    1. LOL same here, I can't keep anything short! I cut my novel from 515 pages down to 359 and I'm still going.

    2. Yeah, my friends openly laugh at me when I say it's just something small I'm writing. They know better but hope springs eternal, y'know. I can write short things. I did a challenge where the hard limit was 3,000 words (including title) and it needed to be a fully contained story. I did it with 2,996 words, fully contained story and it had 2 complete sex scenes in it. But left to my own devices, I lean heavily to epic length stories.

    3. I have so many... I'm glad I'm not really the sort to shell existing characters (I wouldn't be able to, although there are some who could be hybrid dolls; I'm too lazy to do all the matching), but characters and stories spring into my mind from the most mundane things, it's amazing. I'm annoyed that I can never get myself to finish anything, but the way I go about making my stories, I don't think I have the lifespan to be able to do it all.

With the dolls, I came up with characters just looking at the sculpts, and fleshed them out while I was waiting for the dolls to get here. They all exist in the same 'verse, which I suppose could be kind of fantasy, but it's the type of fantasy set in modern times, though I like to stick them in alternate universes when I'm bored or killing time at doctors' offices or something. I am definitely the sort of person who would take characters from epic scifi or fantasy shows and make coffee shop AUs, and it's no different for my own characters.

I haven't written or drawn anything for my dolls' "story", except basic clothing designs for my first two boys, Lux and Remy, but I think about it constantly. Sometimes I think I'd like to make something for it, but like I said, I never ever finish anything I start. :(

Remy (Short for Rembrandt) is one of two fully human characters in this little universe I've set up for myself. He's a gamer, though he's also really good at cooking, and he works in his family's restaurant. His mother's an art history geek and named her three children after famous artists. He's working towards a business degree in college, but right now he's mostly just finishing his required courses. He's pretty calm and mellow, to the point where he seems apathetic about a lot of things, but he'll perk up when he finds something suitably remarkable. He doesn't seem to notice the present fantastic elements in his life.

Adari is Remy's childhood friend, and the second human character (Maybe?). She studies fashion design at the local art school in the city they live in (Imagine New York), though she's also an avid reader-- She's deeply interested in mythology and folklore. She works at a Starbucks-like establishment, and it takes a toll on her already-fiery temper. She's very confident and direct, and though she's admired for it, the people who know her tend to fear her at least a little, too. She does notice the more fantastic elements of the verse, but until she puts two and two together (And she has to, eventually), she just writes it off as real life being strange, and maybe daydreams about it being the fantasy that it is.

Lux is a violinist, and though he works multiple jobs (that he never specifies), he also gets money from busking in the city subway. He's very good; he can draw some notably large crowds with his music, and some people have even missed their trains because they were so taken with listening to him play. He has a penchant for black and dark neutrals in his clothes, mostly grey. Lux himself is very cordial and polite, though he has a teasing habit once you get to know him better. You could say he's something of an old soul.

Puck (Adari names him that; if he has a proper name, he never says it) is a winter sprite (I ran with his sculpt's name, hahaha. I thought it was inspiring). I'm still working on his character, and he's actually very plot-heavy, so I don't want to write too much down about him. He's mischievous and playful, as per fae tradition; he's not interested in malevolence unless he thinks he's personally been wronged. He has unusual ways of interpreting this.

I love romance stories, so they each pair into their own couple. Remy and Lux are one pair; Adari and Puck make the other. I've had Lux and Remy (With Adari as a strong but secondary character that I didn't think I would find a sculpt for) for so long that I've basically got their whole story memorized. When I came up with Puck's concept, it was like he and Adari just gravitated towards each other in my imagination, and the story for them started coming along.

This probably isn't the most *~EXCITING~* or *~ORIGINAL~* thing ever, but damned if I don't have fun coming up with things for them! That's all I really care about, in the long run. :kitty2

    4. I currently only have Ruthie as a doll. Her Ma will be next, a green witch. The only other character in this story so far is the traveler who came to Ma for help with her unwanted burden - being a lone, pregnant traveler is way too hard - Ma said she'd help this person in exchange for the child (instead of offering an abortion)(yes, the witch asked for their firstborn).

Until the birth and for a little while after, Ma provided shelter, food, survival training, and therapy to this person (who really was too young to handle the situation very well without guidance). Now that the traveler moved on, we have a witch and her adorable adopted child, who loves to play in the dirt and is slowly growing old enough to begin to use the magics she's been steeped in since before leaving the womb.

(The kid is available for RP if anyone wants to be friends with an excitable three-year-old who hasn't quite learned how to do magic)

ETA: This unnamed mother storyline will belong to the Littlefee that's my tax refund purchase. Ruthie is a changeling left by the fae, then that family left her for the Witch rather than live with magic. Ma will be the foster/adoptive mother or a whole clan, eventually.

    5. I think a Creaa fairy would make a great character for stories. And just today, I see Iplehouse is offering one!

    6. I haven't added anything to this thread about my characters, but today I wondering how tall one of my taller OC's would be in a doorway, so I took a tape measure to the door in my office during lunch and marked his height off. Then I wanted to see how tall another character would be next to him...so now I have a height chart in pencil on my door at work. Good thing I keep it open all the time so no one can see the back XD

    7. Wisp is a Creaa-J Lev. He's part of my Divine Worship world and his lover is Ra-Sui (SD Azreal skull head). Ra-Sui is the God of Decay & Guardian of Souls. Wisp is a Shadow Soul, a soul that has chosen not to travel the Great Wheel anymore and instead serves Ra-Sui.

And I've recently added 2 new characters to the Divine Worship world because of 2 doll purchases I just made. They were now or never purchases and at first I didn't know who they were but once I'd made the decision to buy them, the characters sort of rushed me. The Divine Worship world is setting out to rival my Dream Time world in sheer size/cast of characters. I have more dolls that are part of DW than DT, but for general complexity, DT wins but I've also been writing stories in that world for 25+ years where DW is only about... 5 years old.

    8. I haven't posted here in a while, and I've had many a character change and new doll since I last did. In the last month alone my crew has grown substantially, so here's a short summary of my current dollies and then some:

Yuli - A shy elf in the modern world where very few other non-human entities live. Other than her ears, she looks perfectly normal, albeit super cute.

Mari - A young girl (around 6) growing up in the back woods deep in the heart of Scotland. She likes pretty dresses and clean feet.

Shirabe - (is still being modified) A chimera-human who is part wolf thanks to a disease. Lives in a slum where he is learning to be a doctor, but he already has a practice opened since medical clinics are few and far between where he lives.

Fynn - A young man who likes fish....maybe a little too much. (He will be dating a doll I plan to get later who will be named Aster. Fynn is terrified of her older brother.)

Teru - A PhysEd teacher at a school (the one Fynn, Aster, and Rin attend). He's very boastfull and tall.

Lyra - (only have her head so far) She has a questionable taste in fashion and is dating Teru. Teaches health at a school (same as Teru) and always wears a lab coat.

Asher - (have him on layaway, will be picking him up next month!) The gentle giant type. A college student who is very passive. (He will be the older brother to Aster, when I get her.) He has scales on his back because of a family curse. (He doesn't know about it affecting him.)

Rin - (have his head in the mail, will need a body) A hot-headed guy with a super short stature. His fuse is just as short as his body. Surprisingly, he's good at sports.

And I'll go ahead and tell a little about the two dolls I still need to get to complete my crew:

Aster - A young, naive girl who is dating Fynn. She suffers from a family curse that makes her part fish (maybe that's why Fynn likes her? xD). Fynn doesn't know about this curse, however. She's afraid one day she'll lose her humanity.

Ohn - A D&D character of mine in doll form. He's a half-elf way-of-shadow monk who grew up in a hidden monestary that was a cover for the library of denier. He's also a chosen one of denier, but doesn't know it yet. He doesn't like to wear shoes. These days he's cursed to have a full body tattoo, one of his ears was cut off, and he has a taxidermy cat that he always carries around.

    9. I'm back. The Saint got booted off the list for now, I decided he was redundant after all. But his girlfriend decided to stay. And I've already bought a head for her (Kanadoll Eden). I just need her body to get finished, even though I told myself I would only buy a head then. But there was a sale... Oh dear. Hopefully, this is the end. Probably not though.
