completely finished my OOAK balljointed doll ! She's got a complete new look! 10/6

Jun 29, 2008

    1. THank you, what an incredibly nice compliment !

    2. She looks perfect, especially with her costume. Congratulations!

    3. Congrats!She looks great!

    4. Really lovely. I just bought the Yoshida book myself and I'm totally motivated to try my hand at sculpting my own.

    5. the eyes don't look too off, it looks natural, and beautiful. I agree with what you said, the ears could be a tad bigger. Her face is really sweet , great work so far. :}

    6. The eyes were off in the first stages of sculpting, but have been altered in the further stages, so they are no longer off. The ears have been made bigger too.

    7. Gorgeous. She looks very real, and her eyes are like....:POW:
      Hahaha

No, but really. This is really amazing. And I'm glad you let us in on your moulding. I love watching the process, and seeing how people approach making their own!

    8. Thank you Tsuki for this wonderful reply !

    9. What an amazing result, I am in awe. Everything about her is perfect.

Her eyes and big, bright and beautiful. I think I fell in love, with another's doll for the second time here at DoA. :nosebleed

    10. Well, I took her to a dollshow in the beginning of August and everybody was talking about her big eyes, they all seemed to love the eyes, lol:)

    11. I have to agree with another poster-she looks way more like an old-fashioned bisque doll than an Asian Ball Jointed Doll. Perhaps you should enter her in a contest for that style-I think that if she were sold by a company, she would be found off-topic for this board. She is utterly lovely, though, and I would love to see you make a doll in the style of Asian ball jointed dolls.

    12. I wanted to give her an Asian style look, but somehow, during sculpting I got sidetracked. However, I plan on making another one and this one should be more in the style of the Asion ball jointed dolls.

    13. Amazing!
      Great job!!

    14. I think you are definitely in the right place! Especially in this forum where you are sharing your creation process! I'm so grateful for all the support and help you given to us, too.

    15. Thank you Keiko !

Thanks Simon Purple ! I did begin to wonder if I was in the right place because she no longer had that Asian touch. But I'm always willing to share my techniques and work in progress with every one. Besides, when I do so, people critique what I'm doing and it gives me the possibility to change the mistakes I have made. As someone rightfully pointed out in the beginning that the arms were too short. Somehow I hadn't seen it myself, too preoccupyed I think with getting the joints right, lol. But it gave me a chance to correct my mistakes.
Sharing and interacting with others makes your work a lot better, don't you think so ?

    16. Wow!! It was so fun going through this thread and seeing her come to life. You should be so proud. You did a wonderful job. What a cool doll!

    17. Thank you. I've put the whole work in progress together as a youtube video which you can watch here

    18. Well, another Dutch company has decided to import the premix clay I used for this bjd. They asked my permission to put my doll on the label. So here's how it looks. I'm really over the moon with this.

    20. Wow, congrats on such a cool thing happening for you and your special doll!

    21. I'm so impressed by the job you've done. Your doll is very pretty and it's no nice to follow the "construction" step by step.

    22. How totally awesome!

    23. Wow !! she turned out Beautiful , I had a look at your web site , OMG so much Talent you do Beautiful work; Thanks so much for sharing :)

    24. Way to go.... Congratulations!!

    25. It has been so lovely to follow your doll's story.... I agree with Miss_Pygmalion-chan about her looking like a French doll. There's something very Bru about her facial features... and yet so your own style. Your waist ball joint lends this lovely antique air to her that is just so endearing. Gorgeous work... and congrats on being a featured artist for Premix!!! Wow!!! Talk about good publicity...

    26. She's got a new look, wonder what you all think of her now !!

    27. She is WAY cute! I love her! You did a great job on her.

    28. I said it before, and I will say it again. What a unique beauty!

Seeing these new pictures shows how versatile she really is. I absolutely adore this doll. You can tell that she is completely original, which is a hard thing to pull of in the ABJD world.

You know, you should make her a younger brother/sister someday. I'm sure she would appreciate it, and I know I will. It's obvious that you have a talent in this area, so why stop when you can do so much more?

    29. she looks great like that! :D

    30. Thank you for such a very nice reply !
