Crescent Shop Questions

Jan 24, 2006

    1. Has anyone here had any experience using Crescent Shop to bid on items on yahoo Japan auctions?

I ask because I submitted a request to bid on this particular item using the form on their site in their member's section (I preordered my Unoa through them so I figured I might as well make use of my account since I had heard good things about them)

However, I submitted my order yesterday, recieving an automated response from crescent saying that I did, and so far the auction still has not been bid on. There's only ten hours left for this particular auction, so I'm starting to worry at this point.

Does anyone who has bid using them before know if this is typical for them or not? Should I just email them asking them to cancel my bid and just use another shopping service?

    2. Have you sent in the deposit for the auction? Sometimes they do take a little bit to get a bid in (since its just a person doing it manually, unlike SMJ) but they will get your bid in! :)

    3. Masamichi has been a little slow in bids. However he told me that if I really need to get my bid in to raise my bid by like a few yen (even 1 would work) so that they get another message. Also they only place bids from 5pm to 5am US Pacific Standard Time. They usually get the job done, I've bid on items with only 15 minutes left and they've never missed a bid for me.

Edit/ the order recieved message is automatic and just means your order has been sent, not that they have actually processed it yet

    4. Masamichi is great! He's how I got my Mitsuki.

When I bid there was only like 2 hrs to go and he didn't bid for such a long time I thought for sure he had missed my request. Then, he bid at the very last second, winning her for me. Don't know if it was on purpose or not, but I was a very happy girl!

    5. Oh, okay. Good! :) I was a little worried, but reading that makes me feel better.

    6. Masamichi has always been super prompt in placing bids for me.. if you're worried, just send him a message to remind him. ^^

    7. Crescent Shop is very prompt when you've already put in a deposit, but if you just put in a deposit when you bid they can be a bit slow.

I tried to get a pair of Dolpa 14 V-jeans using the BIN price a few days ago, and when I put in my bid I also put in my deposit at the same time. It was at least eight hours before they finally tried to bid on the auction for me, but by that time someone else had used the buy-out price (that was about three hours later). It was a little frustrating...

      Other than that, though, Crescent Shop has excellent service. Just make sure your deposit is placed beforehand. ^^;

    8. Yup, and depending on what bidding service you use, as long as you're not doing a "BIN" type auction, they'll try to bid at the last minute vice putting it in ahead of time, so you might have a better chance of winning if someone is lurking and watching the auction :) I've used Masamichi/Crescent in the past and for other non-auction goodies, but uses Celga Gold for Y!J so I can bid when I want.

    9. Update: They did bid and I won! :D Thanks for all those of you gave me advice and reassurance .

In case you were wondering, the item I was bidding on was a sleeping unoa face-plate, and I'm so happy that I won it! :chibi

Unfortunately my laptop froze and I had to restart it, so I don't know when they placed their bid since the window I had open w/ the auction was lost.

I'm so happy that I won it though! The resin will be a different color than my girl's body though, but I don't mind. :) I hadn't seen too many sleeping faces on YJ in a long time, and before I found this auction I didn't think I was going to find one, but I did! I will definately be using Crescent to bid on stuff in the future. :)

    10. and have always had good experiences with them. I usually ask them to wait until close to the end of auction to put my bid in so the price isn't driven up to high. But I've found that even when I'm outbid with less than 5 minutes to go, I can still go in and raise my bid. I've had some close calls and have been lucky.

    11. yay! i just won a wink plate for my girl- bid at 11 minutes till end and won it! ^__^ i use SMJ tho i like to bid myself. real time..

i hope the new girls will eventually get sleep plates. I want one XD

    12. uhmmm~ I recently just won an auction for a Body for my girl on crescent shop...but, It wont let me pay for it. Does anyone know how I pay for it, and or find the total?
I have a 100 in the deposit, and what do I do with that? Do I put the rest of the money for the doll into there? Please help! Im so confused @_@ thanks!

      -Con

    13. Once Crescent has paid the seller (after the seller gets back to Crescent about the total), the pay option will appear automatically, along with the total at current exchange rates. You'll see a little check box in the Pay column next to the auction.

Once you've paid for all your pending auctions and you have no auctions you're currently bidding on, you can request a refund of the deposit, and willl usually get it within a few hours.

      Hope that helps. :)

    14. Thanks so much for the help! It really cleared up some things ^_^

    15. No problem. :) Hope your purchases gets to you soon~

    16. Sometimes Crescent will pay for part of your auction (shipping usually, I think) COD, so you won't actually be able to pay until it arrives at their office. So if it takes a few days, that's likely what the holdup is.

    17. Okay reviving this thread because I have questions too. I'm bidding on two auctions right now from the same seller and one I already won, (it was BIN) and the other still has two days. I've been checking on my auction list page everyday, it's been about three days since I won it and I see no where that I can click so I can pay, I'm figuring it pops up just like the "raise" button does when you're bidding on something.

Do I have to e-mail them or are they maybe waiting on the other auction to close or do I pay after they receive the items? I want to pay it off before I lose it and I'm afraid I'm doing something wrong. Help~:?

    18. Pay button pops up when they recive the item you've bidded on.. it may take few days.

    19. Thank you so much~ :)

    20. Doesn't hurt to send them a message via the auction Q&A board to ask. :) They may have thought that you wanted to combine shipping and asked the seller to hold the item while your other auction runs? Just a thought.

    21. Yeah I was thinking about that too, I was wanting to wait until after the second auction ends and see what they are doing but it wouldn't hurt to ask now, just to make sure they aren't waiting on me.

    22. I'm new to Crescent Shop's new site system. I won an auction 2 days ago and I don't see anywhere with my total or how to pay the remainder? Will they invoice me or will a button to pay pop up? If the latter, where will the place to pay be located on the members' site? Thanks for any help! :)

    23. You should be able to pay them with Paypal or CC through Paypal. If you are not sure, check the FAQs and then email Masamichi and ask.

    24. :sweat No I'm not asking what kind of payments they accept, I'm asking how do I pay an auction once I've won it. I wasn't given an invoice or total and its been a few days. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to request it or wait.

    25. when you log in, choose "auction list" from the left navigation.

you'll see what you need to there.

    26. It can take a day or two for the payment option to show up on the Auction List. I couple of times I was not given the option to pay until the item arrived at their offices.

    27. Thanks SO much sgtgeorgecarter and Izayoi! Thats exactly what I wanted to know :aheartbea

    28. An auction isn't payable until Crescent has paid the seller, actually. This may take no time at all - the same day you won the auction - or it may take quite a while - over a week or more!
You know how it is, some sellers are very responsive, others put up auctions just before they go on vacation and are incommunicado for the longest time...

The auctions Izayoi weren't able to pay until Crescent recieved them sound like CODs... Were they dolls, by any chance?

When Crescent has paid the seller, a little icon appears by the auction in the Auction List page. You can then check the little box by the auction, and klick the Pay button on the bottom of the auction list.

You can pay auctions individually, or pay for a bunch of auctions at a time.

Crescents system is sooo easy to use.... *deep sigh*

    29. They are only accepting paypal, and I can only use a credit card.
*I know what you are thinking...just make a paypal account... BUT!, I can't.* :sweat

So my question is, can you pay throught paypal but without being registered, like some sites do, they link you to paypal and you only have to write your info about your credit card?

    30. Unfortunately that is not possible. When you click on the send money tab online, it seems like you don't need to sign up for an account to send money. The page after that says to enter your billing information to create an account.

Is there a specific reason why you can't make a Paypal account?

    31. Aww! *sad* xD
Anyway, thanks for your answer! ^^

For make a short story, I lost my password, tried everything for recover it but that didn't work. So now, I would have to send to paypal a lot of papers by fax for recover it...What I'm not planning to do for the moment. :sweat

    32. Just to let you know, each person is allowed to have 2 Paypal accounts, 1 personal and 1 premier/business. However, each account can't have the same bank account/credit card information. You can use your checking/savings or debit cards. More info here.

    33. Will they send an email telling me how much I owe to them? I figure it will be in Yen, no problem there, but I am wondering. I did win a doll, just wanna pay them as quickly as possible!

    34. Did you do an auction or did you buy off of a shop because depending on which one you did the method of contacting you will be different.

    35. Auction, a buyout priced one at that! Which I didn't notice at first either.

    36. A few days after winning your auction you'll recieve a email titled "Reciept of your Payment to Crescent Trading Inc." - It will be a Paypal reciept and the amount you owe will be in US funds: the winning auction price plus the internal shipping, their service fee, etc.

After you send payment, Crescent Shop will send you an email confirmation.

Once your package arrives at their office (it may take a week or more depending on how fast the seller ships), they'll send you another Paypal Reciept for the shipping to your address, again in US funds. They will send you another confirmation of your payment once you make it. They always use EMS and you'll get a tracking code.

      Hope that helps!

    37. Thanks! They'll be who I use to get my own Renee!

    38. In the Members Menu’ Auction List, a small box will appear to the far left of your winning auction title. When selecting this, and then using the pay option below, an invoice with the total owed will be shown in usd. You will not receive an email before you pay. Once payment is made, go to the Members Menu’ Pending Shipment; you will have to confirm the shipment of your item and also select the postage method, they will ship ems unless stated otherwise. You will then have to send an additional payment for postage cost. Hope this helps, and congratulations on your new girl.

    39. Thank you very much! I was expecting an email.

    40. This question has been answered but I wanted to add that I agree with aliceBJD - unlike what was said above you will not get an email before you pay. You have to check the website. The checkbox to the left of your auction in the Auction List will only appear once Crescent has paid the Japanese seller and therefore know how much to charge you with shipping included. Once you check that box and click "pay", you get a page telling you the amount payable in USD including postage within Japan and Crescent's fees, thne you'll be redirected to Paypal, etc.. You will pay in USD rather than in JPY.

    41. As stated by previous posters, you need to pay for purchase/shipping from the original seller to Crescent Shop. They won't email you - you just check back often for "Received" (or whatever it is).

Just to be clear, AFTER you pay for it, you will ALSO need to tell them you want it shipped to you (do NOT do this if you are buying something else and want to combine the order, until all your items have arrived). Check to see when they have calculated shipping (a day or three). Then pay shipping.

It will then be on its way to you.

    42. Well, they have stated she has shipped, I do have a number, but other than a tiny bit of information from the Japanese postal site, I can't tell if she has even moved! USPS doesn't even have her number!

    43. That's pretty normal. EMS tracking from Japan can be a bit crap, and any tracking within the US tends to be incredibly behind -- I often have packages that don't update between clearing customs and arriving at my door (only to have updated tracking the next day with all the correct times). It took like two days for USPS to realize my EMS tracking number from Japan even existed.

    44. Hi!!

I tried to search for this topic with no luck.. I have a stupid question.. >.< Is the bidding system like EBAY? Like you bid your "maximum" and it will automatically increase by itself by increments as someone "tries" to outbid you?

Or does it bid the exact amount directly even if the bid gap is huge?

IE. bid 5,000 on a 50 yen item and it will automatically bid 5k regardless if the gap is huge

I hope I make sense.. >.< and yes im aware this question is totally noobish........ :doh

    45. Naaw, it's like eBay, no worries.

    46. thank you SO much for answering ^__^ i have yet another /stupid/ question ;___; (nevermind, not allowed to do that i guess >>; they didnt say it directly in their faq but yeah pretty clear enough )

    47. Yup, the bidding system does work like eBay, but the different thing is that for Y!J auctions, the seller gets to implement "automatic extension" too to try to cut down on sniping. So the auction is set for auto extension, if a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction, the ending time will be extended by another 10 minutes.

    48. There are bid increments, 10, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 yen (and more, I suppose...) depending on what sum the auction is at. The auction tells you what the bid increment is, as well!

      Y!J tells you:
      Current high bid:
      Time remaining to auction's end:
      Name of the high bidder:
How many items are offered: (1 for a regular auction, 2 or more for a Dutch auction)
      Number of bids:
      Bid increment:
      Where geographically the goods are:
      When the auction started:
      When the auction ends:
      The auction ID:
Note: (for example if the seller ships internationally or not)

    49. thank you guys!! you all have been very helpful! ^__^ There was some bidding war going on throughout the auction and it was a close call! The High Bid was way too close for comfort towards the Autobuy price so i had no choice but to AB it.. =(

oh well >w<... i gots me a Volks YoSD megu now... hee.

thank you so much!! Really helped me =)

    50. I have a couple of questions. I bought a yo-sd outfit, a SD outfit and a Sylvie SD head. About how much would that probably weight as a min-max probably?

Also if you go to the shipment page, check mark the items and then click confirm shipment, does it charge you then or later or just give you a shipping cost estimate? (What happens?)

How long does EMS from crescent shop usually take?

      Thanks.

    51. I've found that EMS from Crescent takes 2-5 days, longer if the parcel gets held up in your country's customs office, though.

When you click "confirm shipment", nothing happens at that point - Crescent's staff will have to pack and weigh your parcel before they can give you the shipping cost. There is no way to change the items that go into the parcel once you click the confirm button, though.

I can't help with the first question, sorry!

    52. Ahh. So then later they give you a quote and you click on and pay button thing and then it's sent after you confirm payment?

You defiantly answered my biggest question. Thank you!

    53. I recently won an auction with CJapan. Was wondering, how long does it normally take for this payment button to appear on your account? Its been two days and I'm starting to panic. I am checking every day.

    54. I wouldn't worry too much, sylvian. Delays are normal. I've had payment buttons come in a few days late too, they might just be having trouble getting in touch with the sellers. It'll likely come up soon.

    55. Hello!

This is my first time buying something from Yahoo Japan and using a shopping service.

I've already put a deposit so I can bid but every time I try to enter an amount to bid I get this popup. What am I doing wrong? I'm really confused

      All help is greatly appreciated.
I need help asap since this ends tomorrow.

    56. As silly as it is, have you tried entering the bid amount without using the comma? So just 7000 straight?

    57. OH MY GOD!
      That was it!

      I feel so totally stupid ;_;

      Thank you soooo much <3

    58. Lol, I'm glad that did the trick. No need to feel dumb, you would think it would recognize it. <3 Hope you win!

    59. In some places, I think the comma is like a decimal point, and in other places it's not, so the system maybe just disallowed the use of it in order to reduce confusion about bid amounts. Good luck MVIII!

    60. That's the "Your bid must be higher than the last bid"-message. Glad you solved it in time!
