size 10 crochet thread
size 7 (1.65mm) steel hook

Note: V st =(dc, ch2, dc) in same sp.
Shell= (2dc, ch2, 2 dc) in same sp.
check directions for fuller skirt

Row 1: ch 49, sc in 48 sts across, turn
Row 2: sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to*
across, end sc in last sc (60 sts) turn
Row 3: sc in first 8 sts, ch 8, skip 14 sts, sc in next 16 sts, ch 8, sk 14 sts, sc in last 8 sts.
(48 sts) turn
Row 4-12: sc in ea st across. At end of last row, ch 4, turn
Row 13: (Beading Row for waist) sk 1st st, dc in next st, *ch 1, sk 1 st, dc in next st*
repeat from * to * across. (24 dc, 1 ch 4) ch 3, turn.
Row 14: V st of (dc, ch 2, dc) in ea dc across, end dc in last dc, ch 3, turn.
Row 15: * V st in ch 2 of first V st, shell of (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) in next V st*, repeat
from * to * across, end dc in last dc, ch 2, join to first dc of row.
Now work in rounds
Row 16: sl st to ch 2 sp of first V st, (ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2dc) in same ch 2 sp, shell in ea ch 2
sp across. join to first ch 3 of row.
Row 17-24: sl st to first ch 2 sp of first V st, ( ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, shell in ea
ch 2 sp across. Join to first ch 3 of row. End off and run in thread ends.
To make the skirt fuller:
work rows 16-18 with size 6 hook
work rows 19-21 with size 5 hook
work rows 22-24 with size 4 hook

Shoulder ruffles: with size 7 hook, and right side of work facing you, attach thread to last st of underarm st of bodice, sc in same sp, work 5 shells across shoulder sts (in 2-5-8-11-14 st) sc in first underarm st and end off. Run in thread ends.

Finishing:
Attach thread at st below beading row at back, work 2 sc around dc of beading row, then one sc in end of each row to within 2 sts of neckline; ch 5, sc in first st of neckline (forming a thread loop) and sl st across neckline, then sc in ea row down to beading row, 2 sc in beading row, sl st in next st and end off.
Sew a tiny button opposite thread loop at the neck to fasten top, and run ribbon through beading row. Tie in a bow at back.

1/8 inch ribbon
size 4 steel crochet hook
Note: V st =dc, ch 2, dc in same stitch
Shell = 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st

Row 1: ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3, do 14 dc in ring (15 dc) Join to top of first ch 3
Row 2: ch 3, dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in ea dc around (30 sts) Join
Row 3: ch 3, dc in next dc, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in ea of next 2 dc*, repeat from * to * around, end with 2
dc in last dc (40 sts) Join
Row 4: ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, *dc in ea of next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around
(50 sts) Join
Row 5: ch 3, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, *dc in ea of next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around
(60 sts) Join
Row 6-8: work even- dc in ea st around. (60 sts) Join
Row 9: Ch 5, *skip one st, dc in nest st* repeat from * to * around. (30 dc, 30 ch 1 spaces)
Row 10: ch 5, dc in same st, skip next st, *( dc, ch 2, dc ) in next st, skip
next st * repeat from * to * around. Join to 3rd chain of ch 5 at beginning of row. (30 V sts)
Row 11: ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc in ch 2 of first V st,* V st (dc, ch 2 ,dc) in next V st, shell of( 2 dc ,ch 2, 2 dc) in
next V st, repeat from * around, end V st in last V st, Join to ch 3 of first shell st (15 shells, 15 V
sts)
Row 12: sl st in first 2 dc(ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc ) in ch 2 sp of first shell, shell in each ch 2 sp of ea shell and
V st around, join to ch 3 of first shell (30 shells)

End off. Run in thread ends.

Thread a ribbon thru row 9.Tie in bow. You can embellish with silk roses or whatever to dress up
the hat.

 

OOPS! It should be repeat row 15. Sorry about that. After the skirt is joined you just work in rounds without turning. At the joining, I just slip st in the top of the ch 3 at the beginning of the row. Hope that helps. I did fix the typo in the pattern.

 

No, it's not for a Lati yellow-it's shown and fitted on my LF Ante. Do you crochet tightly? I think maybe you need to use a bigger hook if you do.
