Printed out a head to check how it looks in reality
Still have many parts to modify, but glad he looks adorable

 

Finally, assembled the doll for the very first time!!

Still needs to be modified and tested more, but just happy to make some progress.





Plus, the head modeling is getting better…

 

Making a new mold of Rudy! Just forget about the previous one
What I want to tell is, that you'd better not make a bjd with 3Ds Max... it's much easier with ZBrush!

Anyway, hope you love his smile!

Still not very satisfying, but I believe this is not bad!

 

Thank you all for your replies! While not uploading anything here, I've learnt a lot about ZBrush and 3D modeling techniques. Then gave it a retry on making Rudy. Now I'm almost done and looking for a good doll casting company

 

I'm almost done with my little puppy boy!

 

A set of original models of Rudy's body has arrived! I'm gonna make its surface smoother and send to the caster. Wish his head also arrives soon!

He's back, with a beautiful baby-pink urethane body!
and yes, this is the end of my journal of making Rudy.
I learnt a lot by creating him, and I already made next 2 MSD-sized dolls. They are currently in Russia for casting.
