So the English version of this company's website no longer works. I can't really say that I'm surprised.
@Megami-Landing: Yes of course!! UU is so cute! ^^ Mine is called Revi, she is a bit of a shy girl, here she is playing in the snow with Maren (MW Jr Leila) Together in the snow by sodabeentjes, on Flickr
I no longer have her, but this is Clementine my former UU. I miss having a Bisou - the size is really nice Midnight Circus by honeythorpe, on Flickr
Sodabeentjes - Omg her little hat is so precious! I'm trying to find a long wig like that for my soon-to-be girl. *__* Honeythorpe - That dress! What an adorable print. I think that's probably what I'm most excited about for finally getting a tiny--all the dresses are super-adorable. svgjen - I really love that pink bob. Gah, they're all so cute. I'm totally in love. This is the girl I'm looking at: Fresno Doll Meet 16-Feb-2013 by shujinkakusama, on Flickr
svgjen Thank you! I adore her little face. She looks so contemplative. They're all so cute, yee. Sweetiemom those dresses are adorable. I got my girl! She's got a temporary wig until the one I ordered gets in, but for now, she looks like this: Mori-tan - CustomHouse Bisou Ai UU by shujinkakusama, on Flickr I'm so excited! My partner's going to be getting another tiny in almost the same size soon--I'm so excited for her!
It's nice to see some action on this board again. I've noticed the Aidolls English website hasn't been available for a bit. Is the company still operating?
They posted on the Q&A board at the start of the month, so on the one hand, I don't think they're gone, but it seems the Japanese site is gone too. I hope they're still going!
I guess there aren't very many people with these little dolls, but glad to see I'm not alone, even if this thread is a little quiet, lol. I have a Jeje, she's so cute and portable. ^^ It's a bit sad that I don't hear much about Customhouse anymore. Are they still going?
@ Quill I thought they were only selling local still. So I guess most of us have to rely on the marketplaces. I would love to see your Jeje ^^ Some UU spam Revi recently got new eyes, dark grey and a bit blue-ish. And I made her this dress a while ago. Revi by sodabeentjes, on Flickr
Yeah I can't get on their English site anymore so I guess they're gone, at least from the international market. Their Korean site is still up but I guess they're only selling within Korea? They shot themselves in the foot with horrible customer service. They got such a bad reputation that I'm sure hardly anyone was ordering from them anymore though I find their little dolls incredibly cute. I have 3 little ones, 2 UUs and a Shushu. The reason I have 2 UUs is because Custom House screwed up my order and they ended up sending me another one. UU was the first BJD I ever owned.
UU is so adorable, with those chubby cheeks. x3 My sister has one that I bought for her along with my own JeJe when CH was having one of their crazy half-off sale bonanzas. It was pretty daring of me to buy from them as a newbie, now that I think back on it--they were having so many issues at the time! I ended up waiting nearly seven months for these dolls. It was worth it. :3 I almost wish I had another one--Bibelot could use a friend her size! And I still owe this thread a picture of my little Bibelot! Maybe I'll get a chance to snap some shots when I'm done with packing. @_@
I got my Bisou yesterday She's SO TINY AND ADORABLE! I don't know what sculpt she is, but I'll post pictures once I make the little beastie some clothes and her wig arrives. Maybe we can breathe a little life into this thread?
I rarely see any other Bisou owners when I'm at meetups or shows :/ The size never seemed to catch on, though you do see similar scale dolls like the Pepper/Sugar Pocket Fairies and the TinyDelf 20s starting to gain popularity, so perhaps we'll see more clothes/etc offered in that scale. I don't see Bisous often on the Marketplace, and I would not order from CH directly even if it was possible, so not sure if many people would be able to buy these girls. I have four--BonBon, PoPo, YoYo and CoCo--but the last two had all sorts of structural/resin issues once I finally got my order from CH. It took a while and a lot of modding before I could get them fixed enough to do faceups, and there was a lot of bitterness about the situation with that order, so they tend to be put away. I will eventually get pictures of them, but for now, I stick with my original pair of girls when I'm choosing models for shows. Here's Lorelei, my BonBon girl, the first of the Bisous/Anges to arrive back when they were first offered. Lorelei by clochette62, on Flickr
Awh Lorelei is so cute!! I've never had a doll as small as the bisou, but I'm glad that I am good at making clothes myself, because there doesn't seem to be any out there to buy. I got mine with the intent of her being a toddler for one of my MSD couples, mostly because I REALLY want to make footie pajamas lol. Sorry you had so much trouble with CH! I was annoyed that I couldn't read their site to try to find out what sculpt mine is...
I would LOVE to have footie pjs for my girls or at least one of them. I had 3 girls but I gave one to a friend, she's his first bjd. I had two UUs so I gave him one.
Thank you. If you post a pic of your girl, we can probably help you figure it out. Here's my Popo girl, Ava Ava by clochette62, on Flickr
Svgjen I almost bought some on etsy, but I decided they wouldn't fit since the bisou is a decent bit taller than Pukifee. Once I get the pattern worked out and everything, I'm sure we can work something out! Because really, more tinies in footiePJ's sounds like something we need in the world lol XD How nice of you to give your friend a doll! Clochette Wow Ava looks spunky! I haven't taken any photos of "Bitty" yet (I also havent found a name for her yet, so she's gonna be Bitty til her wig gets here and I can determine her actual name) but this is one of Buff's photos from her sales thread. I will be very happy if we can figure out what sculpt she is! Asako please do! I'd love to see a picture of your cutie XD
I agree clochette, I seem to have a fondness for dolls that become unavailable, but this size BJD steals my heart! They go so nicely with miniature items. I've gotta Popo and she is super sweet, her name is Adelaide and she is a first release. I love Custom House/ Ai Dolls innocent faces and chubby cheeks. Her size goes along really well with my 20 cm elfdoll New Tiny Dolls, which seem to be discontinued as well? Sorry to get off topic but does anyone know why elfdoll discontinued them? I haven't seen anything on this forum or the website about it. Anyway, great Bisou photos everyone! Here's my girl Adelaide: lubearymuch_popo by TiniQueenie, on Flickr
Thanks Tipsyfox! Both the corn popper and the view-master are from Fisher Price key chains, and the cakes are erasers! Haha! I think I got them all from Walgreen's.
I'm still working on my pattern, but here's my bisou wearing the prototype feetie PJ's, being held by my SD boy Phineas ;D
Aww, those footie pajamas are so cute! and Wow, that Bisou Ai looks like a little baby in the arms of SD Phineas!! I just love your doll couch and tree, it looks like a real living room.
Tipsyfox: What an adorable little girl! I love how tiny she looks in Phineas' arms. x3 As to her sculpt, I believe she is UU, but don't quote me on that. ^^;
Faireva I got the bisou to be a toddler for one of my MSD couples, but she looks so cute with Phineas, so I don't know if the original idea will be going through or not! Guess I'll have to see how I feel once the wig I ordered for her gets here. I'm hoping to do v2 of my feetie pj's pattern tonight, since the first pair have some flaws that are fixed easily within the pattern itself, and once I get it worked out, i'll be happy to sell a few pairs or trade them to other bisou owners since it'll be made specifically for their size I'm really happy with my current furniture setup, but I need more! Its so hard to find scale furnitures without spending tons of money. I keep trying to convince my hubby to build me some stuff, but he insists that he doesn't have the tools or space to do it Quill Thankyou! A guess at her sculpt is better than nothing, so we'll assume you're right and she's a UU, unless someone else chimes in to say, nope, not UU!
My little girl's wig came today! She's SO OMG ADORABLE!! Hopefully there will be pics tomorrow when I've got some light Now she just needs a name...
Tipsyfox She's definitely an UU, I had two myself at one point in time. She's the younger sculpt of Uriel I believe. And, if you're looking for clothes on etsy, clothes for lati yellow special (the 19cm lati) will generally fit. They are a bit scarce too but I had both Bisou and LY Sp and sewed the same dresses for both. Bisou is a bit slimmer than Lati Yellow sp. I know I have a comparison picture somewhere in my flickr so I'll find it when I get home I miss my little Uu - that 19-20cm size is my favourite but they are a little hard to find now!
Lord knows why Elfdoll does *anything*...I'm thinking it had to do with sales, probably, but they seem to run hot and cold on the tinys as a whole. When they went into their snit a few years back, they discontinued a lot of the tiny molds. I have a Hana Devil, she's a great size with my Bisou. I've had a lot of success with Only Hearts Club outfits, they're in the right scale for Bisou, especially if they're stretchy. Nice job...they're very cute! Here's mine:
Honeythorpe thanks for confirming that! I am very happy to know "who" she is Clochette what a great comparison shot!! Thanks so much for posting that I'm really happy with my feetie PJ's pattern now, I just have to get a bit of tiny velcro and some fabric I really like In lieu of that, and since her wig and shoes came, I made my girl this little outfit last night! And she told me her name! Its Bailey SO MUCH CUTE ERMAHGHERD!
FOOTIE PJS! OK I'm fine really. LOL Sweet dress. I've only ever made 1 real item of doll clothing and this is it: Welcome Home Anne! by Jen Savage, on Flickr Excuse Anne's crazy wig. She wears a different one now.
Svgjen Annie is sooo cute! I rather like her crazy wig, actually, and I think you did a great job on the dress! I am really looking forward to making MOAR FEETIE PJ's!! They are cute and really fun I suspect that Bailey will have a few different pairs. So tiny and cute!
And will you be selling any footie pjs by chance??? Heh. This isn't a comparison photo or anything but here are my Bisous. I no longer own the one in the pink wig. I'm posting it because Anne is actually on a Lati Yellow SP body. Bernadette has an original "Custom House" body. And the girl formerly known as Margot is on a newer Ai Dolls body. Bisous by Jen Savage, on Flickr Anne's wearing a dress made for Lati Yellow SP but the girls can all wear it. Bernadette is wearing the jumper I made. Margot actually has on a Blythe shirt as a dress.
Svgjen I do intend to in the future, but it will probably be a few weeks, since I need to scout out some findings and fabrics still. I can PM you when I'm ready if you want All your girls are super cute! Very interesting the different bodies XD Last night I tried out a dress pattern that said it would fit the latiSP, but it didn't turn out as a dress, it was totally like a shirt it was so short!
Tipsyfox - Oh that's quite OK with me. I'd love to get a PM when you're ready! The only real difference between the Lati Yellow SP body and the Bisou is that the Lati body is a bit chubbier. Strange that the pattern was so short. Here's another photo of Anne and Bernadette. Meme-tastic by Jen Savage, on Flickr
Svgjen okay I'll definitely send you a message when I'm ready I firmly believe there should be MORE FEETIE PJs in the world, so yeah! In it's defense, it was a free on the internet pattern that also listed fitting for pukifee, lati yellow, and a couple others that I forgot. So maybe it didn't actually mean it was adequately long for the SP ;-P OMG SO CUTE WITH THEIR TINY STARBUCKS ::dead from the cute::
Tipsyfox, those clothes looks great on Bailey, good job! I've just started sewing recently and I'm impressed with your tiny clothes! You must have a very steady hand, these little Bisou Ai dollies are so small I think you would have to sew them mostly by hand, did you manage to use the sewing machine at all on that little bit of fabric? About asking your hubby to make dolly furniture for you, I totally get it, there is many a time I wish mine had carpentry skills for this reason! I've been making a doll bed out of an old cigar box and I'd like to craft a headboard onto it, but I think I'll have to go with a modern bed frame instead. clochette, thanks for your response about the Elfdoll tinies, it's too bad about the New Tiny Doll, perhaps they will do another release in the future. svgjen, your girls are gorgeous! I love Bernadette's eyes, they really catch the light!
Hi all~~^^ My Bisou Ai Pepe, her name is Taru Nice to meet you all~~ Flickr 上 *Kobo* 的 @Kwun Tong
Faireva Thankyou for the compliments! Actually, all of it is done on the machine. My hand sewing is terrible at best, so I avoid doing it whenever possible. Occasionally I'll baste a collaror something by hand, to hold it for machine sewing, or sew on a snap, but that's about as far as it goes. My machine does really well considering the small size, I just go slow, make sure my needle is nice and sharp so it doesn't push the fabric down in it, and use a walking foot. THe dress is completely lined with satin, so there's no seams on the inside. The hardest part was the flipping it inside out and rightside out all the time to get everything sewn together properly lol! Kobo she's so cute! I especially love her little hair clips XD
Oh I should try using a walking foot next time I try to make something for the dolls. kobo - What a sweet little girl!
Bailey came out for an interesting photoshoot today! You can see here here using a jacket for a 70cm boy as a tent! Is there a coat version of "Shleets?" by TipsyFox, on Flickr
Bailey went on a little tree climbing adventure today. She also go new clothes! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
Aww she's cute! Here's my little UU Revi, I just adore CuustomHouse dollies so much, too bad the company is gone Revi by Karen, on Flickr
It is too bad, but there was no way they could sustain with the "new sale to generate funds to pay for current orders" spiral they'd developed. Here's Lorelei (BonBon) modeling with her LTF friends Girls SDMiniCon by clochette62, on Flickr
I'll always love my Custom House girls but they were awful to deal with as a company. Les Bisous by Jen Savage, on Flickr
Actually I think it was there attempt to get into vinyl dolls got Custom House into trouble. Vinyl molds are very expensive and then they used a soft vinyl which deformed under the stress of stringing. Even with all the problems and delays, I never found them hard to deal with and I did eventually get all my dolls.
They screwed up my order and I know I'm not the only one that it happened to. Huge delays, messed up orders. Yeah they fixed it but then again, I had a huge delay waiting for them to right their wrong. When other companies are more timely and don't make mistakes, that definitely hurts your business.
You were fortunate, Nancy. It took 9 months and reporting them to the Korean trade officials to get my order, and then only two of the five arrived without some sort of damage. Through the wait, they rarely communicated, and when they did, most of what they told me was untrue. So, can't say much for their customer service. It's too bad, because prior to the nosedive they made some amazing dolls. My JrIrang and my two Petites are lovely, and my first Bisous that I ordered prior to the mess are great little dolls.
I forgot to share my new girl. She hasnt decided on a name yet. Papi and her new buddy by Verte Fae, on Flickr
