Ah! So I've always known I'd have a Dearmine eventually. Being that cute animal BJDs are what got me into the hobby, I saw it as an inevitability, haha!

I was so excited to open her up that I forgot to take more photos. The box is very cute. I was really surprised how hefty she feels for her size. I don't know. I think I'm still new enough that every new doll's weight still takes me by surprise.

So I checked my order after I opened her up and these actually were not the eyes I ordered. I got the plain purple with her, but as you can see, these are not plain! These are the Moonstone eyes that cost $22 extra! They're so beautiful. I feel a little guilty they I didn't pay for them.

Moonstone eyes are low-dome by the way, it anyone's curious.

So Beautiful! :chibi I wish I took more pictures!

Dearpet engineering obstervations: the arms are work fine, but they have those types of double joints that take some fiddling to initiate. Wrists are great. The legs are sculpted and stung oddly to me. She doesn't like spreading her legs at all, make her near impossible to stand. I'll probably get her a stand. I love the face plate system. Practically the whole head comes off and it's makes for a very elegant look. No wig required! Magnet on the ears and tail work great too. Overall, I can't say she looks super natural when posing, but she looks charmingly doll-ish nonetheless, if that makes any sense.

Welp, there she is! She fits right at home I think <3

    2. A wire through the torso into the both legs fixes the can't pose the legs problem.

    3. She's a cutie! Those eyes are very cool.

Yeah--the stringing on the new bodies makes the legs stay close together. I haven't done anything to fix mine yet... but it's nice to know it can be fixed.

      Congrats on your dollie! :kitty2

    4. She's adorable! I'm waiting for my first Dearmine doll too (although it is a bean rather than a pet doll). The face plate system looks very intriguing too me, I'm excited to see it in person!

The Moonstone eyes also look beautiful on her! :love

    5. Dearmine faceplates are pretty much the whole head! They have a nice, tight fit so I don't worry about knocking the face plate off... in fact, it's a bit of a struggle to get it off! And the fit is usually so perfect, it's hard to see where they part. But that's a good thing!

Here's a picture of my Cocoa Bean...

Oh-- and the bean bodies are strung differently than the new Pet bodies and can stand with legs open (sort of stand... those tiny limbs and big heads makes it hard! I usually have mine propped up against something!).

    6. Oh wow! That's good to know! I'll have to try it out. Thanks!

Thank you! I was so pleasantly suprised by the eyes! Now that I have her in my hands, I should have guessed the legs would be this way based on company pics. Eh, it's not a big deal though!

Thanks! And congrats on your incoming bean! I'm sure it'll be great. And yes love the faceplate! With the hole being on bottom of the face, it makes it pretty easy to put in the eyes too, I think.

    7. Here's a quick snap shot of my Oz with wired legs showing how much it helps the posing. Yes it can stand like this as well but I wanted to show the legs stay on their own.

    8. @scripple -- Do you know how thick the wire is that you used? And did you run it all the way up the leg and down the other? Or from the thigh up and into the other thigh?

    9. Two options I've used for dear pet legs, each a single wire from ankle to ankle.

6 inch long - 14 gauge anodized aluminum wire - Wired though the hole in the lower torso down to the ankles.
8.25 inch long - 14 gauge anodized aluminum wire - Wired through the upper hole in the torso down to the ankles.

The longer wire gives more stability for front back motion. 16 gauge works ok as well. I prefer aluminum as it is commonly used in armatures, holds up to lots of bending and tends to stay where you put it instead of springing back to a different location. Anodized keeps it from rubbing off on the inside of your doll.

    10. Thank you, @scripple !!!! That info helps a lot. I only tried wiring a doll once, and it was a 1/3 and it didn't work out well at all. Knowing the gauge and type of wire is so much nicer than guessing! :XD:

    11. @april you're welcome. Smaller wire is easier but gives less hold. Thicker wire like the 14 gauge tends to bind the elastic at the peanuts so you have to pull them down to free the elastic if you remove the hand or foot. If you're not up for that kind of issue go with 16 or 18 gauge. It doesn't work as well for posing but still helps and is easier to handle. Probably easier to find at a local shop as well.

    12. @scripple That's so helpful! I've never wired a doll before either. Thank you so much for sharing what wire you use. Your Oz looks like he's doing great too

    13. You're welcome. I'll probably be wiring up my Lily tonight. Poor Oz has actually been kind of neglected since he arrived. I got to picking out eyes but never a wig and never put his outfit on him. :(

    14. Very cute! Congratz

    15. Boy howdy is she lovely - I was super tempted by this Lily myself (honestly Lily is just a beautiful sculpt from Dearmine so I shouldn't be surprised I was!). Congrats on the random upgrade in eyes, they look wonderful in her. I've got a Dearpet from before the body renewal....and frankly they just don't really stand in general. Or at least, not sturdily. But I can see we've got some great suggestions in here already for you to find a way around that so that's awesome! I hope you're able to get her to stand like you'd like her to someday.

(And personally, I'd still get that stand, or a chair, just in case!)
