Inspiration: She is based off the Trill from Star Trek in looks. She does not have Spots, instead she has little Trillium Flowers painted across her forehead over her ears and down the back of her head.

Inspiration: I used the diamond shape from the cardgame as my theme. I used mostly reds because the diamond of the cardgame is red and as a second color I choose black seeing as that is the second color used in the cardgame. And that is how I incoperated the diamond theme in the face up.

Inspiration: My face up was inspired by this angel/ bird white ink tattoo...
I felt it was a fitting image to use an angel as inspiration for the Den of Angels anniversary.

Inspiration: For the DOA 10th anniversary tin and diamond themed challenge my inspiration is a beautiful robot queen influenced by futuristic haute couture fashion, the android queen in the Star Trek Movie, and the elegant costumes and make-up in the Riddick series fillms. My robot queen has been around for many centuries, and although still beautiful, she is beginning to show wear and tear. The freckle like markings and Pearl ex detail around her eyes represent diamond dust which reveals just how precious and rare this robot queen is.

Inspiration: My immediate inspiration, and something I've been wanting to do for a while, was a cake. ^_^ So I spent some time looking at Diamond Anniversary cakes, and got inspired by soft colors, fondant roses, lots of crystals, and silver wire "floral" arrangements.

Inspiration: When I thought about diamonds, I thought about stars glittering in the night sky. I tried to evoke the mystery and beauty of a starry night. Metallic silver accents are reminiscent of polished tin.

Inspiration: I was thinking about the theme this year and decided that diamond flowers would look nice on a doll. I didn't want to use rhyme stones and such because I felt that they were cheaty, so I ended up using metallic acrylic paint.

Inspiration: I really had no inspiration to speak of - I just sat down with a palette of black, grey, and silver pastels (Mungyo) and pencils (Faber Castell) and let it go from there.

Inspiration: This is a semi-natural face up, with brown as definition around his eyes and lips, tinged with green undertones to give him a bit of an "otherworldly" feel. The blue diamonds are tied into his "other half", who also bears similar marks under her eyes. The colors chosen were blue and green, two of the colors of the zodiac sign Pisces, who my boy is an Aspect of.

Inspiration: My inspiration to this piece was in the spirit of spending ten long years with a loved companion. After so much time, the original allure fades in comparison to the beauty of the imperfections that ultimately define who someone is and therefore I chose to personify the "diamond anniversary" with star shaped freckles.

Inspiration: i wanted to combine both traditional and modern ideas but still capture a timeless feel. so i approached the challenge hoping to combine both diamonds and tin, as well as bringing in some classic romantic elements (roses and pearls). with this in mind, i started to look at antique pieces of diamond and pearl jewelry.

Inspiration: The beautiful ethereal look of Yolanda-sculpt inspired me to enhance the impression in hopes of bringing something otherworldly to her appearance. I hope there is a story to be seen in her, be it gaze of a bride, confident in her future, warrior of a forest or even some new mechanical being studying the world.

Inspiration: Diamonds are a girl's best friend, right? This is what led me to this stylized and modern representation of diamonds and tin. I imagined a gal gussying up for a night on the town -- whether on her own or celebrating with someone special! Ten years is a big deal in any circumstance, so why not shine? She is a visualization of sparkles, mixed in with the beautiful accents and tones of tin and diamonds. The colors are influenced by the exotic representations of various diamond/tin materials. Their colors range within the cooler color spectrum, which is where this theme's foundation started on. A bit of a beauty, a bit of sass...a whole lot of SPARKLE!

Inspiration: decided to go with a loving "how I first met you" theme. The painted hairstyle features a couple in a field with a decorative lovebird and gemstone motif on the head back. Inside the head I have painted a simple line drawing of the couple standing in front of a building. Each angle of the head is it's own work of art.

Inspiration: When I read the description of the theme, the first thing I thought of was punched tin lanterns, which are so simple but beautiful. I wanted to attempt to recreate the simple elegance of the lanterns in a faceup ^^

Inspiration: Diamond ring is a good choice of anniversary gift.
Better yet, with big-sized or more diamond stones~~
But us doll lovers, dolls somehow can be a great (and unique) replacement for a diamond ring as a gift. Therefore, what about a diamond-decorated doll? One swap at the bar-code reader, and this anniversary gift is yours
The inspiration is retrieved during my short visit to the jewelry store.
There were lots of choices diamond rings (with these different barcodes tag) being put on hand mannikins. Basically, the idea is a combination of the whole competition's theme tin (tinman, or mannikins as the photo theme) and diamond (although it is only rhinestones I use, diamond ring explains the bar-codes) and anniversary gift.

Inspiration: Her faceup was inspired by the contest itself; I liked the diamonds and tin theme, but since Ella is eventually going to be a rockabilly pinup girl, I tried to keep her makeup somewhat along those lines--winged eyeliner, lush red lips, but fairly clean and natural looking. She has a rhinestone attached to her cheek below one eye to represent diamonds. Her gray eyeshadow was inspired by the silvery color of tin, and the tattoo behind her ear the Tin Woodsman's pocket watch from the Wizard of Oz. It's supposed to be set at 10:00, as another tenth anniversary symbol, but it's a little hard to tell in the photos.

Inspiration: Dragons and Sea Gods in Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian and Hindu mythology is associated with magical jewels/gems. In the legends, the jewel contains immense power. In a story I have written, Sea Dragon Gods are born with the alpha jewel on their forehead and other small ones on other parts of their face and body. The types of jewel depends on the element of the dragon god (in this case, he has diamond). Even if the dragon god turns into a human, they can not hide their jewel as it is part of their being. Humans frequently gather a raid to slay the Sea Dragon Gods because their jewel is worth unthinkable price.

Inspiration: As diamonds come in different colors, I thought of making this faceup represent the darker diamonds, black, more valuable. I wanted her to look like those glorious cat walk models with all the diamonds, jewels and shiny sparkles enhanced onto them. So this girl is graceful, with diamonds where they will catch the light. Dark shimmery lipstick and sparkly silver eyeliner to give a fresh look. She is fierce, she came here to show everyone what she's made of. Diamonds are a girl's best friend!

Inspiration: I made this face-up with the idea of an old tin automation with a porcelain face left outside to rust. I got inspiration mostly from a book called Alchemy of the Stone by Ekaterina Sedia and from the movie Hugo. The original concept of this doll is from a friend who is slowing turning her into a steampunk robot bit by bit and let me use her for this contest.

Inspiration: Even a lovely little tin cup will look tarnished, worn and ragged, if all you ever compare it to is your crystal, your diamonds and your silver. How will you ever see it shine?
Inspired by the concept of "Intentionally unbeautiful." If you watched as a brand new metal plate on the wall, sleek and shining and reflecting every facet of light, become green and orange with patina, or rusted due to poor treatment, would you find it now drab and ugly compared to your other pretty trinkets? Or would you see past what it was "Suppose to be" and appreciate it for what it is now?

Inspiration: The idea I went with was "a diamond in the rough," because even diamonds come from the Earth and need to be chiseled into their perfect forms. I really like the idea of something beautiful emerging from dirt and I wanted her to look organic so I added some dirty edges to my otherwise prismatic, shimmery faceup.

Inspiration: Fireworks and diamonds. The red paintings on the left side inspired by fireworks. When I thought about a great anniversary / event, fireworks were what came to my mind .
This faceup has sheer/thin colored lines in the right side, and a bit in left side, inspired by what I see of a diamond's (jewelery) cut or shapes.
I also add glitters, too bad they doesn't visible on the photos. I meant it to be 'shine like diamonds'.

Inspiration: Materials used are acrylic paint, chalk pastel, pearl dust, gemstones and glue.
The doll is a Little Monica Sarubia in white skin.
I kept the faceup in minimal, mostly grey tones to represent 'tin', and then I attached many little 'diamonds' so that she would appear to be encrusted with jewels. The pearl shimmer was added to give both a metallic, and sparkly effect.
      Happy 10th Anniversary DoA!
