    3. Excellent! Thank you. I've been looking for a decent pattern for when my doll finally gets here.

    4. Thank you! I'm a crocheter. My sewing is so rusty and never great at it. This is something I can manage. :daisy

    5. hello,
I started this dress but Im 'hooked' at this row "
Row 12: ch 3, V st (dc, ch2, dc) in ea dc post across, end with dc in fourth ch of ch 5 (23 V
      sts, 2 ch 3 posts)"

I dont understand where to insert the hook and what are these "dc posts" across...

and what is Vst (it's a "dc, ch2, dc"?)

I thought was simple pattern for me but now I realize that maybe was easy just the first body part... The skirt is more for 'advanced' crocheters? Or maybe is just my fears as Im hooked at this point ?

      I hope I can complete it >_<

    6. as I do a fair bit of reading patterns I would read the above like this

as it says "in each dc accross" It would be done in the top of the dc stitch from the previous row so go through the two loops as normal but only in the dc stitches - hope that makes sense

yes a V stitch = dc, chain 2 and another dc all in the same stitch

    7. thank you! I will try later..i hope I understood right... Dc posts are a bit hard to catch since the work of previous row 11... But i will try to see.... "only in dc stripes'?

    8. i will take a pic later . To show why im confused...

    10. Exactly-just as it is written. Thank you.

    11. Thanks for the tips... I think it's also because English is not my native language... that's why it's more hard than for others...

      Edit:
Alright, I think I understood maybe...
since I'm at this point , now I have to proceed with row 12 but I don't understand where to intert the hook
      to do this:
Row 12: ch 3, V st (dc, ch2, dc) in ea dc post across, end with dc in fourth ch of ch 5 (23 V
      sts, 2 ch 3 posts)
      So
"each dc post" means I have to insert the hook just in the in dc I did in the row 11 and not in the chain , So I will try again :D
      I think I understood now.. :D

Edit: mmm.... I don't know.... I'm not convinced...
I tried to do 3 chains, then the v stitch (1 dc, 2 chains and another dc in the same dc of previous row ) and it come out like this: is that a 'v' stitch? It doesnt look like the photo above... :(((

PS.. ok I gave a look to other rows (13, 14 etc.. ) and I understood that this is too complicated for me... Row 13: ch 3, dc in 1st sp before V st, V st in 1st V st, *dc in next sp before next V
st, V st in next V st* repeat from * to * across, end dc in sp after last v st, dc in
      top of ch 3, turn
Row 14: ch 3, dc in dc before 1st V st, shell (2dc, ch, 2 2 dc) in next V st, *dc in dc, shell
in next V st* repeat from * to * across, end dc in last dc, dc in top of ch 3, ch 2,
join to 1st dc of row with a sl st. Do not turn (24 shells, 24 dc posts))

If I can do a skirt more simple, without shells, or 1 st sp before v st, v st in 1 st v st etc.. is better...
I'm not native english.. I' m very confused. I think this is not for beginners and not native english speakers.... I give up.... maybe I could attach a skirt in fabric and make something... >< sorry, I again....

I have another question: it's normal that the body shape it come out so 'puffy' like that?? Maybe I did something wrong... I should restart again?

    12. You got it thats how you do the v-stich. and you are going in the right spot too!
it looks different to the photo because some of the posts (row 11) are covered by the ribbon.

yes it does sound complicated and if your not used to reading patterns and english is not native, i can understand why your having trouble.
if you give me a day or two I could whip up something to show you - don't lose heart you have almost got it!

Not sure I would have to do the pattern myself to try it.

so i have been busy but finally got to do a bit of crochet
@soulcalibur33 I hope this pictures help

below this is where you insert your hook to do the V stitch (DC, chain 2, DC) all in the one stitch

below is the piece i am working on - you might have to check your tension and keep it consistant but there is no bubble effect in mine.

      really hope this helps :eusa_pray

@sweetiemom - thank you so much for the pattern - I have adapted it slightly for my narsha girl - May
its so sweet and pretty used a size 2.5 mm hook and 3ply baby yarn. its slightly too big but you can get away with it :cheer

    13. Thank you! I
Thank you! I understand where to insert the hook at that point (Row 11 and 12) but after that, I looks the next rows and are very complicated for me... this dress is definitively not good for a not native english spoken person (I'm talking about the skirt), the body above is still good for beginners.. but for me , the skirt isn't that easy .. so I give up, it's really complicated .... I did other works in crochet, but I never saw a pattern so complicated like this skirt before... (of course I'm speaking as beginner crocheter)....

Thanks for the photos, I'm glad you was able to make a dress for your doll! Maybe in future, but for now, this pattern is complicated.... and I don't know. I can compared to other patterns I have done, I don't know if for good crochets it's easy, but I think also the instructions are written in a way that it's confusionary (the skirt) in the sense that I wish the skirt could have also a version more simplify for less advanced croceters...

EDIT: I was contacted by the person who created this pattern thinking I was impolite. But I just said what I experienced. I can't say it was easy for beginner (not native speakers) when I experienced it's not easy . I don't know why people immediately feel offended for expressing what I think in polite way. So forget what I wrote. The pattern is also for beginners and I'm too stupid and I can't do it.

      Hope now is better.

A last note, just to show the difference of reactions. If I were ME that i wrote this pattern and someone would tell me what I wrote about their experience, I absolutely feel ok, I would not be upset AT ALL.. Really... Zero. If someone have problems, have problems... that's ok and even tell that give up it's ok. It's not an offence to somone, it's a review. I don't want at any costs that people praises me.

Btw I apologize if the publisher of this pattern felt offended. I think the dress is cute, and I was sad to not be able to complete it. If the person feel resentment toward me, it's from that part. I still don't have nothing agaist people. So it's her. From my part, I'm opened to be in peace with everybody.
She said to not talk to her anymore... from my side, she can talk to me because I don't have anything against her. I was talking about the pattern.
People should be more charitable... if is sufficent to said something about a pattern, and already be so angry, guess in the more hard things, how these people react...
      Be peaceful! Ok?
resentment is not good for anyone. I don't want people feel that way for my words... especially when I didn't intended to hurt nobody. I now realize that this person is a bit easily touchy... but there's no need to call me "ungrateful" ust because I can not make a pattern and I express it and searched help'...

uote ". If you don't understand English, don't try a pattern written in it.

No, i did many patterns in English but this specific was hard for a real beginner. Other english patterns was easy for me. If for rreal beginners.. Thats all.

    14. Very nicely done-and it is a simple pattern, isn't it?

    15. I'm finally getting to crochet this sweet dress for my 5 Star Ria, who has been so neglected for awhile. I love the pattern and has been a fun and easy crochet. So far the bodice fits perfectly and the skirt is coming along fine. I'm not sure how long I'll make it yet. I'm thinking a shorter version would be adorable with leggings too.
