Curious, how many impulse dolls?

May 28, 2017

    1. Lol, yes Rosenlied! I, too, impulsively bought from them, in light of the impending closure. Alcohol may have been involved:mwahaha The doll in question isn't here yet, though. Since I could only order white skin, I'm gonna make into Snow White. I'm sure I'll like her just fine. Still kinda screwed up my doll plans for the year:sweat
It's only one impulse doll out of five, though, I'll try not to make it a habit.

    2. Lol, none. I can't afford that. Took me two months to save up $100 to buy a few accessories from Luts. I'm super grateful they let the shipping costs into the coupon availability, or I wouldn't have been able to use that $5 Summer Sale coupon.

    3. Only three and I got them all second hand.

The first two (SDF Howl from Luts and EID Jessica from Iplehouse) I got from a local seller. Both of them were "firsts" for me and let me explore a new size. Howl is still the only guy I own.

Then I recently impulse bought a Volks Lieselottes despite saying WS dolls aren't for me. (And not preordering her this spring because of her skin tone.) But I think I much prefer mellowed WS :).
Originally I was just on the hunt for her red gingham Btssb lolita dress but I unexpectedly found the whole doll. Well she's depleted my dolls funds for July ;) but I already have a lot of ideas/concepts for photoshoots. So I don't regret anything.

    4. I tend to impulse buy on the DoA marketplace. I love a deal!

    5. There's definitely some I've done...but I mostly seem to impulse buy clothes for them instead. I get the idea of 'oh that would look great on this doll!' and then it goes into the cart

    6. i just bought a doll leaves lan which i consider a semi impulse buy, i've actually liked the sculpt for a long time but would never considering getting her because of doll leaves insane waiting times so when i saw her in stock at denver doll i snapped her up immediately

    7. I just really got snagged good!:doh I swear I thought I was completely done with my collection but suddenly Gem of Doll released the perfect embodiment of a character I’d completely given up on shelling because nothing ever seemed completely right or the stars never perfectly aligned. But suddenly there he was in the News section here on DoA…the summer limited Hades, the most perfect over-the-top fem-boy dryad ever! What else could I do but contact Ball Jointed Divas for a layaway immediately?;)

So over my many years in this hobby, that makes a total of 6 impulse buys out of of 46 dolls, which is pretty good overall. And even those impulse buys were actually for pre existing characters…it was just the unfortunate timing of them that was impulse.:sweat But the fact that all 6 happened in the past 3 years is troubling nonetheless.

    8. I impulse pre ordered my first doll the other day and I had to sit for several hours trying to get over the guilt. I'm really excited to get her now that I've gotten over the anxiety

    9. Oooh! Did you got shipping notice yet? I saw in they website the dolls would be shipped by the end of july... but maybe the truth was lost in translation. Im so excited for my order as well

    10. I had 3 maybe 4 impulse doll purchase. My MB Ryuzo, MB Hwayeon, Dollzone Miyou, ASAI Azazel, Soom Zak. Ok that was more than 4. But I got mad lucky getting those MB sculpts.

    11. I have three “impulse” dolls. My msd that got me back into the hobby was the first, stimulus checks definitely made the impulse more comfortable to bear. I went allll out on him.

I purchased a Delf Yder mod because I felt like I needed him. I felt like if I didn’t buy him, his mods would have gotten more extreme by the next person. I think everyone should mod what they own if they want to, but I just have a tender spot for delfs.

My last impulse was a tan Pukifee Rin, I learned that Pukifee’s we’re getting “temporarily discontinued” and I had really been wanting one, so I just ordered her off DDE.

All my other dolls were definitely purchased slightly impulsively, but these were the ones that I hadn’t planned that I wanted.

    12. My only true impulse doll is my Shiwoo Vamp boy. I had carefully planned my future doll collection at that point with a chronological list, and a Shiwoo wasn't a part of it. But the moment I saw him for sale in the marketplace, that was it - I just knew I had to bring him home, so I pounced without any other consideration.

    13. My most recent impulse doll saved my project doll. I knew nothing about her when I got her but the fact that she looked perfect in the pastel goth wardrobe I had for an older character. And then she told me she had that doll’s backstory, kind of. And then she told me her name was going to be Cole.

After a few weeks of bashing my head against who she was supposed to be, I woke up, wrote like 10k over 2 days, and started working on my projects again. Faith in impulse dolls (unfortunately) restored

    14. ...All but one. Though it wasn't all like "oh god hit the buy button right now" impulses, I usually waffled for a day or two. My Impldoll Avery I picked out and planned months before I bought him, the Wol I fell for not long after when Seed.Arts was prepping for a head sale and decided to go for it with only like, a week or two to decide on that, and then Tian Ni and the new Black Cherry Zeri were "Ohhh pretty doll. Do want. Wait. Don't do this immediately." But I got both anyways after a couple days so nothing really changed because of that!

    15. In my current crew, I think 7 are "impulse" dolls (If i remember well). Most of the time I thought a little before buying, or I thought for a long time when it's not a limited. But sometimes it's just a "I need it!" and if I can afford it, I buy it (mostly heads and I see later for bodies).
Marketplace is terrible, because you can find something you was really not expecting, and there is always a risk someone buy it before you.

    16. I just bought one. I was reading a thread where someone mentioned Dream Valley Thorn, so I looked her up and thought she would fit in with my dolls pretty well, but not enough to buy one....until I saw her on DDE in stock. I just got her today XD no idea what I'm going to do with her at all

    17. I had to save a lot for my first few dolls because I was a teenager with very limited money (plus I was more nervous about buying BJDs because I had very little experience with different companies). However, after I got my first decent paying job and moved out of my parents' house, I bought (and sold) a lot of impulse dolls. At this point, however, only a couple of my dolls were impulse buys. I find I usually do not keep impulse purchases, though that has not completely stopped me from buying impulsively.

    18. I just recently started the process of doing this with a yosd Megu. Lol saw her fell in love and started the buying combo with the seller.

    19. This has only happened once for me so far... I was looking for a Soom Leepy for months and found a Pa-an for sale, instantly fell in love and forgot about Leepy, hehe. Impulses can be dangerous, but I think if they really strike your heart in the moment, why not go for it? :cheer

    20. Only once. My newest doll was an impulse buy. I had decided that I was not going to buy any more dolls. But when I saw her I knew she needed to be part of my doll family.
Usually I take a long time to decide to buy a certain doll.

    21. I thought I will never impulse buy, until I saw ShuangSheng (Twins) from 2ddoll, even I know their resin will become like lemon yellow after years, I paid right away

    22. I generally mull over my purchases for a really long time because dolls are expensive! I had a body for a hybrid in my virtual cart for, literally, a year before I committed to it. I've had a few instances with things that had a very short ordering period that I had to decide on quickly or miss out. They're a pretty small part of my collection but I don't regret them even if I had to decide on them faster than I usually do.

Aside from limited things, I think you can take your time in this hobby. Standard sculpts aren't going anywhere and they take months to cast to begin with!

    23. I never thought I would impulse buy, I spend HOURS looking through sculpts to find the perfect shell for a character, and even then I usually stare at them for one or more years before buying. I was looking for a sculpt for my next character while I was bored at work on Sunday not even planning on getting a doll until 2023 tax returns but then I stumbled upon a doll not at all right for the said character and instantly pack bonded with him. Like he is my son and I will fight anyone who tries to harm him. And I'm mad about it because I do not have the money to buy a doll with this tax return and I don't even want another boy I want a girl darn it but I'm probably going to crack like the soft boiled egg I am and buy him.

    24. I used to have more impulse buys with non-BJDs. BJDs are usually too expensive for me to afford many impulse purchases. But let's see how long this attitude lasts

    25. I would say probably four. I normally think very hard and long about any purchase, but sometimes a doll just clicks with me.

The first was my X2 Elizabeth. New in the hobby, looking for affordable dolls, I didn't even like her because the company pictures were terrible (I was actually planning on getting a Gloria) but when they opened their ebay store and started selling them as parts and I noticed she was cuter without makeup so I got one.
Then my Narsha, I completely fell when I saw her during a meeting so much that the owner contacted me when he wanted to sell.
My Soom Yrie. I got her because a friend had one with beautifully painted wings, I never even stringed her wings but still think she's adorable. Do limited editions still count as impulse buys?
One day I was browsing through the marketplace looking for a body for a floating head when I saw a Migidoll Jina, he's so cute I often just stare at him.

I also adopted a D.O.B Libra by impulse because he looked pitiful with a badly done eye opening mod, but it was a trade so I'm not sure that counts.

    26. I just yesterday bought a doll impulsively, a ResinSoul Song, because 1) he was In Stock at Denver Dolls and 2) his cute lil face and elfy ears popped out at me :D
(And because I know I'll be waiting months for the first doll I ordered, the lovely Xaga Elf girl Mizzle, to be made and shipped lol)

But I don't really mind that I made an impulsive purchase, since ResinSoul dolls are more affordable, plus I simply adore his sculpt!
And now when the first doll I ordered eventually arrives, she will have another elf friend to keep her company

I suppose that will technically make HIM my First Ever Doll, since I will have him in my grubby lil hands first, even though she was the one I chose/ordered first? Not sure tbh

I suppose I would maybe feel different about buying so impulsively IF I already owned a lot of dolls, but since I'm just getting started, I don't see a problem since I'm only going to have 2!

    27. Nearly all of them, especially when I first started :sweat
It was definitely the fomo. With most of them being on limited time pre-order or being new releases with limited discounts.
I've definitely slowed down in the last 6 months though and haven't been tempted/impulsive for a while. It helps that I now have a clear vision for where I want my collection to go.

(It doesn't help when I'm a naturally impulsive person :doh)

    28. About half my dolls were impulse dolls, mostly earlier ones though. Some of them worked out really well and the others worked out only okay. But the dolls I adore the most are the ones I decided I wanted well before I saw any sales listing for them. They are way more precious to me than the ones I bought on impulse.

On that note, I entered the lottery impulsively for a doll 8 years ago and lost. It felt like love at first sight! I finally got her last month, but there's no way I could consider her an impulse buy now! I wonder if I would have adored her as much as I do if I immediately got her with no struggle, but I guess I'll never know.

    29. I planned to buy my one and only doll for a month, but there is this doll I found on sale yesterday that I really love so I'm thinking of buying him so... I guess I might have a second doll :XD:

    30. None of my dolls are impulse buys. I’ve been in the hobby since 2009 and bought my first doll after months of contemplation. When I become enamored of a sculpt, I start researching - the company, the body, how well it poses. The next stage is stalking: Instagram, Facebook, Flickr and DoA to see how versatile the sculpt is. Next, I mull it over for a while. Once I decide, I buy. I have a running list of sculpts that I love so if my doll is discontinued, I stalk the DoA market. Eventually, the doll will pop up in the Marketplace.

    31. All my impulse purchases have been secondhand. I have only kept one of them which is my AOD Qing, though she did turn out to be one of my favorites. There are definitely pros and cons to the impulse purchase! I tend to try and build a character around my sculpts I like instead of the other way around, so when I see something pretty I'll occasionally give it a go to see if it fits.

      • x 1
    32. My most recent order was an impulse purchase - I had a rough day, decided to browse some doll sites (probably a mistake when I was in retail therapy mode), and ended up ordering a new friend. That being said, she’s also a Resinsoul tiny, so definitely not quite as wallet hurting as she could have been

I have some other impulse buys. I’ve only ever sort of regretted one. Most of my impulse purchases are secondhand dolls, as I feel like I don’t have the time to mull over the purchase that I do with purchasing directly from a company (unless it’s a limited sculpt).

    33. I had for impulse purchases that I sold. I felt guilty spending a lot on dolls at the time.
I recently purchased a Volks f-54 head that was a slight impulse purchase but I didn’t spend a lot and I really love the head and face up.

    34. My doll purchases have been planned and thought about it. Perhaps their clothrs and wigs had less planning though as I tried to figure out what I could style them with.

    35. Some of my dolls are impulse dolls to be sure. When I first started the hobby I went a little crazy. I am more likely to plan something out now if I have need for another doll, I pretty satisfied with my collection right now, and not really looking for anything in particular.

My biggest impulse weakness? Store display dolls wearing full set outfits, that have been price reduced because whatever shop I am getting it from changed the display dolls and no longer needs them. Occasionally slightly yellowed, and sometimes with green spots, I just think they are awesome and love 'rescuing' them! :)

    36. Oh have I impulse bought lately and technically the whole last year …:sweat… and I love it lol I have a slight weak spot for project dolls, and then I also stumbled upon dolls/makers I’ve never heard of before by casually checking the MP and gosh I couldn’t resist. I am afraid to count lol But I technically impulse bought 1 project doll, one doll that was a limited doll I wanted but is no longer being sold - both within this week lol and I entered a planned pre-order in January. So there is quite some things coming my way. I love it! But my wallet has died and gone to heaven lol
I am currently on a “don’t look at the MP for two weeks” restriction lol I can’t help it when I see one and like what I see:evilplot:

    37. Sadly I am way to impulsive. I buy dolls more times then end up selling. It's one thing when I am trying a new company or a unique one, but when I repetitively buy dolls that I have already had and sold I get really annoyed with myself. I need to write a list of dolls and companies I should no longer buy from with a mantra below saying, "it didn't work the first time, or the fourth time so stop wasting money and move on."

    38. I might as well own up here as I’ve gotten snagged yet again by something fabulous!:doh I thought I was done…I swear I did. And then I saw the Myou Macarena here in the news section of DoA, and had one of those impulsive jaw dropping moments (you know the kind…one of those “I’ll just die if I don’t bring this doll home” impulsive moments!):o In my defense, I’ve had a lifelong love of religious iconography and this girl is the perfect embodiment of that aesthetic. How could I possibly resist?

So that makes 7 impulse buys, which seems like a lot. But out of a total of 49 dolls, it only works out to about 14% which doesn’t seem quite so bad.:sweat

    39. Five for sure, maybe six.

Mostly it's just that the opportunities came up unexpectedly, and I had to pounce. They were dolls I bought from other hobbyists that I hadn't really planned on, but when I saw them I fell in love. That's what I consider an impulse buy, typically. The exception is my Souldoll Nova, who I had to decide on quickly because he was very limited. I don't regret buying him at all, but I do wish companies would give us more time to think.

As for the "maybe six": Warren, my Luts MDF Terra, wasn't so much an impulse buy as a sooner-than-intended buy? I'd had in mind that I wanted a doll in their rosy brown color, but I didn't think I liked any of them enough (that I didn't already have). Then one day toward the end of an ordering period for that color, I went through the MDF dolls for the heck of it and instantly had to have a Terra.

Somehow, everybody else was planned. I guess I just make too many plans...

    40. Unexpected opportunities are definitely a thing! Sometimes you know you want something...eventually. And then things happen and planets align and eventually turns into "aaaaaaaa, or now, I guess???"

Funnily enough, my little collection is split half and half between planned and impulse, and yet I'm more fond of the impulse ones for the most part. The projects I meticulously plan, trying for that ideal hybrid and/or perfect shell for a character always end up losing their luster. I don't know if that's because the reality is always short of the perfect vision I have in my head, or if my focus has naturally drifted onto another idea by the time I get them! Maybe both! Sometimes I feel like planning a doll project can be more fun than executing it.

But with only a couple exceptions, the ones I've snagged just because they struck me as cool? I still like as much as ever. I think this has happened to me three times just idly browsing the MP alone, lol.

    41. YOOOO I'm just getting back into the hobby after a decade+ away where I had sold all of my dolls but one and I just impulse bought two dolls so... u_u

edited to add: all my dolls that I sold (and I miss!) were for the most part made by companies that no longer exist or don't sell the doll anymore and they're hard to find on the secondary market. I'm in a much better financial position than I was in my early twenties (part of why I sold most of them) so if I see some of my little loves again I will absolutely be snatching them up if I see them again!

    42. Almost all my dolls qualify as impulse buys in some way. I got into this hobby in 2005, bought my first doll as a secondhand head on the MP after I had saved up enough money as a broke teen. My philosophy is "the doll is available, I love it, and I can afford it" and that tends to guide what I buy, lol. Now that a lot of the dolls in my collection are old enough to have been discontinued, or made by companies that are no longer making dolls at all, I don't regret that strategy. I still basically abide by that, honestly, it gives me a lot of opportunity to add unique and uncommon dolls to my collection! I definitely have grail dolls that I'd love to own, but for the most part it's impulse all the way, haha. I only have one doll out of 23 that I can say I planned to get, and even she took about 15 years to happen. :XD: Sounds very scatterbrained, but it keeps me from the stress and anxiety of worrying about discontinuations, studio closures, shipping and production delays, and it also minimizes issues of photos being radically different from the doll in person. I like having the flexibility to enjoy things as they come!

      • x 3
    43. ...all of them? I'm going to say all of them. Unless a vague "I like this company/doll" counts as planning beforehand, I see a doll for sale and I jump on it.

      • x 2
    44. All of them!! None of my dolls have been planned in the slightest lmao

      • x 1
    45. Just one- It was soom zak artist version. I had slept for only 4 hours and it was before a final, saw him and just bought him out of stress

    46. For me, impulse-buying is where I feel like some force outside my control (like FOMO) is pushing me to make buying choices, but without time to reflect on the new doll or come up with even a vague plan for them. I find this unpleasant, I hate the feeling (whether real or perceived) of being forced to make a decision, so I try to resist this and give myself more time -- at least a few hours, preferably overnight to 2 days -- to think and settle the matter inside myself. But ideally, I want at least a whole week to ponder ... basically, to not impulse-buy.

2 of my dolls were impulse buys. For one of them, within 48 hours I went from discovering that the dollmaker made BJDs in my preferred scale (1/3), to ordering a doll. It was like a fog of madness descended on my rational judgment, and when the fog lifted a couple of days later my wallet was lighter and I had resin on order. I freaked out at first (how did I make a decision so fast, over how much money?!? --this is my most expensive doll), but eventually settled it inside myself. Thankfully it all worked out and now this doll is very dear to me.

The other impulse buy... well, I didn't expect to get anything. It so happens that this head sculpt is in crazy high demand and the preorder tends to be a clickwar. On a lark, I joined the preorder because I was curious about what BJD clickwarring felt like, but expected to just have an interesting experience and not get anywhere. (Though in retrospect I wasn't that impulsive, because I purposefully set up my buying account and funds beforehand, and was already waiting at the website right when the preorder opened.)
Well, to my astonishment, I made it all the way through checkout and now had an unplanned floating head on the way. I was not expecting or wanting a new doll! But I've now found a place for them in the crew.

      • x 7
    47. This is the realest thing I've read in a while! :lol:The worst part is that by now, it's happened to me a few times... no regrets yet, but it's only a matter of time.

To answer the original question, I think most of my dolls could be considered "impulse", because there was a powerful element of FOMO involved with each. The first two were fullsets that, although they evidently were available a long time (and one still is, last I checked), they did in fact have a quantity limit. Since I had no way to know how close that limit was to being depleted, I had to decide sooner rather than later. If I knew then that I would be where I am now, I probably would not have bought one of those two, but he's gorgeous, so I'm not in any rush to get rid of him.

Since then, almost everything else has been impulsive too, because I never know how long a company is going to keep something around, or because it's something like a Dream Valley release where there's a tight window of availability, and then after that, you're basically screwed and have to hope to catch an instock or secondhand.

There are only two things I don't consider impulse: one of those is all my Resinsouls, because this is the only company (that I'm currently aware of) which reliably keeps practically all of their sculpts available at all times. The other is my fullset He Yi, because I intended to eventually pick up a nude edition of him. Finding a fullset was unexpected, but I couldn't call it impulsive since he was the doll that was on my wishlist from the get-go.

    48. I believe in love at first sight so all my dolls were emotional choices and they always trumped any plans I had. But Candell was the only one who messed with my budget and timing. Her preorder was long over but the company told me they had one in stock. I dropped the money on the spot. No regrets, I love my little clown.

      • x 4
    49. Sometimes you have to impulse buy. Otherwise, "You snooze; you lose".

      • x 4
    50. Yup, it's this exactly, I'm not normally an impulse buyer, but BJDs are an exception to the rule that I'm becoming more comfortable with over time. I would love to be able to give months of thought to a purchase of this magnitude, but I'm quickly learning that if I see anything that speaks strongly to my sense of aesthetics, it's better to grab it now and rework the rest of the Fun Budget later. There'll be millions of copies of that video game (or Insert Widely Available Big Box Store Item Here) floating around for decades to come, but these art pieces? Not so much.

I also feel a bit less bad about impulse dolls knowing that there's a substantial secondhand market, and if I'm asking a reasonable price and keep all the important documentation around, there's a good chance I can recoup some of that loss.

      • x 2
    51. There’s only one that I would consider to be truly impulsive, and that’s the only one I’ve never really done anything with. I never bonded with this doll and one day I’ll get around to selling.

Technically my most recent was somewhat of an impulse, but not sure if she counts because I’d wanted her since 2009. I wasn’t planning to buy any dolls when I got back into the hobby, so the decision to get one was impulsive, but again, I wanted her since forever and I’m so happy to have her now.

      • x 1
    52. I’m afraid most of mine have been impulse purchases, but I’m really happy with what I have. I’m definitely going to be a bit more sparing with my money moving forward. It’s in these situations that being a bit picky can be helpful.

      • x 2
    53. I am trying really hard not to make impulse buys but alas I ended up with one full impulse doll, which was second hand and 2 impulse doll heads. The rest of my dolls were planned at least a couple weeks/months ahead and I had ideas for them already.

I really like the impulse doll/heads but I feel like its such a slippery slope. Part of the reason I try to shell OCs is because I thought it would help me limit how many dolls I got. I had no idea what I would do with the doll heads as I don't have a OC concept to shell on them but I ended up really loving the doll heads enough to start shopping for bodies. So yea, impulse buys are dangerous for me and my wallet.

      • x 2
    54. I think I had some impulse purchases back in my very early days of the hobby that were typically limited edition dolls, but I've generally regretted all of them. Nowadays, I no longer impulse purchase despite the onslaught of temptations due to limited preorder periods (particularly with Chinese companies or artists).

Some of my secondhand purchases could be thought of as impulsive, but mostly from a timing perspective? Typically I'll have the doll on my wishlist and if I come across one on the secondhand market at a good price with a faceup I like, I'll spring for it so long as I have the budget.

      • x 3
    55. So because I am a very boring and paranoid individual at times, i have a hard time parting with an amount of money over £50 without thinking it through atleast a few days, so Im rarely impulsive with spending.
I've purchased 36 bjds since I started this hobby march 2009, and only 2 of those I would call impulsive.
The first was at a doll meet in 2011, so I had to decide there and then. She was very cute and the 2nd doll of her size (16cm) which I'd recently fell in love with, which is probably 1 of the points that swayed me.
The second impulse doll hasn't arrived yet as I only decided to be impulsive on friday I think? Or was it thursday... either way, I was looking at my wish list, and there was a few from the same company I havent got a doll from before. And while i was researching this company, the reported production times broke my impatient lil heart so just for fun I looked on the market place. I didnt expect to find anything I wanted. The 1 I found wasnt even on my wish list, but I didnt know whybecause she was so cute! I checked the company pics and thats probably why, the company pics didnt 'speak' to me. But her little face in the sale thread did. I left it upto fate. I asked the seller if the doll was available. If not it wasnt to be. But she was, so I bought her.
No thought and no plans for her name or character. Thinking of a character and/or name before I buy a doll is kind of a personal rule and I broke it

    56. Most of them  But, aside from the issue of trying to get rid of the ones that didn't work out, I don't entirely see it as a bad thing. Thanks to impulse buying, I learned very quickly that what I like in a photo is not necessarily what I like to hold in my hands, and now I know what to look for. Super skinny bodies? Look great in pics, but nope. Smooth, undetailed bodies? Also nope. Full-sets and company faceups? Absolutely not, I have to paint a doll myself to feel a connection and excitement for it. Now when I impulse buy, I essentially already know what I'm looking for, but I can still appreciate the things I don't like personally in other people's photos.

Oh very much this, I just missed out on a doll I desperately wanted this way. Should've been impulsive two weeks ago!

    57. Technically my very first doll, a DD boy , was sort of an impulse buy, because my ex more jokingly said "How about you get into Dollfies as well", and like a day later there was a DDSB in the right skin tone tight there on Mandarake in good condition and a good price ... so that just happened.
I usually try to keep my impulses in check and only act on them if it is a doll/head with a fairly low price, but sometimes it is semi-impulsive, where I see a doll, fall in love instantly because it would work for one of my boys and then act on it in the following days.
Or cases of browsing Mandarake and spotting a good deal for something that I wanted anyway. Happened to me with a mystery 1/3 boy that looked perfect as a hybrid option for one of my floating heads and I just got him in hope that it would be a good match. Or a MDD body with a modded boy chest that just happened to be perfect for a head which I sort of took a break from.
I like to call these happy little coincidences, really.

    58. I was determined not to buy any dolls this year but I just had one of these “happy little coincidences” you speak of. Many moons ago I had a Luts Kid Delf Aru (cutest sculpt in the world:XD:) but her MSD size didn’t work out for her character, so I sold her on. But I always missed that sweet face! All these years later I stumbled across a Luts Aru head (more recently released in SD size) right here in the marketplace. And it was at a great price too! I recognized immediately that she would be perfect for a new character I’d created, and would fit on a body I already owned, so I bought her on the spot!:thumbup

    59. I just impulse bought a doll breaking my vow to stick to my wish list this year.
I mean, it was a good deal.
      The doll is fullset.
I can make a character for him.
      Yeah, bad impulse control.
      :XD:

    60. Omigawd, I just realized that none of my dolls are impulse buy dolls. :ablink: I think it's because if I really want something, I get it. But before I get it, I make sure I'm in a financially good place before I do. And if I'm not in a financial place to buy that doll immediately, I save up and get the doll when I can afford to. So...basically I still wait and think about my doll purchases before I get them. Now, if you ask me about impulse jewelry buys...that's another story. Hahaha.:XD::sweat:chomp:
