I fell in love with one of the limited Dear Mine winter dolls, and part of me wants to buy her so badly but I just finished paying off my first doll and I don’t have the money saved up. Part of me wants to wait and see if Denver Doll will eventually have her in stock, which is where I got my first doll, but I’m afraid she may be sold out before I save enough or see if she ever gets in stock. So I was thinking about using their layaway option and wondered if anyone can share their experience? I searched the threads here but the last reviews I could find were from a few years ago. I’ve never ordered direct, much less used layaway, so I’m a little nervous. Does anyone have a more recent experience with Dear Mine and/or their layaway? Thanks!
I ordered both my Lupy and Salt on their layaway, this year. I've had no problems at all, it's a very simple setup and they answer questions quickly on their Q&A board. One thing to keep in mind, is they don't start on your doll until it's payed off, so in that way it's not the same as ordering through a dealer who (I assume) orders the doll once you send the first payment.
That’s good to know! I looked for layaway info on their site but the layaway page is just a list of payments due. So I thought I would see if people had good experiences with them before poking my nose into the Q&A page. I don’t mind if they don’t start on the doll until I finish paying for my order, as long as they hold my place. I’m just afraid she’ll sell out!
Once you ask for the layaway option on the board, they will make a section especially for your order on the Layaway page. You can even pay off an order early through it, if you want. All you need is to list what options on the doll you want, so they can set up the page for you. The website tracks every payment automatically, it's very convenient.
Thanks for your help! I posted last night and already had a reply this morning, I was surprised it was so fast! For some reason I thought they only answered the Q&A board on Wednesdays, that might have been from an old review of the company. I’m so excited for my first MSD size doll! It will just take a while to get her haha.
This thread is interesting! Does anyone know what is the max amount of time a layaway can be for Dear Mine?
