I spent months practicing on a practice head before doing my first real one for my Joydoll Lai. Here are some of my process pictures. From now on I will post in this thread for stuff I make for Ria. Blushing with Rembrandt soft pastels and pan pastels: So nervous about brows. I used Holbein gouache: I kind of like the almost invisible brows. Like mine are too. Glued 4 pieces of lashes for each eye for a natural sparse look. Also added some high gloss varnish: As you can see I used the headcap for swatching!
How lovely! I really like the way you blushed the cheeks. It gives a really natural look suits the face well.
Making her a sweater. I wish I had a mannequin. It's also my first time working with very stretchy ribbed fabric. I would've made it a little different had I had experience, but I still love the outcome. She just needs some bottoms now so she doesn't look like she's just chilling naked all the time. Draping a bodice and sleeve block as best I can with a fragile rigid body Baste stitches to protype. I adjusted the blocks above to drop the shoulders. Using the herringbone hand stitch. My first time using it, I enjoy it because it goes by quickly. I love her wide shoulders
Made her a skirt with a velcro fastener, with room for an open slit to allow sitting. Might replace it with a black velcro in the future
