Custom House Little Junior and Junior discussion part 1

The little Jr.s are about 35 cm...right in the middle of tinies and msds. 25 to 30cm is more Custom House petite size.

 

Ooooh all the boys have a sort of grumpy or sad look to them!! I have a Jupiter (Kobey)...here he is with his little brother Uriel (Keven). What a couple of sweet boys they are!




I love the LJ size, about 14". Just right for a big brother to a Petite!

 

LJs are also Narsha size, so they can wear Narsha clothes. They are a really great size, I love mine.

 

The petites are about 10-11" tall...as you can see the perfect companion to the LJs who are about 14" tall.

 

Actually, according to the mods in the new sales size separation announcement, Little Juniors belong with minis.

I have a Little Junior Hades. I've always referred to these guys as sub-minis.

Here's a picture of him with a horde of minis and an SD10 boy:

 

Azrael wears a 6-7 or SDC wig. I wasn't happy with the fit of his default wig from CH. It wasn't elasticized and it kept falling off. Now he pretty much always wears an SDC wig.

He has a few items of clothing from Custom House, but for the most part I make his pants. Most of the trimmer mini sized shirts fit him, Teen Trends shirts fit and some of the Mattel Ken and Volks WTG Boyfriend shirts do as well.

Shoes ... well, he's got a couple of pairs of Tonner Matt shoes he shares with my OrientDoll Il, a pair of Horsman Rini sneakers and a pair of boots made for the Leeke tinies, which, oddly enough, also fit the OD boy but are huge on my Yo-SD boy.

Someone here was selling a Mars head on an oldskin MSD body recently. I've had Azrael's head on one of my MSD bodies and I thought it looked pretty silly. I've had picture requests up in the galleries for LJ heads on slim mini bodies but few people seem to have LJs out there, so there wasn't much response. I'd kind of considered maybe looking for a taller/more mature body for him at one point, but have pretty much abandoned the idea now, because he's just so cute as he is.

Treelore, I have a Little Junior and although I love her size and her face, her body doesn't pose very well.
Anyone with any advice for me? She leans back and is just very stiff.

 

My Hades doesn't sit particularly well either. He came strung very tightly, though after I restrung him he posed and sat much better. He still lleans back rather a lot. I think the problem is that the hip socket is a bit shallow and needs a little sanding in front. I haven't attempted it yet, but I may still.

 

I'm waiting for a Little Junior and it's marked as 38cm tall. I've had other people say that theirs are the same height.

 

They are a strange size but I love it! They are between MSD and YO. The Narsha clothes fit wonderfully, and Dollmore is the only place I know of to get them. They have some really cute things, I would jump on it before they are all gone. (dolly paranoia!)

 

Little Juniors can also wear Tonner's 14" Betsy McCall clothes and shoes, though the styles are on the childish side, and the fit is loose around the waist and hips.

 

Excuse my poor snapshots, but here is my Narsha with a Narae, and a Volks MSD, and a Naripon. I have a Little Junior also, they are exactly the same size.

 

I ordered my first doll (and he's in the mail, woohoo!), and I want to buy him some clothes! haha
Here's the question:

I don't really know anything about BJD, sadly, and I was wondering what other doll clothes can Little Junior Boys fit into?
Are they MSD size? Meep!

Sorry, I feel silly asking about this, when I could just buy clothes off the Custom House site, but I want more variety, and I don't know how well any clothes I'd make would turn out. Hahaha

If the measurements I have are correct, they are close in chest and waist to some slim MSD's, but are shorter and have smaller hips.

I bet they could wear a lot of Friend2BMade and the slacks might even be close to the right length. In general, my guess would be slim MSD clothes and you might have to hem slacks.

When I had my Little Junior Jupiter, I tried Matt O'Neill clothes on him (16" fashion doll)--the pants were too big, but the shirts were cute in a baggy, oversized way. A friend gave me a Teen Trends jeans & sweater outfit for him that was adorable and fit very well. So there are a couple more options to look for--

 

They can also wear Narsha clothes, Dollmore has some.

 

I saw lots of Teen Trends cheap over at Tuesday Morning if you have one near you. LJ can also wear Betsy Mccall clothing, but it is more of a little girl style.

 

I was wondering,
what type of shoes can Little Juniors wear?
Can they where MSD shoes? or are they a more inbetween size ^^;

 

CH says the Little Juniors take the Junior sized shoe, and the Petite size wig.

I put my poor Zephyros into MSD sized jeans from Dollmore, and he looked like the 'after' of a dieting commercial. Not 'adorably' oversized, but just plain old Too BIG.

Good thing he is sweet-tempered; he put up with it and me.

I've found the list! ^^ It's a bit shorted than I thought, but here is it anyway:

Shoes:
- Luts modern basics for Mini Fée
- Luts 5-eyelet boots for Cutie Delf (if they still sell them)
- The majority of the DOC shoes, if the length fits the whole shoe fits.

Hmm well I hope that worked. You may want to look up other shoe sites too!

 

I've got a LJ Hades and have found that the Tonner Matt shoes and boots fit very nicely. I believe there are a couple of shoe packs out there for Matt, and some of the Matt outfits come with shoes. Some of the Matt t-shirts fit LJs as well, since they tend to run on the slender side.

As far as wigs go, my Hades fits into 6-7 well. He's been wearing Volks SDC size wigs. His default wig from Custom House was kind of a poor fit and won't stay on his head.

Just a note - on an different thread (I believe the one separating doll sizes for the sales forums) one of the DoA mods stated that Little Juniors belong in the mini, not the tiny category, so this thread IS appropriately placed.

 

I have a LJ Hades and he can wear Tonner Matt shoes and boots very well. He also has a pair of Luts boots in the small/tiny size that look great on him, but I couldn't say if all of the smallest Luts boots would fit a LJ.

 

I have a meoloo too, he's a pain to clothe bless him cos msd tops are fine, but bottoms are huge on him, mnf bottoms are better, but need a belt, and generally he wears my mnf's shoes even if they are slightly big As for wigs, he can wear yo-sd wigs, but it does depend on the maker for some reason!

They're gorgeous lil boys tho, congrats on yours!

 

Make sure they're the bigger Matt shoes, though, as the little molded plastic shoes don't fit any bjd I'm aware of.

They also fit in Narsha clothes, which you can get at Dollmore. At the risk of being controversial, they are the exact same size as Narsha, so I believe they are considered Tinies.

 

My Hades and my OD Il both wear the molded ones. Hm. Wish I had more of them.

 

If I recall correctly Leeke sized boots will also fit LJ's; I got a friend a pair for her Yo, thinking they'd be just right, but they turned out a little large for the Yo and fit Orientdoll Dae-type and Little Junior perfectly.

 

I know the Teen Trends clothes are made for females, but I found on of the outifts, a pajama set, to be quite unisex. Soooo~ I bought it for my LJ Meoloo, and it fits very well.



I also got him another pajama set. It's leopard print, with pink details, and cute little fuzzy slippers... very girly, but it fits (aside from the loseness of the shirt from lack of breasts), and I actually think he likes it. >_>

They can wear slim fit MSD clothes, my meoloo comfortably wears my mnf's clothes and shoes

 

Standard MSD clothes (for 43-45cm bodies) do not fit. Shirts may look cute in an oversized way, but pants have to be pulled up to his nipples and jackets are far too big. MNF clothing fits much better.

 

I dunno who suggested buying clothes from friends2bmade, but they do not fit my Little Junior at all. I ordered him one outfit, just so I could judge for myself, and I think it was a bad choice (I got the tuxedo). The pants are the right length, and they sit on the waist well, however they are far too wide. The jacket/shirt combo just plain doesn't fit. The sleeves are far too short, it's beyond workable, and the main part of the jacket is too big for his torso and neck/shoulder area. Judging from the pants, though, I think maybe the shorts and skirts would fit him well, though I can't tell for sure. Also, short sleeved shirts might fit well enough, I'm guessing.

Basically, it was a waste of $20. XD;

 

I have Tera too and I really really like her! I've had a few Friends2BMade things fit her and also a couple Teen Trends things have worked on her. She is a different size, harder to find things, but it doesn't stop me from trying! Some other things, like Anne Estelle or Betsy McCall outfits, fit her too, just a younger look, and sometimes short.

I've used a few friends2bmade shirts on my LJ girl and have a pair of their shorts that work good for her, but the fit with that line is somewhat hit or miss for LJ's. I have it mostly for my MSD girl.

Anyway, would someone give me an idea of what other similar size dolls the Jr. Ai can steal clothes/shoes from? I'm thinking maybe 14" Betsy McCall or similar? I'm being totally tempted by one, but need to see if I'll have an outfit or two for her before ordering. Thank you.

This is all I could find for current measurements. Junior Ai was a mini sized doll and may have been immature or immature (I am unfamiliar with them and the measurements don't help). Though from that really big waist size I would say immature.

Junior AI is 43cm in height, head: 7 inch, arms to wrists: 13cm, legs(waist to foot): 28cm, neck: 8.5cm, back: 23cm, shoulder: 9.5cm, waist: 17.5cm.

They do not seem to sell these any more and I cannot even find a photo of one in the gallery.

Looking at little Junior female measurements, she is not much smaller in the torso than a slim mini. Her bust is almost as big as Narae's, her waist is about the same as Narae's. Her hips are small - a bit small than a Dollzone girl rather than the 18-19cm many other minis have.

ALSO - there are ton of threads about Little Junior AI and maybe Junior AI including about what they wear - you may have to look at the threads to determine exactly which they are talking about.

Custom House has said that they're bringing them back at some point-- I asked back in late Fall, I think, and their response was "soon." I think they were male Junior Ais (I remember three from back in early 2003-- so I don't trust my memory), but the only ones I am sure that existed are female, and they were mature minis.

So I'm seriously looking at getting a Custom House Junior Ai Yeondu basic, but I can't find any pictures of the body on the site.

I'm finding it hard to get any sense of what the body looks like with the clothes they've put on her as well. Does anybody have a picture of a Junior Ai body or any knowledge say of the bust size on the girl's body, or the amount of curves or how nice the joints are etc.? It'd be a big help!

I'm not really looking for another doll at the moment, but you know how it is... Anyway, I've been looking at CH Little Junior Eva for the past few days thinking that with a custom face-up she could be a cute little sister for my Soulkid Ahee. So now I am curious about them and their size.

First of all I would love to see pictures of Little Juniors with standard sized Mini size dolls, just to get an idea about the size.

Also, how about clothes? They are obviously too small for most MSD clothes and then again way too big for Yo-SD, so does anyone make clothes for them or are there any other dolls the same size that people make clothes for. Can they sometimes wear MSD-size dresses and such where the length wouldn't be a problem?
And lastly, more generally how are their posing?

I'd be very happy for any pictures showing these things or just general info about them and their odd size

Here is my Little Junior Selene with my Shushu on a Soulkid body and my Domadoll Sanmaul:







My Little Juniors wear clothes for Narae/Unoa or other very slim minis (just keep in mind that the sleeves will be very long, and that you need to look pants with short legs, too), and they also fit clothes for Narsha.

You might also want to watch out for clothes for Corolle's "Les Cheries" line, some of them fit very well. Here's my Little Junior Dione in a dress for "Les Cheries":

 

I've owned Little Juniors and MSD, but not at the same time. I did try some of the MSD stuff on my LJ and they were all generally too big. As for posing, it's all right but not the best imho...however, the one I owned was among the first ones that came out, and it had a one-piece torso. I don't know if CH has upgraded/redesigned the body in any way, so nowadays the bodies may be much improved. She stood quite easily but I often had trouble getting her to sit up straight.

Maybe the big wig makes her head look larger! She shares wigs with my tinies, so her head is really not that large -- it's longer, but has roughly the same circumference.

 

Keladry: Nah, I think it was more that she had a longer head like you say, not a short and round head like many of the smaller dolls has. And not so much smaller than "your avarage MSD" that they look out of proportion next to each other.

Btw I notice neither of the ones you have are still on the CH website, do they change their molds frequently?

 

They change their molds frequently, yes. CH do that in order to sell more limited dolls to the Japanese. They are smaller than MSDs and their quality is not like Volks.

 

Gus251, you really think so? Personally, I think the CH resin is the most lovely I've ever seen, actually! It's heavy and has a velvety texture that makes it nicely matte. I like the Volks resin, too, but personally I wouldn't say that it's necessarily a better quality than CH's. They're both lovely.

Elley, they're currently in the process of revamping their basic dolls -- they're slowly putting them back on the site with new pictures, one or two at a time. I asked CH about it a while ago, and they assured me that more of the basics would be coming back.

At the moment, Selene is still available on their website, but only in the "Parts" section! Dione was one of their very early sculpts -- I think she was the first or second LJ they offered --, and those were discontinued a while ago; I'm guessing it's because compared to the newer sculpts, the faces are less detailed. I like my Dione despite that, but I can understand that they might want to maintain a consitent aesthetic.

 

Gus251: From the posts I've read so far, here and in the other threads mentioned above, it seems most people who have them really like them, though some have mentioned that they are not as posable as they wish they would be.
I guess as far as quality goes, if we are not talking about serious quality issues like parts breaking etc but quality of resin and such it comes down to personal taste.

Keladry: So there is a chance there will be more to choose from by the time I have had a chance to save up. Hm, this can be at dangerous discovery

Wha type of head caps do they have the junior Ai

 

I don't have a Junior, but all my CH dolls have headcaps held on by elastic.

 

The measurements are in the FAQ. An odd place, yes, but they're all in there. Just be aware that the measurement for the Little Jr Boys doesn't include the head. With a head, they come in at 38cm.

 

I have a Jupiter (He's there in my icon!) He can be pretty tricky to buy clothes for, other than what CustomHouse make for LJs, I've had some luck with Luts' MiniFee clothes, and also have had a couple of Unoa-sized things that have fit him, and as people said above, Teen Trends outfits usually work too (but my boy doesn't like girls clothes so he won't stay in them!)

Shoes, we have pretty much given up on >>; Anything smaller than mini-sized shoes that I've bought have been too small for him, and the mini's ones he's swimming in. He doesn't really mind going barefoot so we're just not bothering at the moment.

Their wig size is 6 inches, none of my mini's wigs will fit him at all, they're way too big. I think Unoas have the same size? In general, you can try anything made for slim minis like Unoa or Minifee, but just remember LJ have more childish bodies so it's not guaranteed to fit ^^
