in the response I received that the metal rod joint option for the tail had already been looked at before but they'd had issues with it and they'd decided not to go that way, which is fair enough. They are considering making some changes to the Dearmine body, apparently, which could be interesting.

 

Interesting that they considered the rod alternative. I wonder why it didn't work out? Did they mention if the body changes are only going to be for the Shine body, or all DM bodies? That's a very interesting development, I do wonder if they are considering adding a torso joint?

Good luck with the tail restoration! If all else fails, at least you'll be able to purchase another one and Catherine won't be tailless for long!

Thank you Anna I'm hoping they're considering the torso joint or too, whether lower waist / hip based, chest / under-bust or both. Even just something closer to the lovely Dear Lover body with its wonderful pose-ability based on that single lockable chest joint would be perfect. The Dear Shine girl body is otherwise an absolutely gorgeous shape so I hope they don't plan to alter the shape itself too much.
Only the DearShine body was mentioned to me as something they were considering looking at altering at the moment but it would be interesting to know if it was something they were considering for the other bodies too.

Catherine's collar & cuffs are by me, as is her wrap / shawl. The skirt is by King's Shop but was hand-dyed midnight blue by me (was originally dark slate grey)

I haven't taken any photos of Catherine's "Fixed" tail yet (as I find it's still easier to leave it off / unhooked for changing her) but will try to get some this week.

I still love the colour of this King's shop wig on her (and I'd had a lot of fun filling it with little plaits and hand-dyed lace - which you can't quite see a lot of here sadly)

 

Nice! I really like the darker colors with her skin, good contrast, plus very luscious. Is that top silk velvet? I really like the cuffs and collar! Really adds a touch of drama.
I commissioned the dress from Azurielle here on DoA, mostly because I cannot set grommets for the life of me. I need a tool that is easier than a hammer to use.

 

Sorry for the late replay, sistercuervo Thank you The wrap Catherine is wearing is double-sided and , yes, one side is a lovely chocolate brown silk velvet and the other a pale mint rayon & nylon net lace dress fabric They were remnants I have had sitting around for the better part of a decade and thought I would have a bit of fun with them ^^

Ah, tiny grommets are a problem for me too but a little bit easier since I learned to use a block of timber as opposed to my mini anvil on one side when I hammer them. It is otherwise far to easy to crush them, especially those tiny little 1/16 & 3/16 eyelets usually used for doll clothing and footwear

With first Dearmine's Dear Shine Diana J & F Rose heads and now the upcoming new Dear Shine Vincent head on the way, I thought it was about time we got started on one. I have started it off by comparing Dearmine's Fine Normal with SQ-Lab's Real Skin, finally taking the time to photograph my SQ-Lab SG hands on Catherine's body. I love the SG hands, so beautiful and delicate, and so much fun to play with!

 

I see that pictures of the new Dear Shine boy, Vincent, have been posted up overnight. Sadly, I'd have to say he's not what I was expecting. However,the new limited Diana release for Summer is very beautiful, gorgeous work on her limited face-up by Dearmine.

 

JenKat Same feelings over here too! Well kinda glad, becouse I don't have money spend to dolls. Plus I really should get that body for Diana head...

I love her ears. If I got her, I think I would order the white, though, as the NS looks a bit peculiar to me.

sistercuervo, she'd look lovely in the white. I don't find how my Diana looks in the limited Fine Normal NS resin but her face-up gave her more of that right blend of human and feline characters for this to work. The gorgeous new summer girl's face-up with that wonderful nose paining has a much more feline look to it. I'd love to see how she looks in pure white!

 

I don't suppose anyone could recommend a body that I could use for my potential Vincent? I want to get him in pure white, but finding a body is proving to be quite difficult.

 

The new Diana and Vincent are so nice! Super torn about bringing them home. :3

I would love to but won't be able to manage it this time around. Hopefully there will be many more gorgeous releases for her sculpt in the future. Still surprised Dearmine haven't posted up pics of the new Dear Shine body, though when it is being sold as an available option for Vivien.

@JenKat, sadly I probably won't be able to either. Agreed about the body, but at least they've listed the changes on the product page. I'm hoping it's just a placeholder and they will be posting photos soon.

 

Joining a quiet discussion here. ; ) I'm going to be ordering my Diana this weekend. (JenKat, your gorgeous girl played a huge part in this decision. ) There are so few of her around, but I'm awfully excited. The only reason I hadn't gotten her sooner was the lack of bust joint in her lovely body...well, now that's been reissued, so!

How is everyone? If I may, a question for other Diana owners out there...what size eyes does she best take? 18mm looks nice, does she go down to 16mm or do they gap at that size?

Oh I wish. If they ever do I'll have to PM them and see if I can't purchase them separately. That and mobility thigh joints/double jointed knees...but that might be asking a bit much. ; ) Yeah, they released a new body, the main differences of which seem to be a bust joint, and magnetic (not strung) tail. I just hope the magnet is nice and strong!

@Tonboko Yay someone to squee with! I'm sorry they wouldn't sell you just the tail...I love them but they're really specific with a lot of things. I suppose it's in respect to their original creative visions though! New hands and feet, huh?! Did they say anything else? Oh I hope they sell those separately! For parts like that I suppose there might be a little more of a chance. : )

 

No, but I was specifically asking for lager claws like the Shine line boys have. I need a big cat girl with big paws!

 

Ooooooh cute large kitty paws! Oh my goodness if they do yeah, I really hope they offer them separately - or at least are willing to if someone owns their prior models. I hope they keep paying more attention to their Shine line, there aren't enough anthros in this hobby, period -- but especially of a lovely larger size! Plus IMHO Dearmine's creative team is FANTASTIC and recent releases have surpassed the recent dolls of mythical SOOM and I need more. xD Do you have a DS girl, or do you intend on getting one?

I had a dream last night that I got my shipping notice today...! But, alas, it was not a premonition. I'm starting to begin they were a little overzealous quoting me before the end of June...but ohhhh I want her here for the long weekend!

 

AHHH she shipped! I had *another* dream last night (srsly, Raine...) that she shipped and didn't bother checking until this afternoon. I took the day off work 'cause I was feeling cruddy, and that was a pretty good boost to my week's motivation! ^_^ Hopefully she'll be here by Saturday, but we shall see. One more Dear Shine doll to add to the few in existence!

I wanted to share a photo of my Vincent and Diana heads, as I finally have bodies for them both. Nighttime photos are not the best I know, but I'm just so excited to finally have them together. Especially since I have time over the holiday to work on some outfits and accessories.

 

Wow this thread really is dead. The kitties need more love. I need to take new pics of Dinah so I can spam this thread.

Dang.... I kept waiting until they where going to release the girls with the larger pawed hands and feet. I guess that will not be happening now.
I am going to beg them one last time to sell me a tail for my cat girl that I already have.

 

I would like to get a cat head for my DS girl, I think. Not sure about the color match as she is a couple of years old. Decisions!

 

Do it! I would love to see this combo. Worst case most white skins can be matched with a little bit of blushing! I took a pair of super white hands and was able to match them to a mellowed/ivory body with no issues with just a bit of chalk pastels.

 

Aren't those rose ears gorgeous? I just love them.

 

Does anyone know if the rose ears can be ordered separately?

 

You can try asking, but I have inquired a few times over the years about getting just a tail and I have always been told "no".

Hello everyone. Bringing back a VERY old thread here, but Dearshine Arthur will be purrfect for a character I want to shell. I know they have mostly discontinued the line, but it seems they re release the heads sometimes. Does anyone know how often they release them, or at least Arthur? I am trying to decide if I should bide my time and wait to get him from the company or if I should start hitting the secondhand market harder. I have been purrusing the market here a few times a day to see if one pops up but so far no luck.
