Crochet Crochet Cowl for SD

Mar 17, 2020

    1. I found a really simple cowl pattern on Youtube using the v-stitch and decided to shrink it down for a 1/3 sized doll. This pattern takes 5-10 minutes depending on how many color changes you choose to have.

For this pattern, I used a size 4 yarn and a 5mm hook. This is in US terms. You can change colors however you please between rows, or keep it solid. To change colors, I actually just tied it in a knot on my current work (this is described in the video linked above). You can change the hook and yarn size to make it fit any doll size, just make sure your starting chain is a multiple of three.

According to your preferred style, you can change the circumference, but make sure the chain is a multiple of three. I used four rows for my 60cm boy, but you can add as many rows as you want for bigger or smaller dolls. You may want to make it a little narrower for girls.

      Key:
      DC - Double Crochet
      Ch - Chain
      Sl St - Slip Stitch

Start: Ch 27, smooth finger along to make sure all stitches are straight, Sl St in first Ch
Rnd 1: Ch 4, DC in first stitch, [*skip two stitches, DC in next stitch, Ch1, DC in same stitch] repeat * until you have two stitches left. Sl St into third Ch from the previous row's Ch4
Rnd 2-4: same as Rnd 1
Finishing: Once you have done your last Sl St, make a Ch, clip yarn, pull tail through. Weave in ends.

    3. That is adorable! And simple enough even as a newbie who has never been able to understand pattern i think i could tackle that. Thanks!

    4. Thanks! I hope it works out for you! I’d love to see what you come up with:)
