Materials Cernit for finished doll?

Apr 27, 2015

    1. I want to make a doll without any casting, so I need a sturdy material for thinner parts and tension. I've read that cernit is good?
What about sanding, carving and the finished look? The internet said that after baking they have a porcelain like finish.

So is Cernit a good choice or are there better ones? Another one with good reviews seems to be Fimo Puppen/professional.

    2. You might want to try Apoxie as it doesn't require baking (and is a little sturdier).

Cernit is a good polymer clay and is often a preference with one of a kind static doll makers. I've personally never tried it, I like premo as far as polymer clays go. I know some people mix fimo puppen and cernit but I'm unsure of the ratio

    3. Thanks for the answer. :)
I guess I could combine poylmer clay or airdry clay (for bigger parts) and apoxie sculpt (smaller parts) because it would be cheaper and I could do more dolls. (as I don't plan to sell)
