15 years in the hobby and I think this is my first project journal for an actual doll! I am hoping making this will keep keep me a little more on task about bringing this girl to life! Aodnait (pronounced Ee-nat) is my burnt faun and will be another version of my Fairyland Minifee Dina, Aylin. Screenshot_20250409_083006_Gallery by Lisel Rodriguez, on Flickr This is Aylin. She is a little bit shy, but she is the spirit of her forest. She tends it and its creatures in relative peace. Ultimately she is the forest and the forest is her. Tragedy befalls her forest, careless humans wind up setting it ablaze and everything is destroyed. Aylin, badly injured, in agony, and raging becomes the burnt faun, Aodnait. She grows vengeful and will hunt down anyone who dares step on her lands. All is not lost, though. Even a burnt forest will eventually begin to grow again. As it grows, she will heal and perhaps Aylin may show her face again. This is the basic concept I have for her. Aylin is mostly finished, she just needs some accessories. But Aodnait has not yet begun. Below are some of my concept sketches for her. Please pardon the cell phone pics, I no longer have a scanner, so I can't get clean scans at this time. 20250409_080306 by Lisel Rodriguez, on Flickr 20250409_080514 by Lisel Rodriguez, on Flickr 20250409_080629 by Lisel Rodriguez, on Flickr+
First things first, I should map out my plans! Head sculpt: Minifee Ciel Therian in white skin (obtained) Face-up: Paulianne if I can get a slot this summer Body: Fairyline girl body, large bust in white skin (still need to buy), Altis faun legs (obtained) To do: - Dye the altis legs and arms in a black to gray gradient. - Body blushing - Send her for faceup with Paulianne - Sculpt her crown of broken branches - (possibly) figure out how to sculpt the vine "armor." - Buy her eyes, probably Ashuradark eyes, black sclera with fiery pupils - Decide whether she will be dressed and how, commission outfit.
Thank you! I had a dream of this look (though it was on a different doll lol) and it just won't get out of my head. She's been so much fun to sketch, too! I can't wait to try and put her together.
Oh your concept art is seriously gorgeous for this project, those are mesmerizing sketches! I can’t wait to see updates on this girl, this whole project looks amazing.
