Hello! I just came back from a few years long dolly hiatus, and realized I'm completely out of the loop with companies nowadays. So much has changed in the past 4-5 years, gosh... I'm looking for recommendations of doll companies who offer (preferably dark) grey resin. I know about Resinsoul, but I'm hoping to look at other options as well. I'm toying with the idea of getting a 70cm boy body in this color, so them carrying that would also be pretty important, but first things first, I'd just like to get up to date with companies with a grey resin option. Thank you in advance to anyone who interacts with this thread. (I hope I'm posting this in the right place...)
Withdoll has grey which is kind of cool toned medium grey, light rosy brown which is a warm toned medium grey, and sometimes will offer rosy brown, which is kind of a warm toned dark grey. Ive been out of the hobbie for a couple of years though myself, so Im not sure when/if they will offer the darker rosy brown again. I just checked their site and saw that its not currently an order option on a basic doll but the two medium shades are both available to order. Off the top of my head in the past Ive known Souldoll, Luts, Racoondoll, Iplehouse, and I believe Soom to have grey skins, but Im not sure whats currently available out there right now. Hope this helps!
Dollzone, Doll Chateau, Dream Valley, Miracle doll, and Supia all offer greys as standard.Doll Leaves have offered a grey in the past. Granado have Syringa which is a purpley grey. Iplehouse has a grey the offer through doll choice and occasional limited releases. Luts have two greys. They are all pretty light greys though. Dollstown offers three greys one of which is quite dark.
Peakswoods has three different grays - Moonlight Gray, Blue Gray, and Gray. Blue Gray is the middle tone according to their color chart (which can be found here: Peak's Woods Color ChartNews & Notice - Peak's Woods), and if Gray is actually as much darker than Blue Gray as it looks in their photo then it's pretty dark - I've got a doll in Blue Gray, and the official color photo is about how he looks under incandescent light to my eye.
I myself recommend Dollstown. My Modern Grey girl is the right shade of grey and the face up turned out fabulous which was done by Redmaiko here on DOA. Ren is Finished by Marie, on Flickr
Many thanks to all of you. I'm currently leaning towards Dollstown's dark grey, plus they have gorgeous 70cm boy bodies. But if anyone else stumbles upon this thread who knows more companies that haven't been mentioned yet, I'll definitely check those out as well.
