20–39cm Dolls Charm Doll Corne comes home~

Sep 20, 2024

    1. Charm Doll Corne is a doll I had eyed for a looong time, always debating if I wanted to take the plunge and get it or not. I didn't necessarily have a look in mind for it, but look at its face! Its wide eyes and upturned lips! It's so cute!! And so, in April of this year, I caved, and Corne came to my doorstep almost exactly five months later!

Here's a commemorative photo of my cat, Evelyn, sitting on the shipping box Corne came in. She's the postal inspector I trust most, and after she cleared the package, it was time for unboxing!

Corne came in this cute, green-and-white box that opens with a flap kinda like a shoe box! Inside, the doll itself was wrapped in this bubble wrap that was tied off with a pretty gold ribbon~!

The mummy doll and COA envelope! Despite being a blank doll, she actually has a face mask on under there!

Inside the envelope, there was a postcard print of Charm Doll Evan along with a paper and an embossed card COA. The ID number on the two COAs match the ID number engraved in the plate of her headcap! I never actually had a doll with its ID number printed on it before, so I was surprised! Such security!

For anyone interested, I took several photos of her blank head for reference. Please take a look at the Imgur album here. :dance

And our first look at Corne! She is quite cute, and she was strung very tightly. She holds her poses really well. She can't stay sitting upright without her hands or something behind her to prop her up, but she can stand and balance steadily. This is the CDB-26-01 body, and she came with this one open hand and one fist hand by default. This is what she had in her display photos, but I was surprised that she had them when I opened the box! Her head couldn't hold poses well out of the box (kept doing that snap this way-that way thing), but a silicone disk solved that issue no problem!

After I received her, I sent her to my friend Sarah (SunshineGirl here on DoA) for a faceup! This is really special for me because I never had a friend paint one of my dolls before, and it makes me love Corne even more. Sarah did a wonderful job with her faceup, too! There's a faint shimmer on her eyelids, cheeks, and lips which don't show well in photos, but it's very pretty in person. Corne also doesn't have glued in eyelashes, but I actually don't miss them. I like her with the painted lashes alone, and it saves me the constant stress of accidentally knocking them while brushing her bangs aside.

Here's a photo of her all dressed with eyes and wig! (And a keychain Sarah sent. :XD:) I got home in the evening yesterday, and I was too tried to attempt wig taming, so her wig is a little wild here. But, changing the wig, eyes, and clothes are all part of the fun of having a doll, and the important part is Corne is home now. :D
