    1. MSD Crochet Dress Pattern

      Materials needed:
      Size 20 thread in two colors (Main color= MC, Contrasting color=CC)
      Size 1.0mm (US 11/12) crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge)
      4 tiny buttons or snaps

      Gauge:
      10sts = 1 inch/ 8 rows= 1 inch

      Crochet terms are in US terms
      Ch= chain
      Sc= single crochet
      Dc= double crochet
      Dc dec= dc the next two sts together
      Shell= 5dc in indicated stitch
      St/sts= stitch/stitches
      Sl st= slip stitch

      Dress
      Bodice:
      Row 1: With/MC ch 73. sc in 2nd chain from hook, *dc next ch, sc next ch.* Repeat across, ending with dc in last ch. Ch1, turn. (72 sts).
      Rows 2-6: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.

      Left Back:
      Row 7: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 16 stitches. Ch1, turn, leaving remaining stitches unworked. (16 sts)
      Row 8: Skip sc, dc in next sc, work across as established. Ch 1, turn. (15 sts)
      Row 9: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc to last 2 stitches. Work dc dec in last two sts. Ch 1, turn. (14 sts)
      Row 10-14: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Break off.
      Row 15: Skip first 6 sts, join in next st, ch1, sc in same st, dc in nxt. Work in pattern to end, ch 1, turn. (8 sts)
      Row 16: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc. Fasten off.

      Front:
      Row 7: Skip 4 sts, join MC in next st, ch 1, sc in same st, dc next st. Work sc in each dc, dc in each sc, for a total of 32 stitches. Ch 1, turn, leaving remaining stitches unworked. (32 sts)
      Row 8: Skip first st, dc in next stitch. Work sc in each dc, dc in each sc to last 2 sts, work dc dec in last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (30 sts)
      Row 9: Skip first st, sc in next stitch. Work sc in each dc, dc in each sc to last 2 sts, work dc dec in last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn. (28 sts)
      Row 10-12: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.

      Left Front:
      Row 13: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 8 sts total. Ch 1, turn, leaving remaining sts unworked. (8 sts)
      Row 14-18: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At the end of Row 18, fasten off, leaving a length for sewing.

      Right Front:
      Row 13: Skip next 12 from Row 12, join in next st. Ch 1, sc in same st, dc in next st. Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across to end. Ch1, turn. (8 sts)
      Row 14-18: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At the end of Row 18, fasten off, leaving a length for sewing.

      Right Back:
      Row 7: Skip next 4 sts of Bodice, join in next st. Ch 1, sc in same st, dc in next st. Sc in each dc, dc in each sc to end. Ch 1, turn. (16 sts)
      Row 8: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc to last 2 sts. Work dc dec in last 2 sts, ch 1, turn. (15 sts)
      Row 9: Skip first st, sc in next st, dc in next st. Work sc in each dc, dc in each sc across to end. Ch 1, turn. (14 sts)
      Row 10- 14: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
      Row 15: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 8 sts total. Ch 1, turn. (8 sts)
      Row 16: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Fasten off.

      Sew shoulder seams together. Weave in ends.

      Skirt:
      Row 1: With CC, join in beginning chain of Bodice, with right-side facing. Ch 1, work 1 sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (72 sc)
      Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
      Row 3: With MC, join in first sc, ch 1, *sc in next st, dc in next st.* Repeat from * to * to end. Ch 1, turn. (72 sts)
      Row 4: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
      Row 5: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 17 sts, *dc, sc in next st* two times. Dc in each sc, sc in each dc for 34 sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Ch 1, turn. (76 sts)
      Row 6- 9: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
      Row 10: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 18 sts, *sc, dc in next st* two times. Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 36 sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Ch 1, turn. (80 sts)
      Row 11: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
      Row 12: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn. (Piece is now worked in rounds).
      Round 13-14: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 15: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 19sts, *dc, sc in next st* two times. Dc in each sc, sc in each dc for 38sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Join. Ch1, turn. (84 sts)
      Rounds 16-19: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 20: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 20 sts, *sc, dc in next st* two times. Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 40 sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Join. Ch 1, turn. (88 sts)
      Rounds 21-24: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 25: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 21sts, *dc, sc in next st* two times. Dc in each sc, sc in each dc for 42sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Join. Ch1, turn. (92 sts)
      Rounds 26-29: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 30: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 22 sts, *sc, dc in next st* two times. Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 44 sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Join. Ch 1, turn. (96 sts)
      Rounds 31-34: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 35: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc for 23sts, *dc, sc in next st* two times. Dc in each sc, sc in each dc for 46sts, repeat from * to *, Dc in each sc, sc in each dc across to end. Join. Ch1, turn. (100 sts)
      Round 36- 40: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Fasten off. Turn. (skirt can be made longer if desired at this point by simply adding more rows)
      Round 41: Join CC with sl st in last dc of Round 40, ch 1, sc each st across. Join. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 42: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off. Turn. (100 sts)
      Round 43: Join MC in last sc of Round 42, ch 2, work 2 dc in each sc across. Join. Ch 1, turn (200 dc)
      Rounds 44: Sc in first st, dc in next st. *Sc in next dc, dc in next dc* Repeat from * to *. Join. Ch 1, turn (200 sts)
      Rounds 45-46: Sc in each dc, dc in each sc across. Join to first sc with sl st. Fasten off. Turn.
      Round 47: Join CC in last st of Round 46, ch 1, sc in same st. Sc in next 23 sc, *2 sc next st, sc next 24.* Repeat from * to * around. Join, Ch 1, turn. (204 sts)
      Round 48: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
      Round 49: sc in first sc, *skip 2 sc, shell in next sc, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc* around for 34 shells. Join. Fasten off and weave in ends.

      Armhole Edging: With right side facing, work 40 sc evenly around armhole with MC.

      Buttonband: With wrong side facing, join MC and work 42 sc along the edge of the back opening on the left side. Turn and sc in each sc across. Fasten off.

      Buttonhole band: With wrong side facing, join MC and work *8 sc, ch 2, sk 2 rows* across, ending with 2 sc. Turn and work 1 sc in each sc or ch across (42 sc) Fasten off and sew band ends together at skirt joining, overlapping buttonhole band on top of button band. (Note: if you plan to use snaps, omit the ch 2’s and work 42 sc as per the button band).

      Neck edging: With CC, join in the top of the buttonband on left side, ch 1, and sc 56 sc evenly around the neckline. Ch 1, turn and work 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off.

      Weave in all ends and attach buttons.
