50–65cm Dolls Coral Reef—Unicorn Beetle

I'm here with another unboxing! Technically she arrived on June third, but I haven't gotten around to posting until now.

I ordered Unicorn Beetle directly from Coral Reef, I'm very grateful that they allowed me to order her even though she wasn't being officially advertised as on sale anywhere! I got her in normal pink skin and I decided to get her on the human body instead of the beetle body, which means I didn't get any of the extra wing pieces or anything like that.

I got her with a faceup but no body blushing, with her full outfit, and without the official wig. I do wish I had gotten the body blushing (and maybe the wig), but I really wasn't able to afford it at the time and probably still can't lol.

Here's the box! Both bigger and smaller than I expected (my first 1/3 doll).



I opened the box! I'm relieved that she wasn't broken or scratched at all because honestly, she wasn't packaged very securely. She had foam around her hands and feet, but the rest of her was just in a plastic bag. Her head was secured in foam and a face protector.

She also came with her official eyes, which I don't remember purchasing, unless they're included in the faceup! That was a pleasant surprise.



Here's her head! Her eyelashes were NOT secure and began to peel off as soon as I started installing eyes. They never came completely detached, I've reinforced parts of them with glue but I feel like they might still be a bit delicate.



Then I dressed her up and tried on a couple different wigs I had for her. The blonde one was way too big, though it looks decent in photos, and the red is too small but barely stretches to also look decent in photos. I also had another pair of eyes that I tried for her.

Her clothes were extremely difficult to get on—mostly the shorts and leotard. They barely fit over her hips and I was terrified that I was going to rip them. It took a while and some brave tugging, but they eventually got on without too much issue.

Overall, I'm really happy with her. The body, as other reviewers have mentioned, stands very well even with a large variety of bent leg poses. She really is a work of art.

I'm not entirely sold that she was worth the amount of money I spent on her, but that's a very personal evaluation that only each individual can make. I hope that I get a lot of love and enjoyment from her over time.

Very appreciated insight! I believe she was the chest size B, the middle option. I really liked Beetle's orange toned blushing in the promo pics, so I may someday try to mimic that. I still have yet to try any kind of painting/blushing on a doll.

I don't have many accessories for 1/3 size and I don't intend to go crazy, most of my budget is for smaller dolls. But if I take more pics with her I'll try to post them here sometime

Glad to know that Coral Reef is one of my favorite companies right now. I'm obsessed with their clothes, wish they sold more!

I haven't taken it off yet, mostly because I don't have any other clothes for her anyways, I'm not planning on making any anytime soon, and I like it a lot. I'm sure I'll be able to get it off again, it does seem quite sturdy with all the pulling I've put it through. My main concern is the ribbon that ties around the back and where it's attached to the bodice, but that's an easy fix/replacement if it breaks.
