Jul 3, 2006

    1. well done cookie :)
it's lovely to see her finished and the air bubble problem sorted !
      such a cutiepie.
      congrats

    2. Looks great!

    3. I'm so impressed! It's fascinating to see your progress and the beautiful final result.

    4. :aheartbea wow...what a beautiful girl...her little chubby cheeks are just adorable!!! you must be so proud of your achievement!!!

    5. WOW¡¡¡¡ Finally Coppelia is finished¡ She´s really a beauty,congratulations¡¡¡

I love how she looks now with makeup and blushing, her round and red cheeks look like apples, she´s sooo cute

I want to see more pics, please¡¡¡

    6. I couldn't get a photo of the tiny bubbles, though to it seems most of them were under the surface, and only came up when I was sanding. My molds were a bit messy, so some parts had HUGE seam lines, and the tiny bubbles came up where I did a lot of major sanding. the good thing is you can't see them at all unless you are up very very close.

Smooth On is the resin I used to use the most for my other projects, I love it!

I tried with the white smooth on, but mixed the pigment with the wrong part, and I don't think the alumilite pigment is compatable with the smooth on resin, so that turned out a disaster. But in other projects I've worked on with have all been great.

    7. Thanks so much! I don't know that it's so much a case of talent, but perseverance!

    8. She's so adorable! I'm very impressed- you've done a wonderful job!

    9. Wow!! I can't believe you've never seen a BJD in real life. You did such an amazing job with her!
      Congratulations. ^^

    10. I'm glad you think so! i really wanted to make a loli doll, so far i just finished her first outfit, now she's better dressed than me :(

:) I'm glad you think so! I really wanted to make a cute girl, so it had to be chubby cheeks!

Thanks. There were so many great dolls being made on here that inspired me to give it a go, I hoped my girl might be able to put a little inspiration back. How is your doll coming on?

      Thanks Wolfie pie!!!!!

Thanks so much! When i was going through the "should I, shouldn't I?" phase, I saw your thread about making Matilda, and she sealed the deal for me, so i'm so happy you think Coppelia is cute :)

Haha yeah she really does doesn't she?

Yeah I was so relived! She still has one under the wig, but I figured no one would see that ;) I'm going to use the super bubbly no face cast as a base for my 2nd doll head I think!

      yay thank you!!!!

I was just looking back at the old posts a bit ago, I could hardly believe she came out of the early stages!

:) thanks, I was so happy when she was finished, today I finally dressed her properly and now I feel so happy!

Yup it sure took long enough huh? I'll have some gallery photos this week, I can't wait to show her off properly.

Thanks, I'm so glad you think so!

Thanks! I can't help but wonder what she will look like next to a regular BJD, I hope she is still able to hold her own...

    11. Thank you for your reply!
Good to hear that smooth-on works~hahah~just because the shipping if too expansive~I'll be careful while mixing dyes in it.
      Also Alumilite sounds great!
I have bought the resin and making molds these days~=w=
Thank you again for you help~

    12. so pretty! Thats amazing, i couldn't sculpt my own.

    13. She so great! You've done amazing job :D I hope to cast mine one day, though it's still a long way ahead. This is giving me hope to continue ^^ I'd love to see more pics of her.

    14. Wow that's amazing I'm soo hoping to learn to make dolls someday *o* I've had experience with sculpting but rarely did human forms or at least detailed ones. Your project is certainly inspirational :D

    15. Oh wow, she's really good! lovely outfit ^-^

    16. wow she's phenomenal! :D

    17. No problem! Your sculpts are so amazing i can't wait to see them cast!

    18. You never know! You might be surprised how good your doll could turn out!

OOOooo Good luck with your doll! I hope you can get to casting (the fun bit!) soon!!

I added a better photo of her now completed outfit back on Pg 5, I'll have some more later when I get working on her next dress ;)

Sculpting is fun, since you already have experience it probably wouldn't be too hard, I'd love to see what you came up with!

:) Thank you! I actually have the same outfit for myself (people fashion designer) we went out on Christmas eve in matching clothes!

I'm so glad you think so! Every one here has been so kind!

    19. She's beautiful! amazing! Great sculpted! And I think it is not easy to cast it! Fantastic job!!!! Congratulation!!!!

    20. It's really neat to see the process of making her from start to finish. Did you use a lot of refrence photos of bjds?

      Very cool work, congratulations~

I would love to see any other dolls you happen to make. <3

    23. Wow, she really came together wonderfully!! You did a great job :D

    24. her overall apperance is nice ,maybe the body is to small bo in clothes I don't think you can guess that she is custom made

    25. you did a great job. she's great ^___^

    26. It's amazing to me to think you did so well not even having seen a BJD close-up. She is lovely and beautifully dressed - wonderful job!
      Becca Alice

    27. :o She's...oh my... :D Congratulations! :D Can't believe you had never touched a bjd before! :D And you made the outfits as well (I love them, very delicate!) ?! :D

    28. Oh it makes me sooo anxious to finish my girl now! I hope she comes out as nice as yours. -_- right now she still looks kinda phunky.

    29. You are truly talented. She is lovely, and its been great reading about her being 'born' :)

    30. She's gorgeous! She has a really angelic and innocent look about her.

    31. She's adorable in her EGL outfit. You did a phenomenal job with her.

Now that you have her done are you considering creating different heads?

    32. zoi_no_miko:I looked at a good few photos, mostly to get an idea of joints, and the kind of posabilty expectations I should be working towards. The hardest things to find was poses of a torso joint in action!

mybluecat: Thanks! I'm building a website for her and future dolls, so I should have a lot more (and better) photos pretty soon.

Ri-Ri:Thanks!!! I have plans to make her an Oshare fashion sister, she'll be cute, but much sassier and more colorful than little Coppelia.

fireflytranc:I'm glad you think so! After a few disasters I was all set to pack it in and give up. I'm so glad I didn't now.

      akaioni:
Thanks, I was hoping the end product wouldn't look too home made (though in person you can tell) the dress top is a little big, but I kinda like the drowning in fabric look, I thought it adds to the over decorated Victorian look.

puchiqa: Thank you! Did you make the doll in your icon? it looks cute!

      bekka_alice
: She'll be happy to know you think she's well dressed! I'm so happy you like her.

      Pocket
:Thanks! I love sewing for her, even have her next outfit all picked out!

      TatsuKitty
: I'm sure your doll will look great! I think they all start out a little odd looking at first, I can't wait to see your finished photos!!!

Sue: I'm glad you liked the thread. I started writing it all out the other day for a website. It's hard to believe she looked the way she did to start with!

artemiselani: That was how I had hoped she would looks, so it's so nice to hear you say that, thank you!

ArcaneMuse: You bet! I'm making a sassy Oshare girl next. She'll be all bright colors and crazy fashions! It took so long making the molds for the body that I had to do at least one more. (but to be honest I doubt I'll be able to stop there)

    33. lolipop: yes ^^ it was my first BJDoll, Octarin :)
