I bought a wig from Leekeworld for a doll I have on layaway (a Bobobie Emily in dark tan) as well as some of their extensions since the doll’s character has a skunk streak à la Stacey London however when the wig arrived I realized it wouldn’t work because it has a very pale "clear" part. It’s probably my fault for not seeking owner photos of the wig but it’s proving difficult to find a suitable substitute so I was wondering if anyone has had any luck tinting "clear parts"? I was thinking of using a paintbrush and a tiny bit of rit dye, but I only have the old powder stuff that wasn’t formulated for synthetics. I think I’ll try it anyway but if anyone has any ideas or pointers I’d really appreciate it!
I am a little confused... so the wig cap is too light of a color to match your doll's skin? If that is the case, people use powdered foundation to match wig scalps to their natual skin tone, so I would suggest using chalk pastels and a small brush. It may require touch ups eventually, but there is little risk of it staining your doll and would not have a thick fake look like paint might.
Pastels, of course! Thank you @Tonboko! I have medium matte maybe I can use to give it a little more "tooth’.
