Customs Customs in Belgium.

Sep 21, 2009

    1. I'm curious about how much they charge for packages in Belgium because I ordered some dolls and stuff from Fairyland together with a friend so were over 1.000 dollars so I'm afraid I will need to pay a lot of customs.

    2. bumping :bump

    3. bumping again

    4. Have you searched on google to see if there is a website for Belgium customs?
I can't speak for Belgium but here in Sweden we have to pay about 32% on things over 50$ send from outside the EU.

    5. You can try ordering the dolls trough triskel fantasy, their a dutch dealer.
But then the waiting time is longer.
Or just ask fairyland to put a lower value of 2 figures on the box.

    6. Have you tried asking this in the dutch forums ? Bjdcafe and sweetaddiction ? I don't have any experience with it myself I only adopt dolls ;)

    7. on the dutch forum sweet addiction there is a whole topic about this
      you must read that
you must pay 19 procent taxes and then you must pay the customs also
it depends on the value of the package

    8. I'm not sure of belgium, but in the Netherlands we have to pay 25% to 33% of the total value(most EU countries have about the same percentage)
for lower prices it might be more as at least here the post is allowed to charge 17 euro's for collecting the fee, I read that belgium only has a fee of around 10 euro

I woudn't ask for a company to lower the value on the box
if something happens you can't get your money back, and if they catch you, you get an even worse fine and possebly a criminal record, thus making getting a job harder
some companies do automatically mark down the value, however in that case they are the ones to blame and if something bad happens they are to pay up for it(for customs of course, but if it gets lost, damaged, ect). if you ask them to you are the only one to blame

    9. I bought some dolls from Fairyland and they shipped with EMS on Saturday 10/17/2009 and they arrived in customs on Monday and since then it says Customs retention reason : Invoice missing. I already have ordered some stuff from other companies that was sent to me with EMS and had the same but usually after 1-2 days I had my package. So I'm wondering if it takes that long because of the size of the package (It has 3 MNF's + accessories + event items) in it so it probably is a big package. Does anyone knows when I should expect my package because I really want them to be here.

      Thanks

    10. You're not gonna get your package 'til you fax or email them with an invoice. I've had this happen to me a few times.

Basically it means that customs opened your package, didn't find any invoice or bill to prove that the items are indeed worth the amount mentioned on the box and they wouldn't release it 'til you can provide them proof of it. Most likely, you can expect a letter from customs aksing for an invoice.

If you haven't heard anything from them yet, I would suggest calling the postal office client service number to ask for the email or fax number of customs so you can send them proof of it. A screenshot of your Paypal payment will do.

      Good luck!

    11. I think that it's something like 12% but I'm not sure.

I once had to pay 115 Euro customs fees for something that was worth 400 USD (= approx. 313 Euro). So I fear that you're gonna get slapped with a *big* custom fee if your order was 1000 USD.
