DearMine Dear Pet, Classic 20cm & Beans 12cm Anthros Discussion Part 3

Jun 10, 2016

    1. I'm looking to grow my Dearmine anthro family (I put up WTB's for Debon, Siamy, Air & Lincoln) - used to have them but had to sell for financial reasons :(
On a happy note I have a few new babies coming home! Including Loc, Marie and Belle. I'm ecstatic! I love the old 20cm line. Will definitely share pics when they get here!

    2. dearpet siamy used to be a basic model, i wonder if they'd still sell her that way if you emailed them or posted on the Q&A? :O

    3. Thank you! I saw her but am looking for the old short cat body.

I did email them and they said they have no old stock - but they plan to release a new Dear Pet in spring this year. I don't think they'll use the old style body, so I will just look on the secondhand marketplace :)

    4. oooh that's very exciting, i wonder what kind the new dearpet will be!! :D
also, you might have some luck looking on japanese sites as well, since dearmine is more popular overseas than it is in the west. dollyteria and yja are good places to look. ;)

    5. Thank you, that's a great idea! :)

    6. Mandarake has a bunch on sale at the moment.

    7. Finished styling my Dearmine Agrippa. Bought her as a fullset, but decided to change her face up.

    8. Your Agrippa is so cute! I love the custom makeup you gave her.

I ended up getting Mochi Cake Siamy on the large body. I'll try to hybrid her on the 20cm pet body, but it looks like the neck size will have a big difference. BTW, Dearmine is very flexible on their sales! Even though she's being sold as a fullset, when I emailed them, they were able to sell to me at a discount without the outfit and faceup. :) I love this company!

    9. Hello everyone! I'm sure this has been asked a dozen times over, but if anybody could humor me I'd really appreciate it.

I am now the very happy owner of a Ruby Spring, and while she came with a full set I would like to style her fashion differently. Because she is this odd in-between size I've never had before, I am a bit hesitant on where to begin shopping for cute clothes. So, I'm hoping anybody here can point me in the right direction. Do these dolls fit clothes for Blythes? Realfees? I'll take any help I can get.

      Many thanks!

    10. I had luck with Blythe clothes on my old 20cm body, not sure if the new one is any different. You could always download a free sewing pattern and make a quick mockup to see how it fits :)

    11. She would be able to wear Madame Alexander vintage outfits for 8" dolls, as well as several seamstresses on the board sew for her. PepperoniPizza is excellent. She is also the same size as Pipos' cats. Check out my albums for an idea.

    12. That is such a smart idea! I never would have considered that; thank you. I will definitely look into this avenue as well as browse some Blythe clothes in my free time!

    13. Many thanks! This is very helpful for me :)

    14. Thank you so very much!
Congratulations on buying Mochi Cake Siamy! Hope it'll work out with the body.
And I also love the company, their service is very good!

    15. I bought a Dearmine Picasso Classic secondhand the other month.. and I have to say, literally every day since then I've been on the Dearmine website contemplating buying more LOL.

I guess to other owners -- is it normal to order direct, or do you use a dealer? And how long are wait times usually? I'm moving in a few months and trying to see if I should wait to order ^^; I mean I should for $$$ reasons but the beans call to me.....

      • x 1
    16. I definitely use mandarake and Yahoo Japan auctions as I like the look of the much older dear pets! I did buy directly also from dearmine. Denver doll carries new releases as well as fabric friends dolls for some older ones

      • x 1
    17. Ahhh thank you so much for such a fast reply! Definitely going to be exploring Mandarake now... And keeping an eye on Denver doll.

    18. One thing to note is newer beans come with the v2 body that can actually stand on its own. It's still a bit of a balancing act with the big heads and tiny feet but at least it's possible unlike the older bodies.

    19. I've always ordered from Dearmine directly, they're easy to work with. But I've never bought a secondhand Bean outside the Marketplace here.

    20. Apologies for interjecting as a lurker, just wanted to say while I don’t have experience buying anything new from DearMine, I did buy two of their special sale retired/display dolls ( directly and not only was their customer service amazingly sweet (they even sent us those cute little Picasso socks as a gift), I had the dolls in my hand from Korea to Canada in less than a week, and didn’t have to pay any customs. It was kind of mindblowing, but I don’t think the stars would align like that again. :XD::sweat

    21. Yep, same here. I like ordering from Dearmine as they are very generous with layaway and usually send you some little goodies in the box. Denver Doll is pretty good, too, although I've only ordered wigs & clothes from them. Fabric Friends & Dolls is an excellent dealer, very trustworthy.

    22. Ahhh, you all are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. I think I will likely end up ordering direct from Dearmine with all the nice words y'all have to say ^o^ I like Denver Doll too, but I want the wider selection of direct I think.... I'm very excited to hopefully expand my kitty legion!

    23. Dearmine is one of the quicker companies, they often complete orders within 3 months. Unless you have your eye on a time limited doll right now, I would suggest waiting as likely it'll be ready to ship in the middle of moving and that would be a hassle to make remember to get it sent to the right address. I don't know how complicated your move will be but my experience is there's so much to think of and do, you don't want to add another thing to keep track of ;)

      • x 3
    24. You make a really good point!! And knowing it's not a 9 month wait time... I'll definitely just wait til I'm moved. Esp because I'm moving across country, haha. My envious heart almost got the better of me.

    25. Sounds like a good plan! Just remember to update your paypal postal address before you order, it's an easy thing to forget to do ;)

    26. I have a question about the Dear Child compared to Dear Pet. Does anyone have both? Photo comparison would be lovely. I have two DP's but no DC. I'd love to see a Dearmine lineup sometime

    28. That's so awesome, scripple! Thank you so much for showing me your collection. The DC is considerably larger than DP. What kind of clothes have you been able to find to fit them?

      • x 1
    29. I ordered some random 1/6 clothes from Alice's Collections and they fit fine. They're a much more "standard" size than the DP so I think in general it'll be easier to find clothes that fit them.

Here's Marie in some of those clothes as an example of the fit.

    30. She has very pretty hands. I wish I hadn't sold all my 1/6 kids now! I do love Alice's Collection things.

    31. Dearmine dropped concept sketches for Summer dolls!
      LUPIN IS BACK.

I hope I love their set; I've been waiting for a Lupin for so long!
Any color but black, I hope... I'm so sad I missed the chance at the moth-themed milk tea Lupin set.

    32. That's great news! I've been waiting for a new lupin release.

    33. Aaaaa the dearmine Pets are so good. I'm curious, do you think it's possible to get one of the heads by itself? Or is it better (or possible) to just find one secondhand? I love Loc/Marie's head sculpt, but I'm trying to build a mouse, and mouse BJDs are rare and specific. Loc/Marie's head is the perfect shape.

Either way, I'm gonna be shopping for a Dearmine next, I think.

    34. Does anyone have an example of the "AIN18 Gory" eyes?

    35. I don't have them in person but they do have pictures on their website here.

    37. Hello there!
I want to share you my little lamb - Abby ^_^
Near train station have so beautiful wildflowers that I just have to take a photo of her.

    42. Awww. Sorry haven't been on on a while.
I appreciate your kind words :D

It's a shame to admit but at one time I wanted to sell she (I have such an "itch" because of the doll to which I devote little time), I even made a sale post, but changed my mind.
      She's too cute :whee:

    44. I see some dolls are listed as [contact us for a price], rather than a 'sold out' note. How does this work, exactly? Do they sometimes have extra outfits left over and will cast a doll to fit?

    45. It's been my experience that it pretty much means sold out. However, they sometimes have one in 'the back room' - maybe a model that was used for photography. Basically, it can't hurt to ask, and you may get lucky - but I wouldn't recommend getting your hopes up too high.

    46. I've tried emailing them about out of stock dolls, for maybe 5 of them? No luck for me *_*

HOWEVER, the Japanese secondhand market on Mandarake, Yahoo!Japan Auctions and Dollyteria usually have several Dearmine Dolls available :)

    47. Oh, and a few more Dear Pets have joined my collection ^^ I LOVE their older releases so much. I de-wig them and give 'em Swandoll jewel eyes :)

    48. The jewel eyes look great on those, and I love the glitter effect on Marie's horns and ears. Marie is the sculpt I really like and plan to keep an eye out for.

    53. my first bjd!

anyone else with the fullset for lorenz have trouble posing him to stand on his own? i think his poofy pants shift the joints around when i try to straighten and set them up. but i can always grab a stand or just make him sit.

i like more contrast in my designs, so i might blush his horns and hooves with black pastel to give them a little more pop.

      • x 8
    54. Oh my gosh, he is so cute! Congratulations!
All of my dearmine anthros in this size are not able to stand at all. Or sit. The legs go wonky inside the clothes and it's not really possible to fix unless they're naked. I would recommend just a stand underneath the clothes

      • x 1
    55. An Ob11 stand works, or get him a fancy chair. :3
I have a little tripod stand I use for a few of my tinies.

I don't have any Beans with the updated body to see how they compare to the original ones, but yeah, Gen1 Beans can't stand on their own.

      • x 1
    56. Congratulations @lynxie :D what a wonderful first bjd!
Mmm I have only dearmine classic Picasso but I'm able to make him stand Technically I think... It's not really for the faint of heart and I don't usually try for pictures.
There is no shame in using a doll stand of course :aheartbea (I'm just always too stingy and lazy to get myself any)

      • x 3
    57. makes sense! i'm used to fashion dolls and anime figs which rarely can stand up on their own anyway, so i'd rather not risk it. time to go hunting for doll props
