that's good news. i'm trying to get rid of the floating heads i have now, not add more as for pikki haven't seen him/her yet. i'll have to go take a peek!

Auntbear, I'd love to see your hybrid if you decide to go with a Darak body for your Choco. I think it'd be cute!

Tomorrow I hope to finally have a day to concentrate on face ups. And then I want to make Faust a little dress.

 

Ooo I want to see the face-up Pony! Darak bodies are such lovely posers I'm surprised they're not a more popular hybrid option... I guess they're not popular enough yet!

I love Arwyn's new outfit! It's so feminine on such a feminine girl. I think Darak isn't well known yet but itching they're beautiful. The girls are very girly which is so sweet. . Did you make the outfit? It fits her perfectly.

 

i hadn't thought of them as a hybrid, mostly because i didn't know you could buy the bodies separately but i'm going to save up and get a new body for choco as soon as i can now, i definitely want to try it. if it works i have a couple of other dollzone heads i'd been eyeing that may end up on darak bodies too. i had decided not to get them 'cause i was really unimpressed with the dz body.

 

I've been toying with getting a MSD remi body for my MSD girls now that i know I like the DC hybrid. It poses so beautifully! I'd put a DiM head on it. I wonder if the DiM Sweet heads would work on the tiny Darak body? I like a lot of their sculpts too.

 

The Darak-i body is lovely and practical in all sizes! I look forward to seeing any hybrids both for fun and for my own future plans.
[MENTION=22219]Pony[/MENTION], no I commissioned the outfit but I've had to pull the back of the dress with a clip so it fits properly, it's about 6cm too big on the chest... (And that wasn't the only sizing issue... >.<) I really should start sewing again though. Maybe during the Easter break. Anyway, she looks rather angelic in it so it's okay I guess.

Yes, 6 cm is a huge mistake especially on a commissioned outfit. It is very pretty though. Thank goodness! I think the Claire size dolls are so feminine and pretty. It's a very nice size.

The face up is so sweet. I like the light tan resin as well and her face is just adorable!

It was just generally inconsistent, I also ordered a little cardigan but that is so small it barely fits her (she can't move her arms in it). The little shawl is also rushed. So I won't go back to the company again, but I'm okay with it I guess. I was after something like the company photos of Claire, as this is what made me fall in love with her about a year ago when I first started looking into BJDs.

Here's the other picture I took of her in it. I might have to take on showing how massive it really is.

I think you're being a good sport about your commission, Kamia. I do some sewing and I'd say that your seamstress probably didn't work with the measurements for Claire at all. It's almost as if she had a dress made for a thicker doll on hand already and just sent you that. It isn't right and I'd have been upset! It does look really big.

Ah FluffleNuff, Opal is always so cute! I love seeing pics of her.

Here is my whole dolly family. You can see how small Claire (Arwyn) looks compared to the MSD girls (Darak-i Hera, DC Queena (on K-01 body) and Darak-i Semy). Darak-i Claire will always be super special to me though xD I love her so much!

I love my Claire also! Were did you get Hera's corset? It looks a Raouken corset. If it is, what size is it?

 

Yep it's Raouken! It is from her minifee line. They fit perfectly (and also fit the k-01 body from dc pretty well too!)
What size wigs do you buy for Claire? Not sure which dollwig size to go for 4.5-5 or just 5....

 

What a PRETTY group of dolls! They're all beautiful! I really like Claire and there's something about Hera that I really like too.

Thank you gatodelsol! I think she's perfect too, the poor girl is just being vain and insecure HAHA! Her eyes are probably the best investment I ever made, they really bring out her character!

 

I measure Claire's head at 5.25 inches. Most 4-5 wigs will be too small unless quite stretchy. The wig she is wearing in my pictures is an old Cherish doll wig. I think it is a 5-5.5 inch size.

Wow! That light tan colour is so realistic looking! Was gonna consider a lati yellow next, but next to the light tan remy, Remy's skin colour wins hand down!!

The two I have from her are from Darak-i so I've never really thought about it, I have been having a bit of a dollwig obsession recently (bought three wigs from them in a week...) so was wondering if she could fit the 4.5 - 5 range (they tend to be cuter styles than the 5inch range).

where do you get your wigs?

 

It's funny that you mention Hera's eyebrows because I'm not in love with the eyebrows on both of my Darak heads either. The rest of the face up is gorgeous. But the eyebrows aren't working for me. I think it's because the eyelashes are very dark and the eyebrows are a reddish blonde. They don't seem to go together. But I think I could tone down the eyebrows pretty easily so when I have time I think I'll do that.

Even the dolls who don't have them in their pictures do! I should take a picture of all their eyebrows. I agree, they do always tend to be the wrong colour.
Sometimes I wish Claire had the default face up I fell in love with!
Out of interest, does anyone have Claire's body with the larger bust? Is it harder to dress?

[MENTION=13596]auntbear[/MENTION] - I get my smaller wigs (and larger at the moment) from a Japanese etsy shop called dollwig. They are amazing! They tend to have more styles in smaller sizes, it's just the wigs I want for Claire are in the 4.5 - 5inch section rather than 5 -5.5 inch which I think would fit better...

 

i've seen that shop! i got a wig for one of my tines there and i agree i found the styles i wanted in the 4.5-5 inch size instead of the 5-5.5 inch that i needed they have some really cute wigs though.

It says in their Korean website that it is temporarily sold-out.. so I wonder if they're ever going to release it again...

Hey [MENTION=69663]geeonek[/MENTION] as far as I remember she wasn't for an event (the MSD tan Remy was limited to 10). (Anyone feel free to correct me!!) So maybe it's worth sending them a message, they are usually quite good at accommodation requests for 'out-of-stock' stuff.

 

Can't decide between a blonde, chestnut or blue wig for Opal! Was thinking that since she is a forest sprite, maybe the blue comes when she is using her powers? Haha I don't know! ><

On average, how long has it taken for Darak-i to reply to your messages? (Just out of interest!). Generally it's within 24 hours with me, unless Lee needs to find out some info. The only time I had issues was around New Year but of course, I would expect it then!

 

For me it took about 2 days to get my email replied.. i had to email them since it took awhile to get my q&a message answered.
I just put In my payment for c-remy tan. Can't wait xD

I took my Claire home with me to show my Mum as I told her about my doll collection and she really loved her ^^ What a relief!!

I ordered the smaller bust even though the bigger ones look good on her.. I figured she would fit clothing better & I have some ot doll clothing ready for her anyway

I have the small bust too. It's handy if you want to commission stuff because it makes it closer to an U-noa Chibi (obviously a slimmer top, but closer than if there was the large bust :P) I've commissioned clothes from Momoko doll seamstresses, Blythe seamstresses and people who have an U-noa Chibi. I think my best fits are from Wimukt who sized down a few of her patterns for me
Let me know if you find stuff that fits straight out of the box!
