OT/General Crazy doll body

Apr 16, 2011

    1. Hmmm...interesting. However, she really needs some skin...Looks like somebody lacking the top layer.

    2. I love her. I want to get this type of movement with my dolls body, but I just can't bring myself to give up his statuesque form.
I don't like the super smooth and shiny resin she's cast in, I wonder if that would be her standard look....maybe super smooth to facilitate all that movement?

    3. would be nicer with a silicon skin over it.
      interesting design

    4. I think it's pretty awesome. Would make a great Alita...want.

    5. amazing, thanks for posting the link, some interesting ideas in that

    6. She's not resin, I don't think but it would be nicer if she both had a smoother silhouette and a nicer material. I keep looking back at this thinking that there must be a way to use some of the joints here on bjds. If she had a silicone skin, of course it would hide the joints but then againyou could just get those pure silicone dolls that volks make (I think it's volks...) Interesting though ^^'

    7. I know it's a product, and probably those who buy it would have the doll wear a skintight bodysuit to cover the joints. It's interesting from an artistic point of view and I agree that one could take ideas away from it to use in our ball jointed dolls.

    8. As a human, tbh she really creeps me out ><. I don't know why but I have this reaction to other extreme jointed dolls too. But, as he mentioned on the page, if you consider her a robot then I think she's totally awesome and I'd love to have one in a metallic color...would prefer a male doll, or less boobage though. The jointing is unbelievable. A lot of the joints are hinge based (I think, lol it's hard to tell) so that's tougher to convert to ball and string for inspiration.

    9. Yeah I remember seeing her on his page and thought she was really cool. I feel she's more likely to appeal to the anime action figure type's. I'd love to put her into a Motoko Kusanagi body suit and have her pose.

    10. I'd prefer a smaller bust but I really love how this looks. xD She's make an amazing cyborg/robot.

    11. She comes as a garage kit, the kit seems to come with elastic string. (I have to get the link from my husband, but...) The artists blog says that it took him one year to design the arm and three to finish the whole body, it also says he's working on a male. =D
I wonder what these weigh, the crouches she can do are amazing, and it's not just the company photos, owners photos have just as many cool poses, but my husband and I haven't found any pictures of her dressed...?
(I forgot to have my husband send me the links we were browsing yesterday, I'll get them and post later. =P )

    12. LOL, Okay sorry, I forgot for a bit there, but I did find it. it's actually his blog. :XD

      http://sfbt.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/

He's making another girl body for sale too. I kinda want one of these.... they just pose so well. :XD

    13. Fuwaaa.... I want one too. *_* Any idea where to get them, or were they limited and thus we must hunt on ebay and Y!J?

    14. Not limited really, but he does ordering periods and he basically sells in Japan only...sort of. From what I gathered he'll sell international but the ordering process is all through him no Ebay.... But I guess you might get lucky and find a second hand one. =T

    15. Oh, how cool, there's a link in the left side of the blog "photo book", there are pictures of the male body in there. :p It looks like the girl body without breasts.... a little twiggy for my taste, but still pretty cool. :D

    16. She would make an incredible android doll with a nice metal finish and some wire and screw details. Absolutely love the design, and whilst she looks distinctly robotic I think this could be enhanced to make a stunning doll!

    17. I've got a few friends teaching english in japan right now... i'm going to have to see if one of them can snag one for me. XD

where do you see the link to the male version? I can't find one.

    18. Hm, I do think a skin layer would be nice but then we will miss out those awesome joints. I think it is about posability vs beauty again. Not really my type buut she is totally awesome! I agree that if she is in a metallic colour she will be totally great! Good luck guys on getting her. Can't wait to see owner pics.

    19. I have to agree with Ophexis on the breasts being too big. I also think that she needs a skin layer. I just would rather not see all those joints.

    20. I'd love to see more pics of the boy body too, if anyone can find them. Gotta say, I'd rather have a boy than a girl!

    21. I want that doll so much! Putting my name down on the waiting list for one as soon as it opens.

EDIT - Apparently, the website they're sold on is an "unsafe connection" so my browser won't let me at it. Anyone else having that problem?

    22. So cool! This body would be great if someone wanted to make Angelic Layer angels! It would be awesome for the fighting poses :))

    23. On the left of the blog there's a link to a bunch of photos "photo book". The pictures aren't specifically of one type of doll, they're kind of more like owners photos, the boy doll/dolls make a few appearances. They look very similar to the girl, a bit taller, no breasts... and the feet look a little bigger. I guess it's not as easy to spot him as I thought. :P

    24. http://www.oscf.net/viewtopic.php?t=1730 OAO It's a monster! -shot- I was actually planning on making a 1/3 male doll with the same concept of fluid realistically-muscled movement. (I called it Flex Ultimatum). Now, I wonder if I should even attempt that since she looks so darn weird... and hard to engineer! The maker did solve a lot of pivoting problems I have back when I was making a small prototype forearm. I remember another Japanese sculptor (I remember him wearing a kimono over his skinny frame) who made an overly jointed doll before--not sure if he is still making them.

But still, these are pretty awesome and might translate well enough as bjd(but you get rid of the balls) when using smooth sliding parts like Hanano. I think I should get the engineer for transformers and manufacturer from Japan to make that. TuT ahihihihi

    25. Perhaps if you put some clothes on the doll it would be all right, but honestly who needs a doll that can pose that much? Personally I agree that she needs a skin cover, because right now she looks like a cadaver who's been skinned partial to show the muscle underneath.

    26. My first thought was Ugaleeee! Then I looked at the other pictures and thought WOW! She would make a wicked model for an artist. The thought of a body suit came next and after due consideration, I thought this is pretty cool. Cloudedmind and I seem to agree. If I had the coin, I think I would get her.
