Materials DAS Clay?

Apr 6, 2011

    1. I'm wondering how good Das is for making BJDS. I saw it at Michaels when I was buying some la doll. This is the first time using la doll for me.. it's very different from normal clay! lol

But How does Das clay compare to it? Can it be sanded, and drilled after dried?

      Thank you

    2. Das can be great to work with after it's dry, but it tends to be very chunky and finicky beforehand, so most people don't like it. But yes, it can be sanded and drilled just fine.

    3. DAS is similar to Ladoll when dry but quite different to work with. I've done my first bjd dolls with this medium but pass to Ladoll that is more smooth and has fine grain.
this is one of my doll made using DAS:

and this one is made with Ladoll:

    4. It’s an old post but this helps since I’m just starting out using clay, and Das is the one I’m using currently.

    5. I started with DAS as well; it works great for base layers, or as you get the hang of working with clay.
I also swapped to LaDoll though, I find it harder to get nice details with DAS.

    6. I find it similar to Creative Paperclay, but it's a bit harder to work with if you ask me. I bought some that I mixed with some other type of clay, I can't remember what it's called. I'm really liking the mixture though. I'll update when I'm back home in a few days and tell you what the other brand is.
