Conarium Discussion Thread part 1

Aug 18, 2019

    1. @Snowy Would you be willing to take a picture of your Litian with a 12mm eye? I finally ordered my boy a few weeks ago and I've been all over the place trying to make a decision. One eye should not be this challenging.

      • x 1
    2. @Annarchy XD I'm laughing so hard right now, cause ... a) yes, one eye SHOULD NOT make this challenging b) I got some eyes yesterday and one of them is a 12mm I put into Litian and found it perfect. I DID take a pic, but it's crappy, so I didn't load it up. Now I do have a motivation to take a proper pic in proper lighting later today, that I will happily share with you ;)

Also: CONGRATS on your order ^^ Looking forward to seeing him :D
Any plans for his design/style yet?

    3. @Snowy Would you mind sharing the pattern that fits Wuhan (one of your traditional clothes)? Want to try and experiment a bit...:wiggle:abow:

    4. @Snowy I know right? Why are some dolls so difficult? I would appreciate even a crappy pic- at this point anything would help me!

I can't wait for him to get home. I wish he was more popular but at least I'll have my own to enjoy soon enough. Since I'm apparently a hybrid junkie I'm actually planning on putting his head on my Dream Valley dragon body (minus the dragon feet.) If I can get the patterns figured out (wings make everything harder) he's going to have vaguely Renaissance styled clothes. Everything about this boy is turning into a challenge but I'm so excited for him!

    5. @Annarchy Because they are special and need to be perfect, making us 1000% more picky.
Here are two pics of Litian with a 12mm sized eye, normal iris size:
      Login • Instagram

Conarium generally isn't to well known at this point. They are still pretty new and haven't made their stand in the hobby yet due to lack of owner (pics) and their special size I believe, making them harder to cloth.

They are totally worth it thought :)
Once you have one, you undoubtedly want more -^3^-

Oooh! Nice. I have Grayson (dragon version) myself and think that's a cool idea. Can see it work out :D
Just make him normal clothes with a hole at the back and make the collar 'tie-able' or with pressure buttons :3 Or hooks and eyelets. Anything works :3 That way you don't have to worry about the wings too much~
Renaissance sounds cool. Combine it with dragons and you got me hooked XD
He's sure to sweep you off your feet!

    6. @Snowy Thank you so much!!! That really helps out. His promo pics are nice but they're so dark it's hard to see what's going on in his eye area. This narrows the field a bit (down to maybe a dozen options instead of let's-not-count-that-high) One last question- would a 14mm eye a) fit and b)take up the whole opening?

Your picture really brought out just how pretty his face sculpt is too. I don't think I properly appreciated how serene he looks. And his lips! He's going to be fun to paint. I really like a couple of their other sculpts too so I'm not ruling out adding someone else later down the line!

I definitely think his shirt and jacket will have to pull up and close above his wings. He's going to be either some sort of demon or dark fae (hence the wings but not the other dragon parts- another doll stole those) so I just feel like he needs to be very well dressed. Pretty boy deserves pretty things!

    7. @Annarchy Glad to help :)
And yes, I love his promo pics, but I luckily ALWAYS want to check out the blank sculpt. I think I might have passed on him if @Sadomina hadn't mentioned digging him, making me take another look and... Well. Blank I liked him a lot more and... it actually were his pointy ears that for some reason totally changed my perspective of him XD
A 14mm eye would fit, might gap at the top an bottom due curving of the eye. An oval shaped one or with a flat dom is definitly recommended in that case and if it has an normal sized iris, it would not fully show as a 'normal eye' would. I can take another picture later, if you want. I had some pretty 14mm lined up and decided against them, cause I like seeing the eye and part of the eye-white. I was even sceptical if the 12mm would fit my aesthetics, but that one I tried instantly worked out for me, so I didn't even try others. (definitly no smaller than 12mm is all I can recommend, or you will end up seeing the putty).

Ah, yes, he's really handsome and pretty. Hoping to get to do some face-upping done soon, but my Wuhan demanded I get working on his weapon first, and... I kinda followed that whim XD

Ooooh. I really li~~~~ke what I read. Be sure to show him off ;) I can't fully picture him yet, but I have a rough idea of what to expect and it really makes me excited <3

Meanwhile I'm plotting my Conarium asian cultivators and gods and not-quite-sure-what-they-are non-humans army XD

    8. @Dunpeald Oh I just noticed I kind of missed your post about the patterns.
I‘m not sure my .. ah... „patterns“ are according to the normal pattern standard but I‘ll try and take pics of them for you

Anyway here are the promised body posability pics.

      Girl body
      Login • Instagram

Boy body (the one where he is on one leg are advanced, take time, loads of patience and find tuning. The 2nd of them only held just long oung for the pic, then he tipped to the side already.)
      Login • Instagram

      Some conclusions:
Both bodies can’t pull their legs up to their chest and neither can they bend their legs even the slightest bit backwards.
The boy body feels a bit more ‚stable‘ and is less likely to twist his legs.
Both bodies are incapable of spreading their arms sideways in a perfect straight T due to the way their upper arm is crafted into ‚shoulder pads‘.
Ellbows and knees can bend all the way.
Their chest joints can bend forward and backwards smoothly to a certain degree (and largely hold any position without further help). At the most further position there is a little notch, holding them in position, that’s not visible even in use.
Their chest joints can also be rotated smoothly all around, but can not hold those positions on their own.
Ankle and wrists joints have an average rotation ability, but in case of the ankes I feel that the motion to lean the doll slightly forward (which I sometimes require to balance out the weight of eg hair or other items strapped to the back) is a bit to restricted. I might have to slightly mod the lower legs a little to give them a small slope to grant me the range I require.
Neck/head rotation ability is alright and among the usual. They hold pretty much whatever pose you leave the head in.

Additionally I‘d like to say, that yes, the hands can touch the face. But, you‘ll need tome patience and maybe some little aid to get them if you have a specific position in mind.

      End of rant xD
Congrats if you read all that to the end! You survived :p

    9. Wow! Thank you for taking time to explain it all! Love reading (about dolls in particular)). It does help a lot, actually!
I have bought some grey poplin and linen mix in three shades. possible will be targeting a shorter version of yukata and wide trousers.
Should you have a minute to craft for me and other members some basic patterns to work around, that would be great!!!
      Thank you!

    10. @Dunpeald No problem. I prefer to research most stuff before I commit to a purchase, so I try to describe everything that caught my attention.

That said, I DID forget something, concerning quality.
I have some airbubbles on the surface of a shoulderblade on one of the girls.
I also had a small breakage at the chest piece of Wuhan - I'm getting a replacement, but I have to pay for it.
Also, I face-upped some of the ladies and gentlemen today and I took notice of the shine on some heads again. Disappeared after the first layer of sealant, but I felt like I should point out, that right now there is a chance that the surface of your doll is a bit shiney. I think it has to due with temperature switching as it is right now, while the resin is curing.

On a side note, I feel like I should also mention that apparently the creator switches from faceplates to 'traditional' heads (so headplate with the head, rather than faceplate with headback), which personally I find a bit sad, as I rather grew fond of the faceplate system.

Ah, sounds like a traditional get-up ;) Love the japanese style as well and have some kimonos myself - thought more with the bigger ones.

I sent you a message on instagram. It's not print-ready (sorry about that), but I put the patterns on a scale that should help your reproduce it. Just a basic pattern for pants (which you can easily alter to be wieder, like hakama and if you know how, you can even include the fabric for those folds of a hakama) and a basic pattern for the robe, that you can alter to have a top and if you make it slightly bigger and don't add the 2cm in the middle, you can use it for a jacket too. Only thing missing is the collar, as I rarely make a pattern for that.

If anyone else wants it, I can upload it on IG or flickr and link towards it here.

      • x 1
    11. Thank you!!! Will try it out! I would say, post it in the patterns section in here, clueless people like me will come and cry for hints and tips and patterns)))
And thank you for the quality review, that is surely useful to know and not be upset in case something will go wrong.

    12. ... You realize just how much has changed on DoA when you first thought just now was "... We have a patterns section? ... Since when? Where?" and then you find it and are like *blinks* "Huh... There really is one..."

      XD Good to know.

Also you are very welcome :)

    13. I know I saw somewhere, at some point. But I've lost it. Can someone please tell me what eye size is recommended for the boys, I just ordered Wuhan and would like to endlessly browse eyes for him.

    14. Hey everyone, just made a brief wiki entry for Conarium based on what I've gathered from here. A resin comparison thread and Waitlist page are still due. Please edit as appropriate! /doawiki/index.php?title=Conarium

    15. @mxwutter The eye-size thing is probably the one from me.

      I wrote this before:
The 8mm have a slight gap, while the 10mm's iris might be a touch to big if you want to go for a more realistic style. 10mm with a small (4mm) iris would be best. I think 12mm with either 5mm or 4mm sized iris would also fit, as the space is there.

Still stand by that and here's a size reference pic (Wuhan head used as model):

    16. That's great info, thank you very much for that!

Interestingly, heard back from Clover Singing and they said 12-14mm is good. I wish there was an eye size kit of some sort, with super cheap eyes of different sizes, solely for figuring out the best fit.

    17. @mxwutter I like a semi-realistic look. 12mm would fit in most heads of Conarium, but the Wuhan head is smaller than than all the others.

      • x 1
    18. @Snowy It's very odd they don't mention the separate sizing for Wuhan. It's nice you measured them, so I won't be surprised when it comes :sweat but I would expect them to be upfront about these kinds of differences. Hmmm... maybe I can email them via my dealer once it arrives and show them it's different, so they update their pages. I'll order 2 different sizes of eyes and see how it goes.

    19. That's what the service person from the company said: 'he has a small pupil of 12mm'.
When ordering directly from their TaoBao shop, original eyes can be added for 100Y.
      I have asked about Wuhan.

I keep chatting with them on this and that, after all, their dolls are of unusual size so finding accessories is pain.

      • x 1
    20. Just ordered eyes following your suggestion: '10mm with a small (4mm) iris would be best' )) Will let you know when boy and eyes will arrive.

    21. @mxwutter In my personal experience (I'm also in the wholesale retailer thing, but entierly different kind of products) as a retailer you rely completly and utterly on the info given by the producer.
I do not see the actually delivered products myself most of the time, as the warehouse and storage is a different part of the company and I usually only have a reason to check in on articles if a customer gets back to us claiming something is wrong with the products (like color is off, or different kind of patterns and so on). Otherwise I trust in the data (and pics or samples) provided, as honestly the producer should know best. But despite that we too occassionally get the wrong kind of data (most of the time a copy-paste error or overwriting old data and forgetting to change stuff like sizing etc).

Especially in case of eyes for bjd you need to consider so many stuff. There is also no note anywhere that you should totally go for low dome eyes for example. :\

@Dunpeald Oh, that's cool that you can chat with them -^3^- Kinda would love to as well.

And congrats on finding eyes to order!

Looking forward to new owner pics.

      • x 1
    22. @Snowy Agreed, completely down to the manufacturer to mention these sort of things! I only mentioned Clover Singing since I have no idea how else to contact Conarium :huh?: And you can tell that same info is supplied to all dealers, as all of them have no eye size info, or the correct head size for poor Wuhan :sweat

Also just realised I bought eyes, but completely forgot to check if they are low-dome or not :nowords: Ah well, at least they're relatively cheap glass ones!

    23. Thanks. Bought eyes on Etsy, they do oval eyes small sizes. Hopefully will get Wuhan and eyes sometime in April and let you know.
Anyone can chat with artist on Weibo and client service people on Taobao, they are pretty open and speak English.

      • x 1
    24. @mxwutter I think the problem with the eye size is that everyone has a bit of a different kind of aesthetic, which is why I always like to look up pics or make pics, so one can see how it looks and decide for oneself what the prefered size is.
A lot company recommend 12-14 or even 16mm for most MSDs. I tend to need 8-12mm most of the time.

Ooooh, pic of the eyes? :3

      @Dunpeald *rolling the drumbs
Looking forward to what you come up with :D

That said, I don't really have weibo and browsing TB is hard for me (but making it work with a work-around and translation help). Gotta check if I can somehow find and chat with them. I'd rather like to let them know I really love their dolls directly ^^

That said, I'll actually be browsing TB later tonight. Might have to check for a new TB agent too, but I'm in no hurry at this point :3

    25. @Snowy Initially I had grand plans of figuring all the measurements out of the box and then buying the perfect expensive custom pair of resin eyes. Until I realised the sizing business is so subjective and it has too many variables, so I have to start cheap and work my way up. :chomp:

I don't have the eyes yet :XD:, but! I'll be very excited to share them once they arrive. I ordered them with a bunch of other stuff, some resin, so who knows how long they'll take. I even got a display bust from granado to make it easier to make my own wigs (pray for me I hear it's frustration station :ablink:).

@Dunpeald oooo I had no idea it was so easy to contact them! In my head it was much more obscure and... arcane, dare I say :chibi. I'll have to try it at some point.

    26. @mxwutter Crossing fingers for speedy and fast arrival AND lots of patience ont he wig making business ^^° That's one thing I tried and decided to leave to others ^^°

I pulled out one of my ladies again today, as I'm still expecting my last open order to be shipped soon and I'd like to prepare some clothing for her ahead. That said, I got side-tracked with a different doll I restyled also into these fantasy cultivators and .. now my Wuhan needs a new wig ^^° Or maybe the darker one I got incoming will fit him as well, so I gotta wait.
Also still waiting on the eyes I ordered ^^° At least things are starting to come in! Nearly all of my dolls now have wigs, clothes and shoes. :P

    27. Need to say, you are a star! I have tried the pattern that you have shared. Looks amazing! Now need to wait for the doll and see if it fits:mwahaha
Planning to do a set of tunica, pants and coat, done just coat and I loved it.
There is a holiday period in China (again), so no idea when they will send my Wuhan.

      • x 1
    28. @Dunpeald Aww... *squishes* crossing fingers he'll be there soon :3
Also really glad you could work with my pattern!

      And true holiday period again.
Kind of curious what the status on my last girl is as well. The other dolls were all so fast, but this one keeps me waiting.
And that even thought I've nearly finished her outfit and hair and eyes are in customs and should arrive until next weekend.

    29. Oh! How do New Clover Singing ships? Do they post it on order status on their website or send you an email? Do they give you a tracking number?
      Thank you!

      • x 1
    30. They send an email with a tracking number.

      • x 1
    31. @Dunpeald - both. XD Like Swampruler is saying. You get an e-mail with the tracking number and can also check on the webpage if you accidentally delete the mail :) They also add their recommended tracking webpage as a link :3

    32. @Snowy I've prepared my soul to just - wait, since the body is Dream Valley, so it will take aeons. I'm hoping maybe the practice head and some other stuff will arrive in the meantime to keep me busy. I'm too chicken to try anything on the main Conarium head before I get a chance to play around a bit. And who knows how long the bust will take, I haven't checked the waiting times on Granado yet. You can tell I'm very dedicated to the wig making potential project, if only because I know finding the wig I need will be impossible *_* So I don't really have a choice :sweat

    33. @mxwutter What waiting time does DV have right now? I think with fullset it was about 5-6 months last time I ordered (the red dragon boy -^3^-) and I totally feel you. Sometimes you just have to see the full thing before you get into anything :3

Granado used to be pretty on time with their shipping estimates on the webpage. Dunno how it's right now.
I wish you all the patience for your wig project. And you kinda have me curious of what kind of wig you want XD

Seeing how the Conariums have rather small heads, me wanting more classic old-style chinese wigs has been quite the task. Didn't expect to actually find something that works, but finally got lucky. Still gotta find 2-3 more (I want different styles) to equip everyone (also non-Conariums XD), but I got time...

    34. On a side note, I bring pics.
I got my 10mm eyes with 4mm iris and planted them into most of my Conariums.
Here are the various heads with 10/4 for reference (don't mind the tan lady - she's a Doll Family girl).

    35. @Snowy that's a very good eye size, looks very realistic <3

I'm making a custom Shikamaru... so need pineapple head hair :sweat plus I want 2 other versions with his hair down and wild, and one with a wet hair look. I'm painfully particular... :sigh which is why all my custom anythings take ages until they're finished.

I admire your speed and decisiveness :love

      • x 1
    36. @mxwutter yes, I think so too ^^ And the most evil thing is that the maker just updated her shop again and she got so many pretty colors *0*

Ooooh! Nicerino! What's the issue with going for a wig witout bangs, than styling it? I mean, i don't wanna discourage you from trying to make your own, quite the opposite :3 Just wondering.
Shika was one of my favourites along with Neiji and Gaara (both of who I cosplayed back then XD)

Hahaha thanks XD Personally I feel like everything takes forever right now, probably due to my limited free time as it's currently one of the peak times at work ^^° But it's a great feeling to finish a (planned) group. That I'm totally not considering expanding to some more dolls ^^° But. Now that the 'main' crew is done, I can get back to working on the background, furniture and props. I think XD

    37. @mxwutter

Here is that Wuhan-head on DV body pic I've been promising for a while XD
      Login • Instagram

If you swipe you also see it from the side. I have another full doll pic on my account, if you need.
Personally I think it's a great fit and from what I see the white colors should be close enough that they should work :)

    38. @Snowy Thanks a lot for taking the time for that photo. My fears have been quelled. The sizing is perfect!

That's why I went for white mostly - hoping to minimise any chance of things not matching.

Neji, Gaara and Shika I all have in nendoroid form :love our tastes seem to match very well :XD:

Re the wig, I have never even held one, so I just assumed I couldn't go too crazy with styling! I just assumed the default styling they come with is the one they have to keep. I'll still try my hand at a wig before jumping ship, but if it is indeed only a matter of styling... that may make my life easier :sweat

      • x 1
    39. @mxwutter No problem :D Just some beheading of innocent dolls involved ;P

Ahaha, the people with brains trio XD Yes, we seem to share our favs.

I think a lot of wigs are 'pre-styled' but unless it's styling is 'cemented' nothing that can't be worked with.
      Here's an example pic:

Except for the blue wig and the long, open hair of the blue clad tall one, all of the wigs were straight, open ones, that I carefully combed and changed the styling of.

      • x 1
    40. @Snowy your knowledge knows no bounds - I never thought of that! Honestly was under the impression those wigs had been styled like that from the beginning.

I really want one head to come through at least so I can start playing :nosebleed

    41. @mxwutter That's what nearly 10+ years in the hobby, the willingness to experiment, having done cosplay before and always wanting stuff that's not avaible does XD

And soon! (But I can totally relate! It was so much easier creating outfits for the boys with having one body already avaible for test-wearing :3)

      • x 1
    42. My Wuhan head came!!! :chibi I am beside myself with how beautiful he is!! I will post some pics once he at least has some eyes and hair. The empty eye sockets are... the most disturbing part :XD: But in the meantime, I'm trying my hand at making a wig. Frustration has definitely been the name of the game, but maybe it'll look - decent? We shall see.

For ref, I ordered him on 20 March 2021 via NewCloverSinging and he came 30 April 2021! Incredibly fast. Can't remember when he was dispatched to me, but I think it took about a week for it to arrive to the UK.

      • x 2
    43. @Snowy ok I just realised though - the head didn't come with a CoA? Or was the small bent flyer supposed to be the CoA? Do Conarium heads have CoAs?

    44. @mxwutter Wheeee!!!! Congrats on the arrival! He's really beautifully sculpted, isn't he?! -^3^-

Oh, that's actually a good question, I honestly wasn't paying that much attention. BUT I just went to check out my boxes and... EITHER the heads are listed with my 'full doll' certificates or they didn't get their own. I can't tell from the certificates, as they are filled out in chinesese and the one where I got doll and head looks to have more signs on it then the one I had with Yemei (she arrived last week, but due to work I didn't get to do much with her yet).

      Maybe ask newclover about it?
For my full dolls I definitly have postcard-sized Conarium Card with the logo on the front and a hand-filled-out 'birth' certificat.
She could reach out to the artist and see to get you one for the head. Might also help giving the artist awareness that yes, we want certificates for body and head even if we buy them separatedly. I'll also reach out to her tomorrow, as honestly I need help sorting out which cert goes with which doll ^^°°°

    45. @Snowy It seem the thing I thought was a flyer, was the CoA! I didn't notice the small chinese text and QR codes at the bottom. Since I only ordered a head, mine was bent in half to fit in the box :( That makes me a bit sad, as I would've liked to keep them all in good condition. Oh well, at least he has his own CoA!

They should definitely send separate ones for the body and the head, even when buying the whole thing. And maybe make them a tad smaller so the head ones won't get squished *_*

    46. @mxwutter There usually is only one certificate per item per order with any company. Some don't even have a cert if you only order a body. With heads and full dolls there usualyl should always been one. At least that's my experience so far.
But glad to see you got a cert after all ^^ Just carefully and slowly unbend them :D
      Are you face-upping yours already?

    49. I have a question I hope someone here can answer for me. I'm leaning rather heavily on purchasing the Suyu sculpt to be a character of mine. Problem is, that character requires hooved feet and that is not something I can change (I already have him in his child version, Impl Teno). I got the idea that it might be possible to put RS Ming hooved feet or possibly the hooves from an Impl deer-taur on a Conarium boy but I'd need to know the size of the ankle ball of the Conarium boy to know if this will work. Or, I could see if the RS Ming legs could be used in whole, which would be awesome. The Impl deer-taur legs wouldn't work as a whole as they're apparently designed for stability with 4 legs on the ground.

I have an RS Ming and a friend has an Impl deer-taur so getting the measurements of those parts is dead easy. For reference the Ming has the following leg joint measurements as measured with calipers:
Ankle ball at widest part: 2.4cm
      Hip ball: 3cm

Could someone measure the ankle ball and hip ball of their boy and let me know so I can decide if this is a pipe dream or not? I've mooned over the Suyu sculpt for quite some time and I'd love to be able to bring him home to be this character as I think the sculpt would work really well. Also he'd be in WS so is the Conarium WS paper white or some other flavour of white?

    50. @Iron_Dog Go for the whole legs! XD

I tried to get you those meassurements, but I only got a tape to work with, but overall I'd say it's looking good.

Hip ball circumference is 11cm, diameter seems to be between 3-3,5cm
Ankle circumference is 7 cm, diameter seems to be a bit over 2 cm (diameters measured from the front).

I'd go for the whole taur-legs and if you got space to spare: silicon kips and hotglue sueding!

Conarium WS in my experience is variating a bit but tends to go towards a light creamy shade.
It shows well on the pic I shared above your post. The girl on the very right and the guy sitting on the right are both ws, both ordered and received only a bit appart. The white fabric of the collar, wall or wig are a good indicator of how it would compare to paper white. Far as I'm aware RS white also tends to go for creamy? Only have a ws bobobie myself and that one's old/yellowed but also going for creamy :3

    51. @Snowy Thank you very much! I'm super excited to hear this and appreciate you taking the time to measure for me. My wallet... not so much. If there is only a difference of 0.5cm on the hip ball it would seem like the idea is a go. Hot glue sueding would likely be a good idea in general as my RS guys all have very slick/smooth resin. To be fair though, the Ming body I have does stand well on his own without anything being done to help him. However, he desperately needs to be re-strung now as his current elastic is RS original from 2012 and it may be well past it's prime.

This character, Kyrieleison, would be paired with Sameer, an ID51 Hyperon. I have a photo from somewhere (Insta?) that shows an SD Vito, DV boy, Conarium and possibly a Luts model Delf in a nekked line up. I have SD Vitos and a DV body with an SD Kid head so I think I have a decent approximation of how the Conarium will look with the ID51 based on the photo and what I have in-house. I'm flexible on the height difference between the two as well so it's not a make/break deal for me if the hybrid is shorter than the ID51. I can def live with the height difference that would happen if I swap legs as significant height differences between pairs is kind of a thing in my house.

I can't say for sure what that height difference will be with the RS Ming legs on the Conarium as the RS boy is a good bit shorter (44.5cm) than the Conarium. I just measured the legs of the Ming and they are 25cm from the top of the hip ball to the base of the hooves. Conarium measurements from CloverSinging and SPO say the legs are 26.5cm but I'm not sure where that measurement starts (actual leg length from hip ball or arbitrary point on the doll body?).

I also love the clothes for your crew. They're very much in style with what this proposed boy would wear. Did you make them or buy and if you bought, where? I make the majority of clothes for my boys but I'm not opposed to buying when I can find stuff in the right style for all their weird sizes.

I have an RS Bao in WS. He started out paper white but has since mellowed to a lovely creamy white. Him and his twin (in dark grey) have a little age on them as I bought them from RS in 2011 but I'd say they've aged well as far as mellowing goes. Most of my RS boys don't show any mellowing I can see but they're all darker colours (dark grey, dark tan, red) to begin with except for Vashin (WS) and Jolen (old blue mellowed to light turquoise). Most of the time this hybrid would be dressed so a little difference in colour wouldn't be a big deal to me but it's good to have a baseline to work with.

    52. @Iron_Dog
      Glad to be of help!
*glares at your wallet* Shut up, be good and cooperate, you heard the plan, make it happen!
Yes, RS has always been smooth ^^
I used to have a Ming my friend additionally glued and wired for me. He was great before, but with both of that he was a real blast.

XD that group pic wouldn't happen to be this one? (if so the last one is an IoS XD But I have a MDF as well)

Even if you were to loose a cm or 3 they'd still fit well togther, I think. Size difference is a normal thing after all :3 I think with the Conarium heads also on the smaller size side it should also go well with an ID51.

Just went over to my boys again. They meassure 25cm on the inside of the leg seam and around 28-29 from top of the ball, so you might loose a bit in height, but not much.

Thanks ^^ I made those myself, but you can look into hanfu from MDZS/Untamed and see if you can find some you like in 1/4. The anime and the real action TV show have given some fresh wind to these kind of clothes, so there are now plenty pretty ones from the show, as well as other ones :)
There are even some lovely ones on etsy and aliexpress these days, some even make custom size.

XD I was going to point out that you'll likely have him wear something around the hip, so if you go for the hybrid, a bit of difference at the beginning wouldn't even be noticable :P

    53. @Snowy The wallet is actually being reasonable. I had the unexpected opportunity to purchase the ID51 recently so I bought him because I'd missed his order period by 2 days and was kinda salty over that. Then, barely 2 weeks later, a friend bought a bunch of dolls from the estate of a friend and among those was a Sugarable Genie head on an Angelsdoll Massive body. I'd attempted to buy a Sugarable Genie back at the beginning of 2020 but it didn't happen so I was stunned and thrilled with this development. My wallet was not as I'd just blown all my dolly cash 2 weeks previously. Fortunately my friend was willing to trade one of my Hound heads with a gorgeous face-up by Barbelo and a little cash from me for him. He'll need a partner, too, but he's currently content to chill as a single dude in a house full of paired up guys.

Lol, yes that is the Insta pick so thanks for the unintentional additional help. Based on that pic, yes, I do think the head sizes will work well together. I tried putting my RS boy next to my ID51 and while the bodies work well together (likely due to the skinniness of the RS), the RS head was proportionately too large for my taste despite him taking a dead on 6 wig and the ID51 taking a 5/6 wig. That's one of the reasons I went to look at the Conarium boys again (like I don't periodically go moon over them anyway ).

Some of my other pairs have quite a bit of difference in height. Kulfi, Rhyia and Akusuo are 58cm and 68cm respectively so the top of Kulfi's head hits his husbands at about nipple level. Moswen and Kijika are 45cm and 57cm respectively. Thylian and Dakvir are 42cm and 46cm respectively. The largest difference is Fei-Lau, Sleet and Khale with Fei-Lau and Khale at 68cm and Sleet at 30cm. So yeah, some height difference is a whole lot of nothing to me. Especially since I haven't fleshed out all the details of Kyrieleison as an adult (like how tall he is).

I enjoyed the Untamed but I loved Word of Honour much more. I have noticed an uptick in the hanfu style for doll clothes and I'm glad to see that as so many of my guys from my Divine Worship world wear a style close to that. Again, the wallet isn't super happy about these new temptations but whatever.

    54. Hi there! New to Conarium dolls.
Would anyone be willing to take a pic of their boy's body in natural light? Most pics I've seen have them in high contrast light that accentuates their muscles, I understand the shiny resin doesn't help much either.

Also, does anyone know where I can find blank pics of Xuening?

    55. Hi I just found out about this company today! I actually really love 50cm male dolls and might buy a conarium single jointed torso body in the future. The character I have planned will be mostly half naked with intricate chest tattoos, so the single jointed torso could end up being perfect for it!
I might hybrid it with a Unoa Zest head

    56. 50cm boys are amazing posers and stand rock solid. It might be tough finding clothes for them though. Tattoos is a great idea! Would love to see your art on them.

    57. I have a good number of 50-ish cm boys from multiple companies (although no Conarium yet). They are difficult to find ready-made clothes that fit but if you're handy with sewing it won't pose much of a problem. They're much easier to lug around than the big dude of the +65cm range, too.

    58. I am fortunate that I know how to sew, and regularly make custom clothes for my Souldoll Vito. It almost takes just as long as finding the right store/style (if there ever was a store that sold 50cm clothes lol)

    59. Most of what my guys wear either doesn't exist period commercially or it doesn't exist in their size. Add in that I have a multitude of weird sized dolls and it's even harder to find ready-made clothes. The majority of my collection wear clothes inspired by ancient cultures (primarily Asian) but there's also a good number that wear clothes based on their species culture that I created. I have about 5 dolls that wear modern clothes and, funny enough, they're ones who fit most "standard" clothes for their sizes.
