Critique for my demon sculpt, please!

Feb 12, 2021

    1. Hi there! I've been practicing 3D Modeling recently, and I finally have something that I feel happy with. This is the fourth head I've sculpted in Zbrush, and I intend for him to one day be printed and cast as a 1/4 scale head. I would really appreciate any feedback that you have, positive or negative! I'm by no means completely done with this head, so I'll take feedback into account when I work on him next.

Bonus question: I originally planned to undo my symmetry lock and give this head a smirking expression, like in the below concept art, but I'm not sure if that would look nicer or not anymore. Please let me know your opinions ^^

    2. I personally love the asymmetric sketch, but the work you've done in zbrush so far looks nice :) I would pronunciate the lips a little on the profile side, and I would accentuate the hooked nose. All in all a good peculiar sculpt, I'd love to see updates on it :D

    3. The face is looking very good. Some advice from personal experience, is to sculpt the doll until you are completely happy, and aren't going to change anything, and then turn off symmetry. Asymmetry looks nice, as long as there's a "balance", your sketch has this balance.

But for reference I’ll elaborate on this, when making my doll, I wanted a scar, when I had it on one cheek, it looked unbalanced, because the other cheek was smooth. Having an asymmetric scar across the nose looked balanced because it was on both sides of the face.
