No spooky or magical shenanigans here! Just a decapitated head from the side of the building -- some local pranksters probably thought it would be fun to chisel it off the wall and bring it inside to play soccer!

Briefly describe your entry's concept: A secret organization that deals with those who are cursed with bad luck.

The 13th floor appeared to be some kind of office with very old-fashioned furnishings and people in strange clothes rushing around. You notice a sign that reads, "Department of Luck Manipulation and Curses" before a tall, well-dressed man with a painful looking scar on his face stands in front of the open elevator door.

He looks you up and down with disdain. "What's this? You don't look cursed."

Dumbfounded, all you can mutter is, "Uh..."

"Well," he sighs, "I suppose they wouldn't let you in unless you needed to be here. Come this way."

      Entry type: Faceup

Materials used: Soft pastel, acrylic paint, acryla-gouache, ZM Finishing Powder, gloss varnish

      Briefly describe your entry's concept:

The kid's eyes widen comically, brows knitting and lips pursing in an exaggerated expression of alarm as his hands come up, frozen for a moment before he stammers, “P-please don't scream!”

You blink, because he's shorter than you are, giving off scared rabbit vibes with the way he's nearly shaking. It's not impressive, and it's definitely not the jump scare he's acting like you'll think it is. Glancing over, the elevator operator's no help, her sunny smile firmly in place. Maybe she doesn't understand the issue, or maybe she's decided the ball's in your court.

You look back. It's not like you haven't noticed the tattoos sketched across half the kid's face in a stupidly obvious spot. He'll probably regret them in a few years, sure, but what do you care?

One of the fish flutters subtly beneath the rippling surface of his skin. The other exhales a bubble that floats somewhere beneath this eyebrow, and there it is, the weirdness. The kid seems to be able to sense it happening, sucking in a shivering breath like he's bracing for your imminent freak out.

You sigh, relieved, and start over. “You know, most people lead with hello.”

      ---
I wanted to do something friendly since I figured most people would make scary demons for this prompt, but I didn't have a solid idea of what I wanted that to look like until the last minute. He's just meant to be weird and adorable, probably hiding away on the thirteenth floor because he's afraid of other people's reactions to his fish friends.

      Entry type: Faceup + tattoos

Materials used: Volks and Rembrandt pastels
      Liquitex acrylic paints
      Volks thinner
      ZM Spray
      Liquitex gloss
