"Complete" may not actually be the right term, because my dolls get their looks revamped every once in a while. Still, with Isamu finally getting a proper faceup and body, the four central characters in their collective story are all represented in doll form at last. -Left to right- Isamu: DF-H Takumi Kazama on 70cm Angell Studio male body Guórén: Granado Michael on Impldoll Idolman FGB Adhara (dormant ver.): Iplehouse Scarlet on Impldoll Starwoman MGB Okuni: Lulu by Momo Studio (guozimo72 on IG) Adhara Calls the Shots 2 by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr Adhara Calls the Shots by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr Isamu is actually my first male doll who isn't Guórén's son (they're either reluctant brothers-in-arms or honorary brothers-in-law depending on the storyline), so it opens up a multitude of new interactions. Never mind the fact that they tend to bicker a lot. Brothers-in-arms by Yela Gatchalian-David, on Flickr
Congratulations on completing the group! They're a very handsome set, how long did it take you? I'm looking forward to the day when I've completed my main set, but it can be a struggle to balance the urge to buy more dolls with getting everyone the perfect sculpt, face-up and outfit!
Thank you! Let me see, it took me around five years, give-or-take. And two of the dolls in the picture hardly have any clothes of their own (they're just borrowing from the others). I totally get that feeling, tho! There are so many dolls I'd love to have simply because they're pretty, but don't really fit what I've planned for the crew.
Congratulations! Five years is really a long time, and I've seen some of your posts here and there on the props and aesthetics. It is definitely a painstaking and impressive project! As someone who also has designs for dolls, yet is making zero progress recently, I am wondering what's your plan for the next stage. Are you going to set up a display for them and just leave it there, or are you going to shoot some stories in the future?
Oh, even though my four central characters are shelled, there is still so much to be done, prop- and costume-wise. ^_^ Like I said, "complete" is probably a misnomer because I periodically upgrade and revamp my dolls' looks, if the circumstances allow it. (In fact, if I see a sculpt that turns out to be better for a character, I would most likely reshell them.) I play with my dolls regularly, so it's definitely not the end of the road for me where the hobby is concerned!
Unfortunately, all that I have at the moment are detailed notes of the tabletop RPG they're featured in. ^_^ I'm still in the process of writing out their story in detail (hopefully for a serialized online release eventually).
They all look amazing! Congrats its hard to get dolls together in a basic sense much less get them to truly represent who they are.
