I open this topic to talk about Creatures dolls mini dolls. For the moment there is only one doll at this size, BACTRO. Website http://mewiefish.free.fr/ Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/mewiefish/ Facebook Creatures Dolls on Facebook So please let talk about Bactro and post a lot of pictures!
So now I can show you my two lovely Bactros. I am very ucky because last year, during the ldoll3 I adopted 2 cute bactros. A blank white one and the green one painted by Mewiefish. The first one is Louise. Painted and dressed by the artist. The second one is Devî my indian godess. She steel in progress but I love her so much. They both are very posable and they also are realy charismatic. They can wear some msd pants, dress or skirt. Thank you for wathcing!
I just love love love her dolls, they are so unique and detailed! I wish I had the chance to attend ldoll to see her dolls... How tall is Bactro? And how tall is Feldspath in comparison?
I think that bactro is around 40cm maybe it is as tall as a minifee. Ambroise is around 18cm and feldspathe must be around 8cm ... or something like that. I will post some comparaison pictures.
Oh my, your bactros are gorgeous! Devi was at Mewie's stand at Ldoll this year, wasn't she? I remember seeing her and wondering who owner her. Lil Spark, I measured my Bactro and she is 38,5cm. Ambroise is 20cm exactly, but I don't have a Feldspathe, so I can't give you her height. She is tiny compared to Bactro, though.
Thank you winona! And plese post pictures of your bactro too! And yes it was my bactro at the ldoll this year, i bring her back to allow people to see bactros
I hope there will be another pre-order for Bactro! I really hope to own one someday! I didn't have the money the first time around (not that things are better now...)
I know someone who inquired about owning one of these beauties and they got a reply that they will no longer be made as Mewie is on to other things now.
I love Bactro! I fell in love with her as soon as Mewie started posting the early stage WIP photos. So much love. And so much sadness that she will no longer be making them. Seriously, shattered heart. So congrats on owning not one but awesomely wonderful dolls! 8D Really like the way you're customizing the second one!
So lovely those Bactro ^^ I love them all but I prefer the blue one !!! I hope I could be able to got one in the futur
I love MewieFish's dolls so much. I wish I could afford one. They are so unique and have their own beauty. She does an awesome job on their faceups and body blushing too. I love seeing other people's pictures of them. Quells my need for one a bit, haha.
Wow, How on Earth did I forget to post my Beautiful Bactro here? I Adore Her Mewie Thank YoU! Bactro by Mewie Fish by DollZWize, on Flickr
the bactro are absolutely incredible dolls, they pose beautifully. their strangeness is fascinating, like all creations of mewifish.
Oh gosh, she's beautiful takuya_angel! Court_baker - I'm pretty sure Bactro is a frog. Well, she looks that way to me.
Yes i also think they are realy close to frog This one is no longer mine but i got a green one. But something tell me tjat you will soon see her again here
I was able to get my Bactro into some 7-8" wigs. Her head's closer to the 8" range, though - some of the 7-8" wigs were too small, some were just snug, but the 8-9" wigs were too big. Her head shape isn't like a human doll, though, so it makes it a little more difficult to find a wig that sits properly. I had some wigs that fit, but just didn't sit right. This is a 7-8" For My Doll wig and it had enough stretch to work pretty well, though it was still snug: Seonag by DoctorFomite, on Flickr It's been a while since I fiddled with eyes, but I believe my conclusion was that 20mm would be best. I have a bunch of 18mm eyes, and as I recall, they could leave just a bit of gapping. Her eyewells are also shallow, so eyes with high domes really didn't work well. I had been considering hunting down some silicone eyes for my girl, but never got around to it, as the glass eyes she came with suit her. (I bought her secondhand, so I'm not sure if they were default, or something the seller picked out.)
Malaryush: Thank you for telling me the sizing for her wigs and eyes! She sounds like such an interested size and I can't wait to see her in person! For clothes, do you find she fits yosd tops and msd bottoms? I ask cuz I noticed she is kinda smaller looking than a minifee in to bust/torso.
In the above picture, she's wearing a MSD-size dress from Alice's Collections, but it had to be pinned in the back and it was still baggy. My girl usually wears a corset from Raouken, which I believe I was told was the size for the Cerisedolls classic body. It's an excellent fit for her. Based on that, I expect you're right - Yo-size tops might work and MSD-size bottoms. However, I've never actually tried any Yo-size tops on her because of her arms & hands - the hands are so big, you'd have to take them off to put her in anything that isn't sleeveless. It was a tight fit getting them through the straps on that white dress.
I just received my Bactro today and wanted to share her box opening. Pics here: https://flickr.com/photos/127165969@N03/sets/72157651754786650
Oh she's gorgeous Dreadfulme! I agree with you april, I do wish Mewie Fish would re-release Bactro, but I think she's said that she won't be making any more.
Thank you Quiet and Insane! I put her official bo thread up today: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...ish-Bactro!!-**-blue-skin-**?highlight=bactro Bactro, my love!! by N Montgomery, on Flickr
I really like this doll. I normally don't like non human dolls (if that's what you'd call them) but this doll is pretty cool looking! Love your little indian girl! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Dreadfulme I really love your Bactro! She looks great. Hope you post lots of pics of her
Wow, so gorgeous! I love the teal and rust! Also the art yarn hair. Pretty neat! I'm a spinner, so I could totally make something like this too... I'm still figuring out wig making though lol I have been looking for a Bactro for a little while... I agree, not enough of them in the world!
Wow some Awesome Bactro's here - LoVe that gorgeous unique Faceup on Mlauuddiia - what does her name mean? Echo that Marjie - Definitely Need more Bactro's in the world!
Thanks everyone :-) I'm happy you like Mlauddiia! @Dollwize --- Her name doesn't mean anything in particular. I made it up ~ I wanted it to sound like you are under water when saying it and I was dying to have "mauve" someone in it as it is one of my favorite colors and one she will wear often
I wanted to ask some questions of Bactro owners as I recently purchased one and it seems like I overpaid. How is their ability to stand? I cannot get mine to stand properly at all it is as if one leg is significantly longer than the other and either kicks out to the side or foward at the knee. I found out after I got mine that due to it having severe uneven yellowing (also undisclosed) that there has been a lot of sanding done to the legs of the doll and I'm wondering if that may have affected it's ability to stand normally or if that is just how they are. The other thing I wanted to ask is for those of you who have owned the green Bactro's how has their colour held up over time? mone is a sort of very washed out olive green but I can't find any owner pictures that look at all like a similar colour.
I'm not sure if it's possible to over-pay for a Bactro since they aren't on the marketplace often... I don't own one, so can't speak to the leg problem or the color. But resin tends to yellow, so that would mean that greens would get more yellowy green over time.
Yes I understand resin yellows, I have several very yellowed dolls I am just a bit concerned because none of the owner pictures I can find online of the bactro's look even close to the same colour it's very odd that mine would be the only one to fade/ yellow to this random olive green colour....I just can't work it out so much about the one I have seems off.
