Eve and Adam went to the seaside at sunset. It was very windy, their hair just wouldn’t stay in place. I tried taking photos of them holding a crystal ball and sunset reflecting in the ball. Unfortunately I couldn’t get myself in a position to get the sunset in the ball. I’m very impressed how well they both did hold the ball. THEY didn’t drop the ball, I did. Luckily not a long fall and the ball is safe. Wonderful holiday impressions I am impressed by how firmly the wigs fit. But please be careful with this kind of adventure. Stones, wind and resin is not always the best combination. I've had some negative experiences with abrasions on the resin skin. Thanks for sharing
Oh, thank you! The wigs have transparent elastic under the chin. The kind that is used for bead bracelets. Sometimes it goes too deep under the chin but I pull it out. So far hasn’t broken. Yeah. I know already. But decided I just do the face ups and blushing again if it gets bad. I’m extra careful though because have had sht happen to myself too. And today went on a walk on a port pier, took the dolls, but didn’t even unpack them, simply no safe place to put them. Plenty safe for a human but nothing for a doll. So I dragged them all that way for nothing at all. Got beautiful photos without dolls.
Wow—they don't stand out in the photos! Clever solution. I use handmade silicone caps from France. For me, they're a sufficient solution to prevent wigs from slipping and falling off. And damaged faces - good if you designed them yourself. More than annoying if you have acquired special faces. But even seemingly safe photo spots can be fatal. Recently my Xaga Doll Elsiee fell forward while standing on an asphalt road. The consequences for me have been so unthinkable so far. The tip of the nose is scraped, two fingers of the right hand are broken and the strangest thing is that the upper torso is torn between the chest and the neck. In retrospect, I noticed that the Chinese had constructed the resin there very thinly. Despite such accidents, I will continue to go out into nature with my resin favorites. It's simply too enticing to compose images outdoors. I wish you more luck with the weather during the rest of your holiday
@JL_The_Lion Those elastics are very thin, 0,7 mm and transparent, I can’t see them even when I want to adjust them, I simply know they are there and grab. They go from behind the ear under the chin. Yes, I also have the caps, not handmade though. For traveling dolls I want extra safety. Less work for me catching wigs. The same as for standing. I know they can stand on their own, tried, they did. But tried the same as when a baby learns to stand for the first time, mom ready to catch. For photos I am very careful to put them stable. Outdoors photos was one of the main reasons I got my dolls. That’ s quite a damage your doll had. Could you repair her?
Yes - I glued the fractures and tried to visually reconstruct the nose with spot repair. But as is always the case with such places, I constantly look at it and so it stands out... I will give Sabrina (so named Elsiee) a new face. The tear in the upper torso up to the level of the larynx is visible even after gluing. This only helps with additional treatment with paint. But I wonder if the effort is worth it. Will the bond hold, or will it break because the material is so thin. Maybe I'll try to reproduce the body part. I definitely want to keep Sabrina alive. She has the body measurements of a Smart Doll and thus a wide variety of clothing :-) For me, BJDs brought me into nature. Going outside and studying the natural habitat, enjoying it, and doing more with the camera. Thanks for asking
That's some wind! I love the way they look leaning against the rocks in the second to last picture, just a very natural pose!
It looks like the wind would not cooperate, but you chose an absolutely beautiful setting!! What a gorgeous place.
Thank you! Yes, Granado poses so naturally, I don’t have to do much, he does it himself. Thank you! I love that place, it’ s Fehmarn island in Germany. Very beautiful.
