Welcome! ​

My name is Kal, I’m US based artist and I’ve been in the BJD hobby since 2016.

Colorful fantasy paint jobs with a touch of whimsy are what I strive for. If you’re looking for something with an illustrative feel I hope you’ll consider me.

Pricing + Services​

Keep in mind some of these are ranges to give an idea of pricing, but may be different depending on size/complexity.​

Basic Faceup $60 (+Depending on Complexity)

Color match (For head) $65

Artist's choice faceup $40

Basic body paint $40 (hands and chest)

Thorough body painting (sueding included) $65 - $150 (Depending on size and complexity)

Fantasy parts/tattoos - $10 - $75

Glow in the dark accents - $10 +

Faceup Removal $10

Body paint removal $20 + (Depending on size)

Eye openings on Dreaming faces $40

Dying (Solidcolor/partial/points) $65-$250

Eyelash application (You provide eyelashes + face protecter) $5

Process​

We'll discuss your commission, and I'll start making a mockup. Once I have your doll in my possession and an approved mockup the work begins! My mockups are a pretty fair representation of what I will create, so photo updates are at 50% and 90% completion. Now dolls can have different qualities in person as opposed to photos, so I will update you as I work on whether a certain look will work or not.

As far as artist's choice faceups, these work a little differently. With these, you can give me a theme/a couple words for inspiration. Once you send me your doll I will do the paint work mostly at once. I will send photos before shipping your doll back to you, but there will be no check-ins or changes to the paint job.

Now, dye jobs are also a bit different. We will discuss beforehand what color you want your doll, and if it can be done you will send the doll off to me. When you send a doll in for dying you must accept that the dye will not come out 100% perfect! On that note, darker colors have a better chance of coming out evenly, so keep that in mind. Once you have sent your doll to me I will prep and dye the doll, and once done send you pictures.

My turnaround times are as follows -
2 weeks for faceups
4 weeks for faceup + body paint/etc
4-6 weeks for dye (Dye days are about once a month, more if I receive more dye commissions)

What I do not offer​

Dye removal
Full eye openings

Materials​

Liquitex artist grade acrylic paint, matte + gloss varnish, and iridescent medium.

Winsor & Newton Brush cleaner for faceup removal on professionally cast dolls, isopropyl alcohol for home cast resin.

Special​

I have glow in the dark powder in my stock! It will have a 3d effect on your doll and be glossed for the best glow.
