Hello! I've been doing some searching around for the right doll for a fan doll project I'd like to work on. I'm really feeling myself drawn towards MYOU Chelses for this project. The problem is, I'm looking for a female body with an almost entirely flat bust, and I'm having a hard time finding that without getting into matching skin colors etc. (I'd like to stick with MYOU if possible, essentially). Does anyone know if it's possible to combine a MYOU 1/4 boy body (chest/torso) with a MYOU 1/4 girl body? Does the version of the body matter (Ideally, I'd like to combine the girl body ver. II new with the boy body ver I.)? Alternatively, does anyone have any photos of the MYOU 1/4 girl body ver. II new that clearly shows the bust size at a side view? The bust might be small enough for me to work with, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Thanks in advance for any help!
The problem with combining torso joints like that is that they need to be fitted or else they won't be very stable and will wobble everywhere. Specifically with those two bodies it looks like the place where the first joint comes down is higher on the girl body than it is on the boy body. You'd have to do some mod work if you wanted the boy chest piece to work on the girl body, and I don't know how the pecs would look with a mod like that. I can't help with pictures unfortunately, but if you find a proper chest can't be found, you can always buy the doll and sand her chest down to where you need it. It would require a few different grades of sandpaper and some hard work, but it'd be easier than modding the boy chest. The biggest downside to this method is that on tan resin it can make the resin lighter in the sanded areas.
Wouldn' it be easier to get the boy body and cut/sand the "boy bits" off? That's what I do with 1/3 dolls when I want an immature/undeveloped/flat chested girl body (nearly all of my 1/3 sized dolls are children rather than teens or adults). Teddy
Agreed with Teddy, it's a lot easier to discard the beans and sausage than any other body part. A sharp knife and sandpaper, or alternatively a dremel, is all that you would need. Sanding off the twins is a lot more difficult, not only do you have to take off more bulk, but also worry about making it relatively symmetrical. And you can still be confident that the joints will fit together, which they probably won't just switching them between the boy and girl body, unless the sculptor specifies that they made it in such a way. Usually, that's not the case. Also, I have to say that Chelses is so gorgeous in person, I am totally obsessed with mine Her smile is the sweetest!
I'm currently in the process of sanding down not one, but two "girl" torsos for my twins. I think you would have better luck sanding the chest down, or buying a boy doll and sanding the bits down as Teddy suggested. The small chest on the MYOU doll doesnt look super big and would probably be fairly "easy" to sand off. Choice is yours though and I wish you luck in which ever option you end up picking!
Oh I have the Myou V2 body with small chest, this is comparing it with Doll Leaves Myth body (they're surprisingly similar), I posted these to the doll leaves thread but here they are again to show the body off: First one is the Myou body and the second one is the Doll Leaves Myth body.
Thank you so much, it definitely makes it easier to visualize like this! I think ultimately I'm going to wait and see how I feel once it arrives; if anything, I'll probably try to sand the chest down a bit; the thing that led me away from just buying a boy body was that I do want there to be a little bit of a chest, not completely flat like a male body would have. It definitely doesn't look like it'd be that difficult to sand things down a bit if need be.
