As someone who really doens't know what she's doing... When I import my pictures and look at them through the Windows viewer, they look fine - nice bright, natural colours. As soon as I put them in Photoshop to resize and crop, they looker darker, grainier and colder. All the blushing fades right out, too, and I can only see deeper colours. It's really frustrating. I'd be really grateful if anyone can tell me what is happening, and how to stop it.
I'm not sure but I think but I think it could be to do with the colour setting in Photoshop.. you can go to Edit > Colour Settings and there should be an option to change everything that gets loaded up in there to look the same as it does normally (like the 'monitor' option.. That'll sort out the colours but if the graniness of the images doesn't go then maybe its the image size of the original that you are trying to change. It depend if your using high quality images with lots of pixels or not! Hope that helps somewhat
Photoshop does seem to turn on colour management by default. Took me a while to figure that one out. To disable it, in Elements 7, go to Edit>Colour Settings, then "No colour management" in there. Should be similar in other versions of Elements, and probably totally different in the full blown versions. Of course, if you do want to use colour management, that's another story...
