Resin Comparison Color and size comparison of GRANADO to ALL companies

I'll get to it in a couple days (once work stops being crazy) - I have both a 66cm Miro and an Enoch. No Pancho though - he was on the list but then Uriel happened and the rest is history

And here you go! One perfect hybrid. (Ignore resin match, please - this body came second-hand, has probably yellowed more on top of being Normal Yellow, and there's residual blushing I couldn't get off.)



There is a bit of gapping, but as long as he won't be sporting a buzzcut, a wig will hide it.

Can anyone tell me what sort of shade of white the Granado white is? I've tried Googling it but most of the pics I could find were either old or it just showed the white itself with nothing to really reference it to... well anything. Is it paper white? Creamy white? Rose white?

I want to get in on the crowdfunding 50-53cm boy and am trying to figure out if their white will work for what I'm thinking or if I should go with the new normal.

 

It's sort of a creamy white. It matches RingDoll normal perfectly.

I have been in love with the female Nuevo body for some time, but none of the heads are right for me. I have decided to go for it and make my first hybrid but don’t know where to start searching for a head both for resin match or options of companies that will sell the head alone. Any suggestions?

 

Hmm ... I've lost track of female sculpts a bit, I'm afraid. I have an Iple head (obtained in a split) on the Nuevo body, resin match is good but she needs a neck donut ... Impldoll might work, they sell heads separately and scale should be fine, but I'm not sure about resin. (They offer resin matching service, I think.)

 

IH heads do look good, but they need the donut, yes. Impldoll is great for heads and their Starwoman or Idol heads should work well on the Granado. Their real skin should match the Granado new normal fairly well. (both are light yellow.) Some dealer sites have access to company heads that are otherwise harder to get to. Clover-singing.com is just now carrying Impldoll for 15% off, honors all promos and has free shipping (anything you see on the Impl site that Clover is not carrying on their site CAN still be ordered through Clover, just email them). They also carry some Granado items.

 

I just found a surprising near match, about 85, 90 percent I think. You see, I sent a Islanddoll dark tan head cap to Granado about two months ago. It finally arrived and it turns out it is pretty close to Granado chocolate, and would be way cheaper to boot. Here's what Granado said:

"Hello,

We have got your head cap. Here is the picture we put our chocolate skin resin and yours together.



As you can see, our chocolate skin resin is darker, and less red tone."

I know dark tans are a pain to hybrid, so hopefully this helps someone. I think I'll go with the cheaper one. That gives me more money for dolls. Shame I had to wait so long and pay for postage to found that out, but what can you do?

@Ayame N. I have put Supia, Elfdoll and DIM Minimee heads on the Nuevo girl body, and all of them have good proportions. I had to mod the neck holes on the Elfdoll and Minimee heads a little.
NS Supia/NS Granado = very good color match.
NS Elfdoll/NS Granado = depends on how old the head is, newer Elfdoll normal is candy pink. Old Elfdoll NS is very good.
WS (Snow Skin) Elfdoll/WS Granado = not bad, Granado WS is a little yellower in tone.
NS DIM Minimee/WS Granado = good, but depends on how yellow the Miinimee head is.

@Ayame N. Souldoll is another company that sells heads separately. Don't know how well they'd work with a Nuevo body though, maybe someone else happens to have both?

 

Thanks for all the suggestions! I am leaning toward Rexy from Iplehouse because she seems to fit the image I have the best. Any ideas which of the resin colors would be the best match? The lighter the better I think, I am going for a sweet Victorian girl image that I can style in vintage laces/corsets...

Is loongsoul white or pink skin a resin match with granado white skin?
I want to buy enoch head in white skin, and searching body for it. I want a loongsoul body for him, but I don't know if the resin match.

Is anyone able to confirm if the current Granado WS and Spiritdoll WS still match?

Has anyone tried to put Enoch on the Spiritdoll Proud body?

 

Does the vinyl and resin color match? A tan vinyl head on a tan resin body, for example? (and does that 'hybrid' work at all, if anyone knows?)

 

I can't speak to the resin and whether it matches or not, I only have a full Vinyl doll, but Granado have stated that vinyl heads on resin bodies or vice versa is simply not possible. I can't currently remember where I saw that but they did say it definitely wasn't possible even though I know sometimes people are able to put Resin heads on other company vinyl bodies. I think it was something about there being no way to support the head and the internal frame wasn't strong enough for it or something? Just thought I should share that.

 

Thanks for that, @ArcaneDesires! That's exactly what I wanted to know. Granado did come forward on Facebook and told me vinyl head to resin body wouldn't work, but I might try anyway. I have one vinyl head I can attempt to hybrid to a resin body (I think the other way would not work) as I've done it in the past with Obitsu bodies. I don't have high hopes though... I don't expect it to work. But I just gotsta try!

 

If you're putting a resin head on an Obitsu body (the only one I've tried), you have to run an elastic loop from the head far enough down into the skeleton to loop around-- the shoulder or chest area. The tricky part is making the top end of the soft vinyl neck stiff enough to not collapse under the elastic tension. On an Obitsu there's a hard plastic plug thing. Looking at the Vindoll skeleton, there's not really anything to support the top of the neck. You'd have to improvise something. But if anyone could do it, you could.

 

You know, I no longer recall how I did it. I've had a few resin heads on Obitsu bodies and I know I never looped anything anywhere. So what did I do? Poop, I don't know! I'll have to play with it and see if this one can do it, especially since it's connector mechanism is not like an Obistu's at all.

Howdy to you too! Obitsu used to have a head connector with a tab you put through the head slot, then turned to keep the head on-- like Fairyland only smaller. It made it so easy to put on a resin head. Maybe that's what you had?

 

Picking this thread up to ask if anybody has put an Iplehouse SID head on the Granado Embody. I really want to see if this hybrid works, please! ♥

 

I can go the other way and put an Embody sized head on a SID body if that helps at all?

 

No Embody in the house ... I do have a Nuevo, and two SIDs (one Model, one Muscle). Switching Nuevo and SID heads did not work ... you might get lucky with the Embody as it's supposedly bigger.

 

Thanks @Jany! Thankfully the Embody has overall bigger proportions which are quite similar to SID, but in 70cm. So I'm hopeful it'll look good (:

@Quiet and Insane Unfortunately I really just want to see how a SID head sits on the shoulders of the Embody and if the neck fits as well as I believe it does.

@Jany , I see you have a Nuevo body. Do you happen to have a Ringdoll head as well? I'd love to see how a Ringdoll head fits a Neuvo body, if you'd be so kind to try it

 

I do happen to have a Norman Light 2.0, and he's even been put on the Nuevo before - tan skin does not match, but he fits perfectly.

Oh, okay - my mistake!
As you can see the resin match was awful, so he's on a different body ... if I remember correctly he had decent mobility, and I'm not terribly picky about neck fit so I might be the wrong person to ask But if I find some time tomorrow I can put him back on the Nuevo body and take a pic from the side so you can see for yourself.

 

I always thought Granado's New Normal was pink based! But reading I saw it's yellow based. I'm hoping to get the b.Mini body for my Volks Schulze (I was going to do it years ago! Then thought about Spiritdolls body and never got him either!) but he is an older Volks. Not sure if he's a re-release in Pureskin or the original in Oldskin either. So would the resin match be close to Volks?

 

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a photo of Granado White next to Dollshe Pure Fresh? They seem like they would be close.

 

Would anyone happen to have Ringdoll hands they can put on a Granado Evol body, or let me know the wrist measurements and shape of the joints (oval, round, etc.)?

I want to put the very expressive and elegant Ringdoll hands on the Evol body, but I want to make sure it'll work. Barring that, I'm looking at 5th Motif hands.

Resin match isn't an issue for me.

@chalyss you are a scholar and a saint! Thank you for fighting with Flickr and taking the pictures. It doesn't look like it'll work, which was what I was afraid of.

Now I'm wondering if the 5th Motif hands would work. I have nothing against the Granado hands, because they are well-sculpted and beautiful, but I was wanting something a little less beefy. Does anyone have 5th Motif hands or know their measurements and ball shapes?

No problem! I find the Granado hands a bit large, too. Maybe Impldoll? You know, I can try that... plus their jointed hands. I won't be able to show you for a day or so, but I can try it. I can also try Dollshe hands, but not the expressive ones. Hmm. Maybe I can make this a Reference Guide to a degree.

(Ringdoll has oddly small wrist balls and hands, even for their own dolls, I feel. I tend to change them out or use them for bigger gals.)

 

Venitu wrists are even smaller than Ringdolls, so they wouldn't work either :,D

I think the Mystic/18M hands might be too small in the wrist too, but the 28M miiiiight work - if they aren't too large overall :/

 

Compared to the body, they might be. :T The head is another Dollshe 28M, so at least the hand will fit the head XD

@LupusDarkmoon Thank you! I saw your post, but I wasn't sure how much it has changed. I think I read that the "new normal" is the only real change over the years. I might have to just take the plunge and hope for the best. I adore the new Female Embody, but the head looks too young for the body IMHO. Figured I would get her in a color that I could put another head onto if needed.

Here's hoping their white hasn't changed much, as it looks close enough for me from your photos!

 

Try the new magnetic expressive Impldoll hands. They might work.

Having a hard time finding my Impl jointed hands.

 

It really isn't, and it's much less than some of my other options... except maybe Ringdoll, but it's also less. Just not much less.

new normal is pale NS-Y... sunshine is caramel tan or darker (I have the old sunshine, but I think the new sunshine is darker)... homme is kinda pale coffee. I don't have those for you to see except the new normal, but none of them match. Are you looking for a match?

I think so. Maybe little sanding the neck and change the S hook because this is too wide for subtle Tasha's head-hole...
This Tasha head is 2010 or older. I don't now, what the type of NS skin is this body. (Old/New?)
