20–39cm Dolls Custom head for Tear Island body

Hi!

First (and hopefully not last) dollmaking project here. I have a wonderful Island Doll Tear Island body, which I bought because it was absolutely perfect for an OC of mine. Unfortunately, however, I haven't been able to find the perfect head. With that in mind, I'm making my own!

The project will involve some pretty significant neck mods - there isn't anything wrong with the structure that's there, but the body is designed with large heads in mind (while I'm going for a more "young adult" look), so the neck is about 2x as long as I'll need it to be when finished.

As for the head, this is what I'd consider to be my first real sculpting project! I'm using Nomad Sculpt on my phone, and have been sculpting on and off since November. The most recent screenshots are below:



I have just sent the head off to be 3D printed, and as soon as it's delivered I'll be onto tweaking the size and shape with clay, priming, and then hopefully casting it. I could probably get away with using the printed version as I'll only need one, but truthfully I want to learn to cast and this is as good an opportunity as any.

 

Exciting news! The 3D print is on its way!!! I REALLY need to order myself PPE if I'm going to work on it when it gets here.
